To me this is a gargantuan task!! However, the master puts one at ease and makes me believe it's doable. I feel as though I'm in a Classic Mercedes Benz technical college. Very informative and captivating. I will watch this series at least 5 times. Looking forward to the next segments.

Fantastic just seeing you do your thing! Very calm, methodical & thorough. One rarely gets to see another (especially professional) person work on these cars and I must say it's reassuring to know I'm not the only one that doesn't take the easy way out... If you're going to fix something, you might as well dismantle the whole part group/area down to the bare bones and fix/replace each broken or damaged part of the component as you reassemble and get it done right the first time!

It is a miserable job that I have pushed off but need to do before I kick off. The left side footwell vent door is broken which I've temporarily proped slightly open so my feet don't freeze off. The heater box flap fabric turns to dust at some point which makes every vent slightly open even if the pods are working perfectly.
The whole process is doable in a garage but you need to have all your stuff lined up to get the job done. Pierre say 30 hours which is based on someone reading the step by step as they go. I would personally budget two decent weekends, replace all of the pods and door flappers, new cooling and heating bits and seal it all up. Not a job for the uninitiated but something that can be done.

I replace a w124 evap once and although a big job, was not as bad as this 126. Mercedesbenz could have designed 2 things much better
    1) the evaporator, thus is as uncommon on a Toyota as it is common on a Benz of this Era. Obviously to most would be the quality and materials in these units were questionable.
2). The replacement functionality. Remove the dash, the heater box and everything else, to replace this one part! Not thinking well here who ever made and designed this unit.
I suppose they just think, it will last longer than the warranty period.
