@@origtex ok thanks right now I still have my 2 original keys the same as the ones you used here but both of the keys have broken at the top where the key ring connects at so I am trying to find some new keys for it do you have to buy them on eBay or can you find them in Amazon or just buy them at the dealer?
I just bought a used 2003 F150. I bought 2 keys and key fob's on line for $15.00. I paid 4 dollars to have both keys cut. Followed the instructions and both keys are now working great!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!! I've been searching everything all day to find out why my anti-theft system was so buggy. Turning the key 8 times worked like a charm. On my 2000 mustang. WHOOOO!!!!!
Hey don't roast him on it I mean I was going to point it out also but I mean the guy probably knows what he's talking about when it is not internet related but I mean the Internet is just one of those things some people can't master the thought of LOL
Check your owners manual first! I had a friend that paid over $400 for a remote replacement, so I checked mine. My 2004 Ranger will program a key, but you have to do it in the exact order called for in the manual. When I got the new blank key at the dealer, they cut it and I went to program it. First thing I did was try to open my door with it. It did not work. So I went back in and they re-cut it. Then the guy told me ---- GOOD THING YOU DIDN'T PUT IT IN THE IGNITION, BECAUSE IF YOU DIDN'T DO ALL THE STEPS IN THE MANUAL IT WOULD KILL THIS KEY!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for telling me the first time!
Don't know how reliable this is , but I have seen Home Depot's in store advertising. Supposedly some stores sell the FOB and will cut the key. I need to check that out and post a video.
Karl is correct, original key #1, insert turn to acc. (do not start), remove. Repeat with original key #2. Now do the same thing with your new key, but when you turn it off, do not remove the key, instead turn it forward all the way and it should start. Now your key is programmed!! I think there is a timeframe (like 10-15 sec.) so if it doesn't work try it again faster. I just did it on my 2004 F150 because one of my keys was worn down. Always use your best key for the new cut. Lowes/Home Depot told me they cannot cut modern vehicle keys, go to a real locksmith. Some locksmiths with the side cut machines can program keys for you regardless of how many you have. If not look around, avoid the dealer if you can. Its just too expensive.
I typically believe you need 2 original keys plus the new key. If you only have one original, you may be taking a trip to the dealership, but I am not entirely sure.
What do you do when you loose your car key?? I look for it What do I do when I don’t find it? I go to youtube and find this “helpful video “ that tells me to go to home depot and have another key cut and go to Google and look for instruction on how to program it
I got a car key cut at my local home depot and the guy said it was free since it was my own key. Also it didn't have a chip in it (01 Subaru Forester). Now I have a Ford F150 and only have 1 key... I always have 3 keys to each of my vehicles... I'm finding out online that you need both keys in order to program it yourself... I can't afford dealer prices. Any suggestions! Thanks
Yes I tried doing the door open and eight times about four times then went back out and tried for more times cuz that what you said is not true I have an 04 F150 quad cab just like you was talkin about in the video
I did this and it did work. I tried a second time to reprogram my 2nd key Fob and it erased what was on my master Key. : ( Now only the old slave key works! Help!
hey quick question i lost my only original key with the transponder in but i made a copy of that key but it does not have the chip in it. I just ordered a new key that is not cut but has a transponder chip in it. What should i do to make the new key work ?
1:35 my 2004 was take 2 working keys, 1st key turn to ON and let the 5 or so chines sound and complete, take 2nd key into the ON and let same 5 chimes sound and complete, then take new key turn to ON and let the 5 chimes complete again, then start truck and voilå/BAM/Boom/complete LOL. And as he said, make 2 or 3 spares when first getting truck. This is too easy, and dirt cheap on the internet got 3 let's for less than $10. I think wear he's meaning with the 8 turns is for organizing a new lock/unlock fob.
How about if you only have ONE key but two FOBS? I also know the original key# 4 digits and a letter - I have a 2005 Escape but I believe it is the same. I have been living with the one key for a while but would I need to do a 2nd?
The amount of fobs has nothing to do with the amount of keys. the key code you have is very helpful, as your new key can be cut by code instead of duplicating your original key which may be worn. It's always better to cut the key to code. Based on my resources, for your escape you would still need the second key to be programmed to your vehicle at a dealer or locksmith. Walmart/hardware stores "clone" keys, but understand that when you clone a key your car still thinks it's the same key. That means you still can't program additional on-board since you're technically holding a key #1 and a key #1. On top of that, if they use the Ilco system (most of them do) to clone keys, the keys actually need batteries, which could fail at any given time. Good luck.
Will this program a new key with a new chip in it to a 2002.i lost key .bought a new ignition with new key. Can this new key b programmed to old ignition

Original Texan my truck got stolen on dec. 16th, they towed it ect.... and the keys weren't with it. i had an extra key in my safe and soon learned they tore the transmission up, 4wd is stuck and the truck wont go in reverse. the insurance came out to do the estimate and well now i can't find that key. idk what to do. a locksmith is telling me if they come out to the house that it will cost $175 to do it. i found a key that will go in the ignition but won't start it. i have a 2004 ford f150 lariat 5.4 tritan.
First, let me say that I am so sorry to hear about the theft and damage. The good news is that you have insurance. That said, your only out of pocket should be the deductible. Any other costs, direct or indirect, should be absorbed by your insurance company. Let us know how it works out.
I'm going to tell you something I'm a Master Locksmith been doing it for over 10 years don't trust your keys to Home Depot and don't trust your keys to Lowe's or Walmart or any place like that they are not foolproof Cutters take him to a locksmith they'll be done right and don't ever buy a key off of eBay cuz you never know about the transponder that's in it
Agree. Always use a locksmith. Othe transponder you are taking chances if you buy online. Ideally you would buy it from Ford. But you will pay a ton of money for OEM products.
Thanks for your video. Although I have a question you might or not know the answer which if fine maybe someone does. Can I still program a key if the original was lost and the truck was cranked once with the spear key and she went on theft code?
That's really great. ...... And I can crack a wall safe if I spend thousands of hours on random combinations. Sounds essy enough, but there are a few variables. How do you know if you have the original key sets, how do you know this is going to work on your piticular make and model. I gave this a try, and it failed miserably. Had the damn thing so confused, now none of the keys worked, luckily the system reset itself after a minute or so. But during that minute, I thoight I was screwed.
yes on a 2005 f-150 you do need two keys already programmed to program a third one. so if you have two already then it would be best to buy a key online like ebay then have it cut anywhere like Wal-Mart for two bucks and then program it yourself like I did. it real easy to do and want cost you $60 buck which is what the dealership will charge you I know because I bought my truck used and it only had one key so I had to buy the second one and have the dealership program it for me. good luck
Its easy to program ror doors most ppl want to know how to program for ignition and immoboliser ffs ive watched about 20 videos an still dont know how to make one to move my van
All cutting machines now can read and cut a key just like the one you have , Each key has a coded slot ground into it so most machines now can read the slot and cut the key electronically . However if you have a worn out lock and key some of the newer machines cannot make the key correctly for the worn lock cylinder , However if you can fin one of the old manual cutters that were not computerized then you can make a duplicate .
