I'm actually glad they're not teasing us with samples of new songs. Obviously, a part of me desperately wants to hear even a tiniest bit of new material, but I know that in the end it's going to be more rewarding to hear the whole thing all at once :) excluding Elan, of course ;)
Some people have to appreciate the REAL art ! Nightwish is one of them and always will be.
I will be seeing Nightwish April 13 in Quebec City. This is an amazing band and I cant wait to hear the new album. As an old metal head (63) this one of the best I have ever heard.
Makes sense for that guy to give up listening to full albums. If you're a perfectionist, then Once is your dream come true. That album is simply perfect, everything comes together beautifully to make it a masterpiece. I really hope this one can even come close to it like Imaginaerum did, since the singer is a million times better.
I love this stuff but I honestly want, most of all, to start hearing song snippets and to have a tracklist and that kind of stuff.
Snippets is bittersweet... If you like what you hear and u're a huge fan it leaves u craving for more, much more.
Singles/Snippets ruin the first listen to albums, I wish bands were more stubborn and didn't release any audio before the album hit.
Elie Mouawad Definitely. I remember hearing Dark Passion Play snippets and it just made me more stoked about the album. It especially helps when there is a new singer involved since we have no idea what Tuomas is going to do with Floor's beautiful voice. The only vocal hints we can get are from her band, ReVamp, but Floor's style of composition differs so greatly from Tuomas, so there's still no way of knowing how she's going to sound paired up with such a legend. Also if you haven't heard her sing with ReVamp yet, do it! It will give you something new to obsess over for the time being. I was really pleasantly surprised when i looked into it last winter because she has a really really powerful voice, especially in their second album, Wild Card.
nintendude7cubed Let me say I worship Floor Jansen. Since I heard her the first time my mind was blown, I think she's the best vocalist now. But as much as I love her, I didn't like the ReVamp songs.. I think Floor fits much more in Nightwish and if she did sing the songs that weren't meant for her (wacken open air concert) that well, I don't think Tuomas can go wrong with her since he's practically a music genius.
Elie Mouawad I agree with you. Floor is one of the most powerful metal vocalists I have ever heard- not quite on the level of gods like Mercury and Dio, but fast approaching it. Floor made some of the duller songs from Imaginaerium sound thrilling and lively, and she can take insanely difficult songs like Ghost Love Score and make them sound easy. I think she's a great fit for Nightwish and I cannot wait for the album to be released. It's been a long time since a symphonic metal album has been in my top 10 (usually it ends up being stuff by bands like Archspire or Beyond Creation), but I'm anticipating this new album might cut it.
I do agree with you on ReVamp, though. Some of the songs are enjoyable enough, but the writing doesn't have the fire that Tuomas injects songs with. Maybe that's the writing, maybe that's the mixing, maybe that's the backing band; who knows. Nightwish is a good match for Floor, and I can't wait to see what they produce.
Right now I don't wait anything more than the upcoming Nightwish album.

Another teaser. It's hard to be patient when your favorite band's next album is still in the making.
I really hope this album wont have a terrible dynamic range, compressed into a monotone noise. But i got a bit higher hopes after watching this, maybe it will be good quality and dynamic range, for us with expensive hifi systems. A few of the previous ablums have been a bit over compressed, they sound decent enough with a headset, but it sounds a bit strained on a high end hifi system. I still love the band though! Just want the album in 24bit/96khz without too much compression.
Right. As it should be. Plus with vocals like Floor and even some Tara it's a requirement or else you are losing a lot
All the albums that came after Century Child were available in 24bit on DVD-A.

Wormweed one day I would love to hear Floor with high quality Output. And of course in person....With Nightwish. I wish I could see After Forever and I actually saw ReVamp on the tour with Sabatonand Iced Earth. They were all really awesome!
But being the venue it was and ReVamp being the opening band a lot of her and the band is held back. Still amazing show :) Bit with Nightwish "especially like the Wacken DVD" it would a whole new world
Jack Skellington I'm going to see Nightwish live the 29th of August! ordered tickets 1 month ago. I cant wait! feels like time is standing still now:P I missed a Nightwish concert near my place, back in 2003 or 2004, and that's probably the thing i regret most in my entire life.
The Wacken dvd has pretty good quality, not vinyl quality, but its not too bad.
Album is released on April, and my biggest exam from March to April!!! What should I do? How can I study! I will be so hyped!

Happy to say that I already got my tickets to see them on tour. I hope they are like Within Temptation with Sharon coming outside after the show and taking pictures and signing stuff for everyone who waited :O
Supposedly you get that with the VIP package. But that's like another $150 per ticket so you'll have to decide if it's worth it. Personally I'd rather spend the extra $$$ on drinks and a nice Hotel Room across the street to stay the night with the wife. But then again I would love to meet the band as well, especially Floor and Tuomas, so who knows.
Btw, as a Tarja fan (I'm only guessing that from your moniker) what do you think of Floor and what she brings to the table? I know her style is different and there will never be another Tarja but I'd be interested in your honest assessment. I don't want to get into the whole who is better argument, just would honestly like to know.

I saw them with Kamelot and they came to their place where they sold t-shirts and other stuff to take pictures and singh stuff for people,and they usually hang outside also since most of them smoke :)

At the place where I see shows it is quite easy to meet the bands.. and possible without VIP. I already met floor when she went there with her other band. And Sharon was more then willing..actually she was extremely awesomely nice o.o

I am really nervous i mean like wtf .... any other band cannot do this with myself :D before i discovered floor i loved NW, but after i heard Ghost love score or last ride of day with her ..... i cannot subscribe it , this woman makes me smile everytime :)) also her work in revamp is so good did u saw her lives with revamp ?? she is so energic , in almost every concert .... yeah this album will be really epic, becouse her voice is so versatile and everyone know tuomas is genius :) i never thought i will write it but i am happy anette isnt in band anymore .... becouse on live Anette and floor cannot be compared in any way !!!

Well, Tuomas revealed a while back that this album will have the longest NW song to date, so at least one song is 14 minutes or more :D
Jussi Tiihonen Actually to my knowledge the last song on the album is about 25 minutes long and the album has 11 songs in all. So I think we can safely assume that this is going to be their longest album.

I hope Nightwish never stop making albums,they re like the last surviving true-to-music artists that exist in our lifetime.When they are gone,which will eventually happen one day,the music industry will become even more dull.Already all of my fanatic artists which include Evanescence,Within Temptation and more, have become kinda un-interesting for me.The only band and artist I am interested after all these years for their fine music and tracks are Nightwish and Ben Moody...

The good thing is: Usually the LPs sound awesome with lots of dynamics.
The difference between the CDs and the LPs is really like night and day!
That's why I'll buy Nightwish albums only on vinyl.
I just hope that they'll at least keep the tradition of making the vinyl dynamic.

Well, as a video editor I will admit that it's tough. I mean you've spent so much energy, time and passion fine tuning everything that there really isn't so much of a point as you've pretty much heard it a thousand times already. Plus, sometimes you might come across something you wish you could redo but it's too late.

Not that Once wasn't a great freakin album and considered by many there best but personally, I found Imaginaerum to be a far more deep and complex album musically so I'm sure more time was spent dealing with a lot more tracks, sounds, instruments and so on.

For me ReVamp is still better than AF... He10x...
ReVamp > Nightwish > After Forever...
Because only in ReVamp we can enjoy the full abilities of Ms. Floor Jansen as a versatile singer and songs writer as well. But, I really hope the genius Tuomas Holopainen could use and maximize the singing abilities of Floor Jansen in "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" album.
