I own both the MSI GTX 1050 Ti 4GB low profile and MSI GTX 1050 Ti 4GB full size (with the red LEDs). Both work pretty good with a generic 400W stock PSU, using the full size with molex to 6pin adapter.
I knew the thermals and acoustics would be different. I'm more interested in the similarity between the FPS numbers. (Half-joke, but I was hoping for the same good performance since I got the low-profile in a refurbished)

Thanx 4 video, i own a hp compaq elite 8200 sff pc with i5-2400 & 8 gb ram, ssd hd & msi gtx 1050 ti low pro all running on stock 240 Psu. Not just how good it performes, just awesome such little power it uses on full load gaming for hours !
Just put the low profile 1050ti in a dell inspiron I bought for 100$. Power supply wasnt big enough for full sized card and this one was perfect for the CPU it has.

It looks like your testing was done on an open bench so Temps would for sure be more normalized and closer to ambient, but how would the smaller card with its tiny little fans do in a proper closed case? Do you think it would get warmer?
+Jonathan Bright I think both cards would perform a little warmer but the differences would still be the same. I use the lp card in a closed case all the time and have never had any issues with it
I'll use that smaller one to keep the.larger one from blocking my other pci-ex1 slot even though I have a larger case.. those larger ones are a damn headache..

you are testing both card on a full ATX case. which give an advantage to that 1050 low profile. that LP 1050 are meant to place in a mini/micro atx case which has the least airflow in the system.

I just got my 1050ti LP from MSI today. Stuffed it in an optiplex 5040 with an i5 6500 and 2x4 GB RAM. Runs very ver y well, GTA V in 1080p all settings on high its 50 to 60 fps and it looks really nice. Just downloading RE2, RE3 and RE4 Remake and I know they will not run this good but still 1080p on low with textures on high. A pretty little budget card. I will crank the system up with an i7 6700 and 4x8 GB RAM and I am hoping, that if gta 6 is coming for PC in 2 years that it will be playablw on 1080p low and 30 fps or so
Well, they are processors (1:20)... yes, they are known as GPUs, as they do specialize on graphics, but at the end, they are just that, processors. But I get it, to avoid confusion. Good video by the way.
This test was unnecessary, test you sould've done would've been difference between normal and lp coolers, biggest question that i have is, is the lp much louder with same load if compared to normal card and what are the temps.

@@sheria447 I can only recommend it. it is a fantastic gpu for it's price. The temps are fine even on higher usage, if you play Forza Horizon 4 or Monster Hunter (Which both run on constant 60FPS which is quite impressive).
no real point in buying this now in 2020 as the price is way too high, both new and used. just grab a low profile gtx 1650. (even that is priced too high, but better value than the low profile gtx 1050 ti unless you get lucky and find one cheap. I never do lol)

im not pretty sure, but i would say no, but when i stress my gpu, i can only reach like 65 celcius and not more, so maybe thats why my second fan wont start up?

i got the evga lp card and set it at 150 and 700 on mem and runs fine. 1680x1650 (med settings) on my flat screen, 1080 is too wide. running between 50-60 fps, depending on the scenes of course.
