    Please can we don't put ultrawide curved displays upside down. That's a good way to crack the panel

      Can you elaborate? What is the issue with doing that? (not that I intend on doing it).

    Fantastic!! I’m with you, I love that my monitor is my “hub” - one USB-C to my Mac and everything is good to go :)
    Great setup - I might have to look into that monitor arm … I’m still using the factory mount for mine

      It is so good! A lot less cables and devices. The mount is incredible. Expensive, but you absolutely get what you pay for.

    Great video mate, we use Lenovo products at work, laptops, desktops, docking stations and monitors but only up to the 34". Would love to see the 49" but still, they're pretty good devices. That monitor arm did catch my eye....hmmm might have to look into that. Keep up the good work mate. Cheers Vlad.

    Hi, great video! I'm just wondering can we connect two macbooks (one private and one for work) via two thunderbolt slots and switch between them? I read that this monotor has two thunderbolt (in 100W and out 27W) so its why I am not sure about this.

      Thanks Mateusz for watching 😊 no, unfortunately not. The other USB-C/Thunderbolt is purely for charging. It sits in a little pop put panel underneath the monitor.

    Good review, there are surprisingly not many out there. Do you know if its possible to hook up a secondary monitor via. it's dock (displayport or HDMI)? Could be nice to have a secondary with a vertical format, if the laptop can handle to monitors.
    I wonder why it is priced so high, the specs are not that impressive. I still would like one for work though lol!

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  7 місяців тому

      Yes, you can hook up another monitor for it, and I believe you can even have two computers hook up to the one screen to using Lenovo's eKVM technology.
      The price is for a flagship product, but it is often half price on their website.

    20:33 cool video. Nice screen. My current 3 screen setup looks identical to your previous config (down to the same webcam). Thinking …. Beginning of the video was very funny. I was hoping when you left the box at the gate and then came back it would be with a forklift or FEL.

    Great video. Do you know if this monitor supports the MS30 soundbar and MC60 webcam? They are supposed to be plugged in on the top. I'm asking because that is the case for the T34w-30.

    • @Aquarius086
      @Aquarius086 10 місяців тому

      @@oliviers.a.4785the S has the shorter adapter that comes with the MC60 camera. This adapter is connected to the monitor and then to the camera and soundbar. If you have the longer adapter (without S) there will be a gap between the monitor and camera which to me doesn’t look nice but that’s my personal opinion. I have tested this since we have these monitors at work.

      The height of the monitor only is 370.1mm. This is similar to current 27 inch monitors, but it depends on which one you are looking at.
      I'm not familiar with the Dell monitor but on paper it seems very similar.

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  10 місяців тому +1

      Hi Konstantin. Good question. In fact, I am writing this while using the screen 😊
      Pros:
      - It is super clear and crisp. The colours seem vibrant and dynamic (hard to describe)
      - Having all the connections in the screen saves a lot of clutter on my desk
      - No bezels!! Having one wide screen instead of 3 separate screens feels more cohesive and you also save a bit of physical width for the same pixel count.
      Cons:
      - At times the laptop won't recognise the screen and I have to restart it. Not sure if it is the screen or the laptop.
      - The LAN connection through the screen never seems to work. It doesn't affect me as my wifi is good enough. Just odd.
      I really love it though. From my three old screens it has been a major upgrade. I hope this helps a bit.

    What desk are you using? Is there a risk of it tilting over if I use that same setup (including your mount) but don’t put the desk against a wall?
    Also, would I be able to use 2 screens like this one top of each other?

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  10 місяців тому

      Good questions. I use an IKEA raising desk. I don't have it against the wall, and it is super stable. The Ergotron mount is amazing, but you'll need two of them for two screens which I'm not even sure is possible, space wise. You'll also need hardware that can support two 49 inch screens.

    all those extra power draws on a screen for what benefit, screens becoming hubs will end in more screens being replaced, why does a desktop monitor need a network connect, maybe to update firmware if all of the usb fail or just a straight output for manufacture to see how, where and who is using their product, most wont be able to lock the screen from their net connect..
    Difference between 1 big monitor and many smaller is work flow, ppl throw things to the side, they snap them to diff monitors etc etc, 1 big monitor your going to be wasting time moving things around into position and losing what is where, many monitors just isn't about overall screen size.

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  Рік тому

      Thanks a lot for watching and commenting. It seems like you didn't really listen to any of the points in the video though?
      I have a LOT less cables now than before, so less things go wrong (try and getting a consistent experience with 3 screens to a laptop).
      I had a network connection through my docking station, and now it is through the screen. The network connection is for the computer you hook up to the screen. The screen doesn't get its own IP address.
      Using Fancy Zones makes moving windows around super easy. I spend no more time snapping them to zones than physical monitors.
      You do what works for you though. No one is forcing you to get an ultrawide screen, but it works so much better for me.

    • @CheesyCrotch
      @CheesyCrotch Рік тому +1

      @@LarsKlintTech well I did, and it accumulated to more panels being replaced, what is the most common thing to go in a screen (discount the timed exploding caps in the psu) it is still the psu, when the psu goes sometimes it takes out other components in the screen like the drive board. but if the only reason for it is cable management as the only point of the screen then sure. why use a screen for the network point? its a lag point a fail point and a security point. any how didnt want an argument, was a comment on a screen from someone who has installed replaced and repaired panels since plasma, not a personal attack or anything, cable management has come down to for you instead of 3 leads from source to display + 3pwr , you now have a bunch of USB and other crap dangling from behind the screen on the desk back to the computer all adding as future fail points for the screen as it gets older.

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  Рік тому

      @@CheesyCrotch I didn't take it an attack at all. I love the discussion ☺
      I did have to replace the panels soon, as they are on their way out after 8 years of service. Now that you mention you repair screens it make more sense. You see a LOT of broken screens I suspect, but probably not a lot that are fully working? I mean why would they be serviced? There will always be a fail point somewhere though. I choose to have them in the screen rather than yet another device I have to maintain. I don't really have a lot of "crap" dangling, that wasn't there before. I have a USB mic which is now a bit neater and hidden, a mouse usb, the LAN cable, and a USB-C to the laptop. What I don't have are three HDMI/VGA cables, three power cords, as well as the docking station.
      Again, I get your point, but I'll take my chances with a neat and streamlined setup rather than a bunch of extra devices and cables.

      @@LarsKlintTech and I wasnt diss'ing the screen just what will happen, when screens 1st started carrying dvb, the dvb failed 1st, since then screens are at the point where samsung was putting exploding caps into monitors psu so they screens would get replaced, eg the fail points in screens is the psu mainly from hits from the mains now days, add devices and their pwr draw and age onto once an external box, longevity is a thought.
