Great review, thanks. This camera would be great if the motion zones would be kept if the camera turns to a different position and if there was a possibility to make the camera turn to a preset position using a REST command or HA. For instance to make the camera turn to the garage door if it is opened. One Q: does the preset position keep a manual focus or is it auto focus only? And thanks for watching.
Oh look, it's sold out. What a surprise 😂
Yeah, it goes quick. They do come back in stock regularly, but then sell out in an hour or so 🙁
I decided to purchase one after doing some research yesterday. It was out of stock at the time. Checked the website this morning they were in stock. Ordered one. Doesn’t take long if you keep an eye on the site. Just checked again…still in stock.
What is the point of playing a background sound track while talking? Brutal.
I appreciate the feedback! UA-cam is a creative platform, and I like to use background music to set the tone and emphasize certain points in the video. It’s part of the style I enjoy creating and watching. I understand it’s not for everyone, but I try to make content that feels engaging and fun to me. And while 'brutal' might be a strong word, I get that personal preferences vary. Thanks for sharing your thoughts-I’ll keep them in mind for future videos.
@@LarsKlintTech Brutal is in reference to the added sounds making it harder to focus on what is being said, and not the genre. But of course to each their own. Cheers.
is not there to slow maybe gen2 but this is way to slow
I'm not sure what you're saying. What is too slow?
I think it is not waterproof :/
What makes you say that? It is IP66 rated which means that an "IP66 rated enclosure provides protection against high pressure (12.5mm) water jets. The test includes the enclosure being subjected to 100 litres per minute of water volume with the pressure of 100 kPa at a distance of 3m for at least 3 minutes."
@@LarsKlintTech my apologise, mixed up with another camera
@@czayna80 all good. Thanks for watching ☺️
For $300 other companies provide much superior PTZ cameras. I'm pretty dissapointed with this one.
Could you elaborate on which other cameras are superior and why? What is the issue with the UniFi G5 PTZ and why? Help us all understand instead of just posting unhelpful comments. Thanks 😊
@@LarsKlintTech Sure. amcrest, hikvision and reolink are just a few out of a number of companies that provide 4k, poe powered ptz cameras with optical zoom - a few at 16x. Not to mention auto patrol, smart tracking, color night vision and normal night vision at far greater distances. All that at same or even lower price points. I’m not writing a paper so i’m not going to list out all the cameras but they are easy to find on their websites.
I love unifi protect interface, it’s excellent and easy for my non technical wife to use. But their cameras are lacking against the competition. I used to use a blue iris system with cameras from a few different places and the quality of those pictures was on par with my current unifi system that includes g4 pro, g5 flex, ai360, g5 turret ultra and g4 domes
very buggy software with mediocre hardware
Thanks for watching. It would be awesome if you could elaborate. What are some of the bugs you are finding? What hardware do you prefer, and why is this mediocre? Have you got the G5 PTZ installed as well, since you are commenting on it? Please share your experiences, so we can all learn from it.
Don't buy this stuff if you live in the UK. The returns process is done by sending stuff to the Netherlands. Your products get customs charges for returns! This stuff is garbage! I was offered instore credits to cover the customs charges! I will not be buying more items to send to the Netherlands! Very poor customer service.
I’m from the UK and have used both the UK and EU store, I once had to return an order to EU, they sent me return labels for UPS and all went through with no issues or costs for full refund.
Thanks for both your views.
The camera is absolutely terrible at tracking and at night it works poorly for a family of 5. Unifi completely screwed up RTSPS, which is why an assistant like HomeKit doesn't work with them. Unifi is a nice device, but it can't handle cameras plus they are nosy. AI Pro has no offline functionality.
Thanks for watching. I would love for you to clarify some of these very broad statements you are making, so I can understand what you mean in more detail.
What does it work poorly for a family of 5?
I don't know about HomeKit, but Home Assistant works fine with the RTSPS feed. I have 15 cameras running through it using HA. How did they screw it up? Is there a work around for you?
How do you know they are nosy? Do you have examples of it?
