True. I replaced my 1st gen Leaf with a 1st gen Ioniq with leather seats. The Ioniq is so much better in almost every respect except the seats and the suspension.
"We need A/C, it's frigging hot here, 25 degrees." LOL, sounds like a comfortable temperature. Direct sunlight will make if feel hotter, but it sounds like Bjørn is not ready for hot weather testing in Death Valley or Africa. Also, best to keep Thailand trips to winter only. 😀

Nissan Leaf. Bjørn, I have also changed the interior of my Leaf. Seats, steering wheel, airbag, center console and all seat belts. Everything is picked up in Norway and driven to Denmark
Solaris is a Polish company and they make some very good stuff. Nice to see it so far North 😊. I was wondering why the MG would not sell in Poland, we really need good and affordable EVs.
Yes I have seen those, I own both 24 kWh and 40 kWh Leaf. It is correct that the 40 will eventually rapidgate no matter the outside temperature. However the 24 is less energy dense, if it is freezing or below outside, will shed as much heat during the next drive as it gains during a fast charge. In experience, I have driven 932km trip in my 24kWh Leaf, not quite 1000km but in -5c, battery temp would creep up to ~38c when charging but then fall to ~30 again by next charge. It is not fun unless you like stopping a lot, but it is possible without rapidgate unlike 40kWh.
I did a 430km trip in a 24kwh leaf and it went from 4 bars of heat to 8 after 7 charge stops. Maybe it can overheat with extremely fast driving, charging low in the SoC curve over and over.
@@CampGarethtarting at 3 bars, the highest I was able to get it in -5c was briefly 8 bars, around 38c battery temp. At that point though the temp delta is so big that it sheds enough to fall back down to 7 bars (30-32c) by the time you run it down again.
Love my Leaf 30 , wish had the tekna interior for the heated seats . Alas that's the only car I can afford and here in Scotland it's cold winter very envious of the seats . How much you pay for leaf 24
When I read "Extreme Overhaul", I immediately assumed you first changed the 27KW battery against at least a modern 40 KW battery for more range and then you thought about the interior and active air cooling... This is gonna be pain in the butt mate! 🤣🤣🤣

A company in New Zealand has developed a replacement Leaf Battery with liquid cooling.
and another (also in NZ) has made a capacity accurate LFP swap in as well
@@Mobile_Dom may leave a link to those ...?
Those original clothes seats are so underrated; more cushioning; comfier than current generation.

Cloth is always better.

I know their buses.
Wow. Very nice makeover. Sometimes a little love can keep a good car going.
Garbage Time did that too. Turned out to be one of the funnest ones they have.
Would love to see the impact of fan though the transmission tunnel. Could it help drop the battery temp 1 bar.
Is next step is to change inverter to 160 kW and battery swap for 62 kWh to get more range and acceleration?
Lets see a muxsan CCS charging upgrade for the leaf 👍
Not worth it. MUXSAN is not able to deliver CCS conversions due to lack of components.👎
Phase to Neutral is ALWAYS ~220 or 230V, not between phases. . .
If its 5°c or less you can actually do 1000km challenge, at that low of ambient temp the 24kWh battery can't heat up enough to rapidgate :)
Incorrect. Leaf will rapidgate no matter how cold it is outside.

2990 € at muxsan

So what happens if you fart next to the gasleaking detector?
This will be fun. Isn’t there an 40kwh Upgrade available?
Yeah you can swap newer battery and spoof it as 24kWh via CAN.
There will be an issue because of liking uh lick uhm .. leaking! This needs to be fixed!
Would be good to source a healther pack or swap some more cells try and get it up to 20kWh
New battery is 21 kWh. You simply can't just "swap some more cells" and get 6 more kWh. You basically have to swap the whole pack with a new one.
