I would have to disagree, from a new players perspective I’m over 15 mins in and have learned nothing, says beginners guide yet talks about leaderboards, ranking systems and mf tournaments?? Like I need to know how to attack other cards😂 what do all these different abilities do on the cards?

I've been playing Gwent since the closed beta, I haven't learned anything new from this video, still I've watched it all with pleasure. Great job. One thing that came to my mind as a great addition for beginners would be a similar video like "A dictionary" explaining all those tricky terms we see in Gwent (like zeal, thrive, boost, etc).

Well I'm at pro rank, 11111 to be precise but I still enjoyed watching this video. Especially, the amount of work you did in collecting the faction footage is worth the applause. Plus there are rare tutorials who explain the coin mechanics that well. Will definitely share with some of my friends who I think would be willing to join Gwent in the future. Keep up the good work and a happy new year!

Started playing a couple of weeks back. Been struggling a lot simply because the lack of resources and shiny cards. Been looking at some decks but certainly took a moment to get all the scraps needed. And my first deck was precisely this deck. Been eyeing another one of Your decks, a Nilfgaardian one (Poison Ball Insanity) but once I had enough scraps I decided to look around for other decks just because. Found Vampires are back aaaand watched Your video. Then stole the deck and gave it a try. It was an amaaaazing change! Started winning 95% of the time :D All that was like 3 days ago xD Now i keep winning and climbing, rank 19 at the moment but I enjoy the Casual games lately. Trying to collect some scraps for some more decks cuz I got a bit bored to be honest. But it's normal, I'll try new decks once I have the scraps :D The deck is awesome, and it is a coincidence that I found precisely that one and this video only after I had to lose quite a few games to learn, but I learned! AND I COULD HAVE JUST WATCHED THIS :D Anyway, good job explaining all that! The game has good tooltips but still, some things I couldn't just.. know. Like.. when I skip my turn I can't play more.. (Yeah.. gave a won to a person like that and it was rather lame xD). Been playing Hearthstone in the past and I never got to play GWENT in The Witcher 3, because I wanted to go through the story :D So it was quite different here, in GWENT. A deep game, certainly! Keep it up, subbing and looking forward to learning more!

I wish this was posted a week ago. I played back in the beta but stopped around the time they did the base changes of 3 rows to 2 leader not being a card, provisions etc. Other card games have been recently been making trash decisions so I decided to come back but sadly found my account gone (RIP console) luckily I didn't have to invest money in beta thanks to the rewards. This was still helpful though to see how things have changed, still not a big fan of provisions but I get it and if that's my only complaint it's way bttr than other games. Now if I can just remember I can't early pass for card advantage turn 2 that'd be great.

Even tho the faction intro didn't help me, the fantastic edit and flavorful descriptions made it worth watching.
Won't lie, this is the first video I've seen from the channel and this was a very unexpected host for a geeky card game. Can't work out if the fact she carries such piercing pulchritude made the guide easier or harder to follow because with every on camera explanation the mind wandered from intake of important info. Having said that. The expertise shone through. Probably the best in depth guide ive ever seen on UA-cam. If you covered a large audience game you would be an esports star.

This video is indicative of your talents and passion for the game. CDPR should seriously consider adding a link from some of their pages to direct users to this. Admittedly, the length may dissuade some people, but the fact that you edited this into clearly labelled sections on the timeline is a BIG help! Great job, ma'am. I suggest to start with some tier 1 neutral cards which you can use in every fraction like heatwave and oneiromancy later. Then when it comes to the fraction cards, decide to go for one fraction theme/leader and look up some online decks with the best recommandations for that leader. For example monster deathwish. The cards like many monster deathwish decks have in common you should go first, cause they are probably the most important ones e.g. for monster deathwish Haunt scenario

    Excellent video, really useful!
It would have been great to see you play a game with the deck you chose to see how all the knowledge you explained gets applied into the game.

Amazing guide for the new players. Step by step explanations with examples. I appreciate that you covered every aspect of the game. I had basic - intermediate experience in GWENT from Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, and from 20+ hours of GWENT The Witcher's Card Game, but now I got everything better, thanks to your guide. Good luck in your next videos, guides and content that you make for us. Thank you for your work and dedication to the game! =)

the thing i hate about CCGs is when i lose, it doesn't feel like my opponent won through skilled play as much as it feels like they just won because they have better cards than me and then i start looking to see how to get those better cards and. . .$$$$$

    Hey TheaBeasty!
    Great beginner guide! :)
A little comment about devotion. It triggers exactly as it says in its description, so devotion abilities are active, when you don't have any neutrals in your starting deck. Well, in casual ranked games basically it is the same as you said in the video, like in a monster devotion deck you may have only monster cards (or MO/SY), but in draft mode (and maybe in some seasonal modes, I'm not sure) you can have cards from other factions as well, but afaik devotion still checks only neutrals. Another thing that I didn't know when I started playing, that the stratagem card also doesn't count when checking devotion.
Anyways, thanks for making this guide! This is a great thorough overview about the basics of the game, I would definitely send it to my friends if I want them to get into gwent :)
