- I have a short but jam-packed video for you guys today! In this video, I’ll share with you guys my horror story behind how I managed to ruin my NEW Louis Vuitton Nano Speedy, but also how I managed to SAVE it!
I was carelessly spraying the vachetta leather areas of the Nano Speedy and rushed the process which lead to colour transfer occurring on certain canvas areas of the bag.
I went on to Google, UA-cam and the Purseforum to research how to remove colour transfer on Louis Vuitton Canvas, how to save Louis Vuitton Canvas, how to remove marks on canvas, but nothing worked! Then, I remembered watching a video, many many years ago, on how the Coach leather mosituriser is good for Louis Vuitton canvas pieces, as well as Chanel caviar leather handbags. So I thought I’d give it a try, because I had tried everything I could think of at that point, and honestly had nothing to lose. So I purchased the Coach leather moisturiser in store and used a soft microfibre cloth to work into the marks on the canvas. It was a miracle! The white marks began to fade and after about the fourth or fifth wipe, they’d completely disappeared! I was so surprised, and SO relieved!
I couldn’t be any happier with the result. I would 100% highly recommend the Coach leather moisturiser for your canvas or calf-skin leather handbags. I would NOT recommend it for lambskin leather though. As with anything, do a small patch test first before using it all over your handbags and leather goods.
I hope you enjoyed this video and got a thing or two out of it! And I definitely hope you learn from my mistake so that you don’t make the same mistake yourself! I would not want anyone going through the horror and stress that I went through!

Tips and tricks as well! Use painters tape on the zipper and on main areas as they don't stick and don't leave residue! And on the canvas areas close to the vachetta you can just baby wipe off so it gets more off THEN use microfibre cloth 😊

So glad you had a happy ending on the nano speedy! 🥰 I prefer to use the Carbon Pro since it's similar to Apple Garde as many Australian's use that for their vachetta. I also use to colourfast my clothes in case I get colour transfers onto my bags ❤️

Good thing you didn't use the alcoholic wipe, it would have eaten the coating off the canvas. If you get hand sanitizer on your bag, it can eat the coating as well and turn it white like in your case. On the LV forums, they say you can use coconut oil to hide the white stains as well. You might need to reapply every so often.

Oh lucky!! I’m not sure why, but a couple of others have also told me not to use it on lambskin either. It must be because of the delicate/softness of the leather.
Hey, i wouldn’t recommend the kiwi brand. I use the leather protector from Wittner (the Aussie shoe company). It dries up as soon as you spray it 5 mins max waiting, no sticking or staining and have never looked back.

@@helloxluxury Also you have to shake the spray well spritz into the air first before starting on the canvas. Additionally you can experiment on a tan leather piece to weigh its performance. I had a fossil wallet that I tried on.

i'm really not liking the vachetta leather the upkeep and the care to not get water stains on it is just too much work 😰. i do like the nano speedy though you're so lucky to have one.
It is a hassle taking care of the vachetta leather but the monogram canvas is so classic! After collecting LV for nearly a decade and loving the brand, I thought it was about time I added a monogram handbag to my collection! 😅
Girl I would have gone into a full 100000% panic mode 🤣 I used apple garde when I still had this bag and all it did was leave slight shine to the canvas which I was able to wipe off. Glad you were able to clean it!!!

Great video - when you said alcohol wipes I just about freaked out! I watched a sales lady in a store apply it to a bag to remove a mark and took the colour right off of leather! She damaged the bag and I was horrified 😳. The other day I was on the phone with LV and about 3 times they told me do not put your sanitized hands on the canvas - wait for them to dry. I guess they are getting a lot of damages because of people sanitizing these days...

Hello! Thank you 😊 it’s held up super well! No signs of wear or stains at all. It has darken a little over time but that’s natural. I haven’t felt the need to respect it - I’ve also heard horror stories of spraying the already patina/worn leather in case there is any dirt on it and the spray bringing them to light, so I’ve left it and it’s still holding up 😄

Oh no! Hopefully the moisturiser works just as well for you as it did for me! I’ve been using the nano speedy a lot more now that the weather has been better and I’ve been loving it 😄 can’t even tell there used to be stains on it. The handles and strap have developed into a nice honey colour too ☺️
Do you think the nano speedy is a good first designer bag? I am looking to purchase my first designer bag
Honestly speaking, I don’t think it would be a good first designer handbag because of all the vachetta leather on it. This is my first handbag with vachetta leather, and I’ve been collecting luxury handbags for nearly a decade! I’ve always been so scared of ruining the vachetta leather so I would definitely say look into the Damier Ebene pieces from LV as that print is much more carefree ☺️ unless, of course, you’re not fussed about the vachetta leather darkening and staining and you love the monogram canvas!

I don’t own any other vachetta leather pieces that need to be sprayed, but if do, I will do a demo! The canvas doesn’t generally need to be protected as it’s really hard wearing and pretty much weather proof. It was just my own carelessness that stained it 🤪

You’re welcome! 💞 I hope it works on your Damier azure piece! You’ll have to let me know. Remember, patience is key. Just keep rubbing the area slowly, take your time and apply a little bit more product each time

I tried the coach leather cleaner and leather conditioner in my Damir azure and sadly it didn’t work… 😫😫.. it might be because red colour transfer is more stubborn than others… I’m going to try another leather cleaner and will see if that works otherwise I’ll just have to accept it…
Aww no, I’m sorry to hear it didn’t work 😩 the white/cream colour of the Damier azur sounds like it would be more difficult to remove colour transfer because it’s so white 😢 I think I was also very lucky because I removed it within hours of getting the colour transfer onto the monogram canvas

I love it!! After the horrible experience I had when treating the vachetta leather but fixing it, I’ve been using it so much! It’s so cute, it goes with almost all my outfits. I sometimes put a little vachetta leather luggage tag or a little vachetta leather tassel keychain from Organize my bag to accessories it ☺️ I might do an updated video on what fits and how I style it soon! ❤️

Is apple garde and kiwi bad for canvas? :)
I wouldn’t recommend getting it on the canvas. It’s mainly used on leather. However, if you do get it on canvas, make sure to wipe it off with a damp microfibre cloth immediately and it should be okay. Don’t let it sit on a white paper towel like me....... 🤪
Kiwi is good for prevent patina?
It’s definitely helped with my vachetta pieces! 😊 just don’t get it in the canvas, or if you do, wipe it off immediately 🥲

@@Greishart I wouldn’t recommend spraying the canvas with anything unless there is a specific product for canvas. Perhaps check out coach? They may have a cleaner or something of that nature because they also do canvas pieces. Sorry, I’m not aware of any!
