CLA45 is shit, I've driven one recently, the engine is amazing, sounds good, but rest is just crap. Cabin isn't that great, it really feels outdated and cheap compared to what you get in Audi or BMW. Handling was ok, but wasn't great either, although the ride was quite harsh. Also, rear seat space is just a joke. (also, most CLA45 owners I met are 18 yo kids sponsored by their parents, they don't even know much about their car, they just bought it to show off. meh)
I've driven the 718 Cayman and Boxster, and I enjoyed those so much that I ordered one for myself (base 2.0 model though)... honestly, yes it doesn't sound near as good as flat-six, but it's still one hell of a car. Can't wait for mine to arrive
Dmitry L I agree they compared this car to a standard corvette c7 and it was really close just 3-5 seconds behind. That's great for a car that has half the cylinders compared to its competitor.
I love both the 6 for sound & 4 for its performance! Yes it took me a week to get over how Porsche ruined my favorite mid engine sports car. However, with them finally getting the Cayman the power & steering & suspension that it needs the 718 is MILES AWAY from the previous Cayman in almost every way. I too will be getting a 718 GTS, u know, USA we need more power! Take it directly to my local tuner after the break in period for an extra 100 hp tune! My cars never stay stock! Cheers
if the cla 45 is ugly I can tell you the c45 amg is a beaut, or if you want something new, fast and easily hoonable I'm sorry but you need to consider the new mustang whether it's the ecoboost or v8, it's a beautiful car, sounds great and has plenty of room.
Was searching for a comment like this. He is just milking the ''Searching for a daily'' right now without reason because we would've watched this video even when it is called just a normal review/test drive.
I've had one for 8 months as my daily and it's an utter joy! And in person it sounds pretty good, loud enough to wake the neighbours trust me! Oh and just look at the thing, inside and out it's stunning I get so many people stop and ask me about it. I got Miami Blue, that's always the first thing people talk about!
There's nothing wrong with dailying a Porsche. If he's looking at that type of car to buy then that's up to him not you. So keep your stupid little comments to yourself
Depends if your buying brand new like the car in the video, then your not going to have to maintain it as its got warranty, and you dont need a MOT for 3 years and insurance well if your looking at these cars then it should be expected to pay a little more, but I dont think Paul will be paying to much to insure it!! As a daily it can be done, but personally I dont like little coupe cars like this as viability is pretty crap and 2 seats annoy the hell out of me as there is always that time when you need a car with more seats!! In my personal opinion a daily should have 4 seats min and have a decent size boot!!
I was fortunate to have a Cayman S (2008 - 11) as my company car. When I gave it back to Porsche it had 64k on the clock. I drove it all over the UK. A great car. Plenty of luggage space. Very practical.
So you have had two Audi's, which makes the S3 a little boring. You own Mercedes which I guess makes the Merc A45 AMG uninteresting. So try a BMW? M140i looks awesome and drives even better. All that along with 4 doors and a hatchback boot. It's exactly what you're looking for.
porsche turbo and turbo s depreciate like just as fast as regular porsche 911's and cost almost double the price. Its not a smart car to invest in unless money is a non issue
I have been using a Boxster as a daily for 5 years. I even went on long road trips with it. I can thus say that it is possible to use it as a daily, but it does get extremely tiresome. You will miss the space, it is hard to see out of and, like Paul said, you always, always, worry about it once you park it somewhere public. (Expecially in Italy...) Paul, listen to me! Try the Macan! It is fun to drive, offers space and speed, is comfortable yet sporty and simply feels awesome! Try it, not for me (I will trade my RSQ 3 in for one anyways), but for yourself! You will love it!
@@paulwood862 Your taste is your personal problem. Unfortunately for you many people like its look. You can just buy something else, like any mature man would.
@@paulwood862 Wrong. People buy it because it is a good daily driver who offers everything Porsche stands for while still offering space and utility. I have one, as well as a Boxster and a GT3 Cup. I used to drive the Boxster as a daily for almost 10 years. I live in a cold climate with lots of snow, thus the Macan is just better for my daily stuff. It is fun to drive, plenty fast for public roads and at the end of the day the only car I truly need. The others are nothing but toys. Fun, yes, but toys. Once you grow up, have responsibilities, a small family and bad weather 6 months a year, the Macan becomes great. Also, this is my last comment, because I now have to go back to work.
That is a proper nice car. I would like to see three things. 1. Pronounce Porsche properly 2. Get a nice watch on your wrist. 3. Drive it on some good B roads and you’ll understand the difference between the cayman and your audis
Of course you can take it shopping. This is why they are known as every day Supercars. If you consider seriously buying one, get the 981, flat 6 NA and way better.
I love both the 6 for sound & 4 for its performance! Yes it took me a week to get over how Porsche ruined my favorite mid engine sports car. Hey just in case you didn't know, the Cayman and boxster have a rear boot as well. Unlike the 911 which puts the engine back there. So that kinda makes up for the lack of rear seats, especially if you consider the fact that the 911 rear seats really are too small to fit people in them. Unless its like a really short skinny person or a child.
Tell us about the Turbo lag, and gear change speed. How is it on petrol and can you check the oil and fluids yourself? Also look at a hot hatch. Golf R I think is very underrated.
Golf R and Leon Cupra 290. Very similar cars but R is a 4WD while Cupra is an FWD. Let's compare these 2 and find out if today's high-end FWD is good enough for you.
TOMSMITH94 I wouldn't get a Golf R for him. It costs way more and is a lot harder of a ride. The standard GTI you won't have to worry as much about any problems or daily driving.
What I wouldn't get is your comment. Golf R has driving modes like upper-class cars or even supercars and it has none other than, well, "comfort mode". You select it and dumpers get softer, and yes, you do feel comfortable.
Inner Hammer it's a daily car. It is for moving boxes and driving in places you wouldn't want to take your nicer car. The Golf R is probably better, but you don't need that level of fun and worry in a everyday car. That is what the other ones does.
You'll get use to it in the car parks so I think u should get it. I would love to see this car on your channel every day because I genuinely love the looks of that car.
My family has had porsches and astons since I was born. One day dad bought a new golf r for a daily commute, said it was the best car he had ever driven
Camera mounted between the seats was perfect mate!!!! Invest in that second and third GoPro instead of always switching mounting location of the one camera. Personally don't care if you can see other cameras in the shot. Just keep mixing those angles up with forward facing interior and exterior shots
Why don't you consider a Porsche Macan? It's got all the features you're looking for: plenty of space, a new brand, a second hand one could be on budget, and sporty enough. Maybe a bit too big though
Dude, remember that the Cayman has a rear boot with more luggage space as well. It has a total capacity of 9.7 cubic ft. (front and back). I own a 2016 Cayman GTS and have no problem whatsoever for travelling with another person. Narrow spaces, well the Park Assist should aid you well there... and there are plenty of places you can go that don't have a laberynth in it for shopping. The only thing I personally don't like about the new 718 is its sound... no comparison at all with its previous version. Check out the catalog in Porsche's Website. Cheers. Great job btw.
i would think best sporty/fun daily car that u dont have to feel so stressed about would be one of the following; BMW M2, Subaru BRZ, Mazada mx5, fiat abarth 500, mustang, golf R, WRX, 370z, M3, GTI, Focus RS
How about the Macan 2.0T? It would make a really good daily as its not that big and it has the plenty of space with boot, back seats and back doors for access?
Please test out how often the cayman might hit or scratch at the bottom of the car from a speed bump or steep drive way. Also, how the ride feels like in bumpy roads. Will it be uncomfortable in normal city roads?
Porsche is better than Audi
Like if you agree or disagree
The Batman what about classic mini?
NateDogg27 Classic mini is small and slow
The Batman even in Orion Blue?
NateDogg27 Orion blue is a slow dull colour.

I love the new 718 boxter.
Cayman*
Bedders150 If it even was one, it wouldn't be Boxter but Boxster.
boxters are for people who cant afford a 911
GeXExtremist Maybe, they're still written "Boxster"
GeXExtremist lol u can't afford one shh
Thumbs up if Paul should test the 2016 CLA45 AMG!
I think he should look at the cla45/a45 and maybe the c43 too
The Gla45 is also a good contender
or at least a CLA 250 Shooting Break or a C300

Porsche Colchester paid Paul £300 to help sell this car. Salomondrin was right.
Well... would you decline an opportunity to drive a Porsche for 4 days and be paid for it?!
what was salomondrin right about? serious question, not like trying to make an argument or something here
Andreas Laier Atleast you got the joke lol
Well actually he mocks product placement, claiming he gets 300 bucks for showing a brand in a video..
7:34 mom's spaghetti
You should get an bmw m2 like if you agree
JamZ gaming manual
he probably doesn't want rwd so i think he'd be better off with a cla 45 amg
simon werling that's not a bad shout
He will buy a Mini Countryman

Thumbs up so Paul can see that we are liking the quality, camera views and editing. Keep it up!
Paul lets face it your never gonna get a 718 for you daily so why did you make this it's just pointless s
asp1 And how do you know what HE is going to buy ?
Was searching for a comment like this. He is just milking the ''Searching for a daily'' right now without reason because we would've watched this video even when it is called just a normal review/test drive.
Lots of people use Porsches as dailys. Why is that not useful for those people to see?
@asp1 the point of it is to experience the car, make a video, entertain us, and to make a little ££ to help pay for the next car.
agreed
Why not look at the porsche macan S or GTS? That gives you 0-60 in 5 odd seconds, with 5 seats and a big boot. A great daily driver for sure?
not sports car
His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy, driving a Porsche and crying already
Well, apparently you are not worry about getting a lambo by now but thinking about having a new daily car. Ok. What about testing a BMW M140i 5 door?
I've had one for 8 months as my daily and it's an utter joy! And in person it sounds pretty good, loud enough to wake the neighbours trust me! Oh and just look at the thing, inside and out it's stunning I get so many people stop and ask me about it. I got Miami Blue, that's always the first thing people talk about!
Maybe the Porsche Macan is another option 😉
Why the fuck are you even looking at Porsches as a daily?
Jack Owen because they excellent for daily driving. I own 2 so I know from experience.
eSysman they're expensive to buy, maintain and insure, they're not practical and not meant to be driven daily.
pussy

Next video: Could the Mclaren P1 be my next daily? Paul, stick to the A3's, CLA, A series etc...
Sounds shit, but a little better than the mustang ecoboost
Because the 718 sounds like a WRX STI. Really having issues getting used to that four cylinder sound! ugh
Why didn't they just lower the displacement and stick a turbo to it rather than removing 2 whole cylinder?
M2,3,4,5 would all be great dailys

Last gen Cayman GTS. That is all you need
Why don't you sell the amg gts and buy the 991 turbo s
Duncan Van Renswoude No.....He's selling his Nuke😂 that is Audi A3
Shaurya Shadez dumbass the nuke is a Audi A1
sry my bad.....A1
porsche turbo and turbo s depreciate like just as fast as regular porsche 911's and cost almost double the price. Its not a smart car to invest in unless money is a non issue
Buy a used one and skip most depreciation.

aint no lambo :DDD
Michigander Ferrari isn't bad. Turbo is awesome but the Porsche I agree is wrecked!

At least i think that how it goes
Do a bit of a walk round it, show the boot and bonnet, rear space and dash features
Ordered one of these in summer, getting mine in 2 week! So excited it looks amazing!
This editing is so much better than normal
get the Alfa Giulia quadrifoglio. Its a sedan so its practical, and it has 510hp

MuffMix too big tooo

I think you should try the Macan.. is it above your budget? it's pointless to try the carrera and the cayman! Try the Macan Paul
i even said you should test 718 cayman and then you did it :D. you should definatly keep it!
BMW M240i!! Fully Optioned your looking at less than £40k for a car with 341bhp and M2 levels of torque! Good deals on it too at BMW.
The camera angle at 2:48 is the best, you should do all videos with that angle
sounds like a motorcycle when it downshifts
sound comparison with 718 and old cayman
Jay Golds Why do that as pointless as an acceleration test
Audi RS6, 4 doors, good space for bags, etc & 560hp!! Best choice
too expensive

Macan S Diesel - like if you agree
Stage 2 CLA45....works great for my daily minus the rattles from the cabin, which aren't great.

MK3 Focus RS! You know you like how they drive, they have 4 seats and a big boot!
You should do a McDonalds Roulette in the Porsche !!
do you think r8 is a daily driver? Or porsche turbo? I'm choosing between these two...

BMW M2, Subaru BRZ, Mazada mx5, fiat abarth 500, mustang, golf R, WRX, 370z, M3, GTI, Focus RS
Buy it!
Buy the Cayman, can't beat the practicality as a daily true sport car. Also please talk about the options on this car whether you'd get them or not.
keep up
How about the Macan 2.0T? It would make a really good daily as its not that big and it has the plenty of space with boot, back seats and back doors for access?
how is it in town traffic, like you said in the car park are you worried too much about damaging it to enjoy it?
Show details of the options included on this vehicle. Does it have '030' sport suspension etc. Thx.
Macdonalds roulette please

What about trying the Volkswagen Golf R?
BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé?
youve got 4 doors, lots of space, lots of opportunities to modify and it looks/performs awesome
I'm telling you, Audi SQ5 lowered, blacked out. Yes its a Diesel but they are unique ish and quick!
1:28 I winced so much! look far too aggressive for that surface
Please test out how often the cayman might hit or scratch at the bottom of the car from a speed bump or steep drive way. Also, how the ride feels like in bumpy roads. Will it be uncomfortable in normal city roads?
OMG the road surface!!!
