When I was a kid I would jump on my bicycle after watching CHiPs on TV, after watching Levi's videos I jump in my sprinter van an go for a drive!
Cool van. I installed the V.C. 2.5" lift on my 2015 3.2 liter HR Transit. Installed 265/75R16 Trail Country EXPs on 16x8 Black Rhino Wheels. The van rides great. The V.C. lift is top notch. The weld beads on the brackets give me a stiffy.
With the new wheels and tires and the suspension lift, The Van is now starting to live up to its adventure Van status... Look so much better
Dude I would love to see a full cost breakdown of how much this whole build has put you back. Because it's sexy as hell.

Love the van mods, even the lift for most part but surprised to see such a thick spring pack going in the rear. Unless you've added 5000lbs extra weight, I can't see that ride being too smooth.

Good to know. I'm in the sun a lot, and wear an hat that people ask me about, thinking I wear it for the looks. But I explain that I wear it because I need to, it helps me, and that's why.
With that said, there are those who pimp their suspension for appearances, and not because they need to. And they well...

Make sure to protect the front glass on your RV or camper with window protection film from Clear View Products.

Have you thought about a set of max tracks. So you can recover your self more easy by building your own road 😎
Man, I did the same thing with my Sprinter, the suspension that comes with is s**t. I went with AO but its the same thing. Made all the difference in the world. Have to admit you got one more leaf spring than I did. You are going to love how you rig handles.

What is the roof rack and light bar system you have?. Love the lift, it's amazing
Now find out what the poundage of the nitro in your shocks is, then buy a nitro bottle and check your shock setting every six months or so. Also buy a zero-loss gas valve for the end of your nitro bottle hose. And and and....those shocks are rebuildable. Get them rebuilt every year or two depending upon your use.

Really appreciate your videos Levi. I have the same system on my 2017 Sprinter and it's hands down the best upgrade we did to our van, and we did a lot with our conversion! Thank you for making this video. I agree with you that it was the upgrade I wish I had done much earlier.

What's the point? The springs might be able to carry high loads, but the chassis is weak. If you just want a higher ride, why not air suspension?

Wife and I are considering a van (RV) as an alternative to a Jeep/motorhome combo for shorter trips and the ability to explore beyond pavements edge as I’m a landscape photographer. Not saying for sure that I need 4WD as it does create it’s own set of issues (expense of the parts plus the lowers fuel economy). Not planing on a regular diet of rock climbing or mud holes thus is 4WD really necessary?
Levi- don’t forget to tell Canada Customs about the upgrades on your way back north. JT and the boys in Ottawa will want a cut for their pension funds.

Sobas a 4x4 van which would you say is most reliable? A 4x4 transit 6cyl 3.5L eco boost? Or a promaster 4x4 diesel? Im torn between which to get ☹ i need a king bed, enough solar to power an ac unit at night, run a freezer fridge, laptop and little things 😍, im loving what youve done here! Im looking for room to put insulation, maybe water storage for consumption.
That depends on how much driving you plan on doing. A diesel with a DPF exhaust system requires adequate driving to regenerate. If you plan on only doing short commutes than don't get the diesel or you'll be dealing with check engine lights due to soot build up in the DPF.

I was wondering how the ride quality would turn out. I thought you might have a lot of broken dishes with such a heavy leaf spring pack...sounds like the expensive shocks did the job well.
How old is your van? At first I was concerned with the amount of rust found below but it seems that they are just mostly surface rust. Would an anti-scratch coating or weather coating the bottom of the van help? or it was totally unnecessary?

Go With The Flow of this size no, the amount of power useage would be massive!! Id estimate a 4x4 sprinter camper (old because the new style is electronically controlled) would do 1 mile per kWh, so even with the biggest tesla pack youd only get 100 miles, id say you want a 150 mile range for a camper you can use, so 150 kWh pack (about 30 grand),
something like a simens twin ac motor or maybe a tesla unit inplace of the transfer case as theyre really efficient motors.
Id budget 100 grand for a conversion like this.
There are people making campers from the nv200 vans, some full timers or people doing massive trips round europe!
Best advice is get the daily driver electric!! Change the thing you use most to electric.
(I know most of this from research into my own overland van, being in a 4x4 response group, and also converting my 4x4 to electric using tesla batteries, im also admin on a uk diy group)

If possible install a rear axle Posi Trac or rear air locker it will help.

Wow those rear springs are almost twice the size of that tiny rear axle.
The sunset over the shop as the man is say “She didn’t really want those things”😂. Levi, only you could make this content seem um slightly romantic? I’m pretty sure the only reason I watched this was because I kept telling the kids I needed a lift kit on the Odyssey kid hauler... just so annoyed at having to jump curbs to park at events and not really mastering, or just early morning pre coffee bumper curb encounters. Like, all Mom vans should have lift kits and full bumper car rubber all round, steel kitchens and a bed in the back... just saying 😂

Awesome upgrade man 👍. I had our VW Crafter LWB lifted a couple months ago by 50mm with a set of BF Goodrich all terrains, now thinking of upgrading the leaf springs and shocks after watching your video. What model fox shocks did you use?

Curious - does the rust come from Canadian winters? And does it mean you need to eventually do some kind of undercoat ?
Mostly mountain roads being super salted out here in vancouver kills the undercarriage. Undercoating is great but also a huge pain in the arse
