Such a deep take that covers all the cultural aspects of Golden Kamuy, not just Ainu. I appreciate all the work that you people put into the making of this video, from the script to the editing; It was flawless.
Asirpa is the only representation I've seen that's great so far, the historical information is amazing and I love that about this anime/manga series. I'm cosplaying her soon and not because she's just ainu but a favorite and idol character for me
This is one of my favorite shows. I only know of Japan what the media shows us since I haven't visited, and had no idea about the indigenous cultures of Japan, specifically the Ainu. Also loved the unforgiving setting of the story and often frigid conditions. This is like the perfect japanese "western" type of story.
I really love your stuff dude! It's extremely well made, and informed. It looks like something I would see from a major huge channel. Hopefully you'll make more of these videos!
When it first came out I got 2 copies and was disappointed because One would think it was in Ainu or at least the speech bubbles were translated I tried to ask the promoters in Sendai when they came ,and they said that it would be more expensive and there are a lot of materials for study. !, but an Anime would be the first ,so my idea is to learn Ainu well ,then Zoom copy the pages so the speech balloons white space get bigger and translate the Japanese and write furigana for the Japanese .I collected hundreds of phrases I can edit in and even make them saying different things.
Ohhh, do you know the Ainu language? I know means language and is a Japanese loanword for gold, so I assume would be used to adjectivize a word. Irayraykire!
Thank you for making this very informative video!
I learned a lot of things about the Ainu that I didnt know before
what i like about this series its a great story with history and doesn't fall into that noble savage nonsense.

Thank you for keeping it exclusively on the cultural aspect of the show and no heavy spoilers. I’m like 8 episodes from finishing lol.

Why is it not in the Ainu language Hem-ata Aynu itah an-i somo-kii ne-e no
Golden = Kin-kane Kamuy or-us-pe a-nu-ye-w-noka-ha = Anime Ainu itak ani a-nu-ye-kar-i-re kor an-kar-pe ne.
