You have never had the entire world's expectations and demands on your back. I remember so well when I heard this song the first time and how I thought "Wow what a voice this lady has!". 1984 to 1986 was a very busy time for me in my personal life. I had so much to do and it took about two years until I first saw a picture of her somewhere and thought "Oh, not only a lovely voice!". She was, is and will always be my favorite singer. She is the only celebrity that ever died and brought tears to my eyes. Since Whitney and I share a birthday on the same date, but I was born years before her she should have never left this world before me. amazing, so young, just turned 22. absolutely gorgeous and that voice... and that pitch, having the ability to hit those notes as strong as she did. she would actually get better with age, developing a lusher fullness to her voice.

At only 22 years old here you see her grow on stage right before our eyes. After she finishes the first verse she gives a little smile like she's saying to herself "Yeah I got this".
I remember so well when I heard this song the first time and how I thought "Wow what a voice this lady has!". 1984 to 1986 was a very busy time for me in my personal life. I had so much to do and it took about two years until I first saw a picture of her somewhere and thought "Oh, not only a lovely voice!". She was, is and will always be my favorite singer. She is the only celebrity that ever died and brought tears to my eyes. Since Whitney and I share a birthday on the same date, but I was born years before her she should have never left this world before me. Should I be allowed to enter Heavens gates when my time comes I hope I will have the honor of hearing her singing. R.I.P. Whitney!

I can't there is anyone (past present or 300 yrs from now) who can top this concert performance from her 1986 tour (at the age of 23) Absolutely mesmerizing, scary, beautiful and powerful all at the same time. What a wonderful performance! Her life ended so tragically. I look at this young, beautiful woman here and see the happiness and joy in her eyes and feel so sorry for her that all of that turned dark in her life. Drug addiction is a thief and steals peoples' lives. But this Whitney, before all of that, was a phenomenal talent and so lovely! No wonder the world fell in love with her.

So were Elvis and Roy Orbison, who could hit notes on the other side of high C, but that's just fodder for arguments and nothing more because there's no way to determine who's the "greatest." It's entirely subjective. I love Whitney Houston, and this is the greatest live musical performance on a late-night TV talk show I've ever seen, and I'm ancient, but is it the greatest live musical performance on a late-night TV talk show ever?
