It's what you do between 5-9. BUT IS IT THOUGH?

- Let's break down what 5-9 might look like for me on some days, what I assume most peoples' 5-9s look like, and why it's so hard to get ahead during the weekdays!
Personally I think it's what you do in the weekends that are more important. Not to say you can't be productive after work Mon-Fri but quite often it's hard to reasonably, and sustainably, do (in my opinion, for most people). What I've found though is you might be able to deal with enough little things during the week, to create big windows for yourself in the weekends!
Working from home since COVID has greatly helped me with improving time allocation to my hobbies and non-work items. Times are changing now but I'm certainly resisting going back to the wagie cage
Working from home/remotely and hybrid, game changers!
love the transparency! It feels like time disappears after work but i suppose if you spend time on what you enjoy then it really isn't wasted time
Appreciate it! Time absolutely disappears after work; even worse when it takes an extra hour or so to get home from work (whether it’s missing a bus, bad traffic, or just a long commute!)
I do find myself thinking that I have no time at my 5-9 sometimes. But to be honest you do have time it’s just that obviously the 9 hour shifts is way longer, if you genuinely want to achieve something and have a goal you have to neglect certain things in your daily 5-9. What I also do is I try to do my tasks as fast as possible, like eating really fast showering fast cleaning faster to just get that extra time. I have bigger goals, and I think god is putting us to the test because if you’re genuinely interested in chasing that dream of yours you have to go through this by not watching TV shows, if it was that easy then everybody would achieve their goals without doing anything but the meaning of a goal is pursuing it and hard work otherwise the goal is useless because there’s no deeper meaning behind it. Somebody once told me if somebody genuinely wants something he will make time for it. Btw really like your videos very calm atmosphere to get your thoughts straight
100%! The time is definitely there, up to the individual how they utilize it. And for sure, some sacrifices might need to be made in order to achieve certain goals! Sounds like you’ve got some big plans, good luck!
I completely agree. Think I’m realizing that it’s all about carving the time. And setting yourself up for success amidst the other things that go on.
Good stuff! Yeah setting yourself up and positioning yourself to be able to do the things you want to do is huge
Too harsh on yourself. Your evening is super productive: gym, shower, cooking, emails. All of this goes out of the window once you get kids, so enjoy it while you can.
