Thank you for sharing mine did not work with table salt it would not dissolve it boiling hot water, which I thought was very weird. So I tried sea salt which worked much better. It started clumping after adding the Castile soap, so I used mixer. It was a little more watery than I thought but soaped up really well in the shower.

Can’t wait to try this recipe! I’m just now discovering Castile soap and all its uses! I was wondering how long this is good for sitting in the shower? I made a honey scrub before and realized after about a week it would get a different consistency so started making smaller batches. I was also wondering if it stays emulsified or tends to separate? I used to make hand soap and it would always separate from the water I could never get it to stay bonded. Thank you!

Since water and oil don't mix, you should use a preservative even though honey is a preservative on its own but not when mixed with many other ingredients. There are many natural preservatives that you can use (optiphen for example) because it can mold.

I made the shower gel for the first time. It was a little thin, and instead of waiting for it to thicken up on its own, I added more of the soap. I put it in a bottle. Unfortunately, a few hours later, it was way too thick. Can you tell me how (if possible) I can make the shower gel thinner.
Your directions were great by the way.

Can you make larger quantities for this recipe? And how long will it last and not get spoilt?

I would imagine that if you use the aloe Vera instead of honey, you can double or triple recipe and it would last long

Great for 1st timers, but I have several issues with it, 1st Glass in the Bathroom not a great idea. 2nd there is water in the recipe, if your not going to use it with 6wks, then you need a preservative or it's going to go moldy. Get yourself some Optiphen+ and add it to this recipe.

Could you just add the salt directly to the castile soap instead of using water? Would that work and eliminate the need for a preservative?

@solshine972 make a small batch and use it quickly. Other wise use a preservative.

Can you raw honey? We have a bee hive ,and we’re always looking for new ways to use it.
