Young men, does not matter which side they were on, many were so young. Too young to have died in conflict. Rest in peace to all who lost their lives during the war, and to all who survived and have since passed on. One was my grandfather Lt. Arthur Witte. US Army, 1st ID, D-Day veteran.
Having watched a lot of these videos , I can see a difference between the German soldiers expressions on their faces and those of the American and British soldiers , it's hard to put words on it but solemn ,weary ,beaten ,,, more of a heaviness hangs over them , almost 6 years of war would do that , I guess
It was a hurtful time in history millions of lives lost trying to save others from a mad man who think he could rule the world, we all have a short life span snd what ever we do God will judges, their lives are in His hands He will decide if we will live again or stay dead forever,.

I agree with a lot of the comments on here even though the Germans at that time was our enemy they too were soldiers fighting for what they were told they were following orders just like everybody else. They fought long and hard for their country just like us they were heroes just like some of us, they should never be discriminated against ever but one thing I would like to know is who was the German soldier in the first and second picture

Germans are great. Hitler lost when he started fight with russia.. Either was not possible to defeat him at all. War never bring happiness. After WW2 Americans did the same job as hitler in middle east..
I have to be honest. There is just something mesmerising about the German soldier within these pictures, especially that symbolic helmet that they wore... just by looking at them , you knew that these men were well trained and experienced hardened soldiers of that war ..

I went to that alleyway on my recent tour. Felt surreal being there. Yes I know the pics were sort of staged while the guys were hanging around but they've turned into the most iconic pics of the European war...
Yeah I think because the adults one and experienced soldiers most of them died first and for replacement they need to forced their own youngsters to fight for the war.
You can see the weariness, the emotional drain, the spiritual hell those men have faced and, are facing in their eyes!!! No different than from any other warriors!!!

These and others were taken in Rots. The town isn't that big so it isn't too hard to find. The man with the bandaged head is Max Wunsche, the commander of the 12SS Panzer regiment. Not pictured here is Rudolf von Ribbentrop, who is sitting in a sidecar motorcycle next to Wunsche. Ribbentrop was the Son of the German foreign minister.

In the background you see Klaus Schuh. He Fall 1944.
Just search the names and you find a little bit about them.
