When my baby sis was playing rec soccer, I would drive her to practice and get my runs in from there. I had forgotten about those days until you mentioned you do the same! My twin sister played softball, so after games when I was training for my 1st half marathon, I would get my parents to drop me off at a certain spot (off the main hwy and on a county road) and I would run home from there. Loving this series!
I am girls’ father as well. My daughters have many activities every weekend. I will use the activities waiting time to do my marathon training too. I wake up 6 every morning for running all year round. We are on the same boat.
That’s awesome! I did all my full distance Ironman races before I had kids. With all there activities now I just stick to 70.3’s. Thanks for the sub and best of luck with your training.
Sounds similar to my kind of schedule, priorities, and sacrifices but my volume is more like 12-13 hours for a 70.3 with a peak at around 14-15 hours. It takes a lot which is why I take the commitment so seriously.
Typically the only holiday I get that my kids don’t is Good Friday which is coming up! So most of the time when it’s a holiday they are waiting for me to get done working out 🤣.
Really interesting, thanks for sharing your schedule! For how long would you say you've been working out daily-ish? And what was you training/exercise like before that?
I’ve been doing endurance training and CrossFit since 2008. I did taken a couple year break/cut back in 2017/18 when I was remodeling my house. In 2019 I can back and trained for a 100 miler and haven’t stopped since then. I do take about a month off in December when I travel for the holidays. I still workout and ski a lot, but it’s way more relaxed.
CJaye, my struggle has been working out in the morning. How long did it take for you where working out in the morning during the work week became a routine?
17hr average for 12wk pre taper.... mate you should be around 4:15hr/70.3 minimum, maybe get more sleep to recover and regenerate your central and peripheral o2 systems to higher levels...
During all the other times 🤣. Unfortunately with kids sport Monday-Thursday we don’t get a lot of time together during the week. Friday evenings and the weekends are when we get time, but that’s rarely without the kids. As they are getting older and can stay home alone a little we are starting to try to get out for dinner alone occasionally.

Being in a similar situation, I sincerely appreciate this kind of content
Thank you Christian!

Love your work and your content. Top quality. As a father of two girls who also wakes up at 4am. I can relate
Morning are my time! 👍🏼
This is a great video! I am starting to train for my first full. As of this moment no kidos yet so I have more time :)
New Sub 👍

Terrific, valuable content!
Thank you Jeff!
I do most of my training at night when the kids go to sleep at 8:30. As you said it's a sacrifice
Hats off to you! I’m such a morning person I’m not sure how I would do during the evenings.
Editing Skills are above average!! 🔥
Thank you 🙌
Amazing schedule Chris. No rest days?
I do take a rest day every few weeks. It’s either a total rest day or I do an easy swim and walk. I prefer an active recovery day.
Interested to know if you change your schedule when there’s things like public holidays etc do you increase training etc

@@CjayeMedia That's great, thanks for the background. Really respect the consistency you're able to maintain in training.
Great consistency. Do you take any rest days?
I will take one day every few weeks as an off day or an active recovery day with an easy swim and walk.
CJaye, my struggle has been working out in the morning. How long did it take for you where working out in the morning during the work week became a routine?
I slowly increased how early I got up over time. Is the struggle getting up? Do you go to bed early enough?
@@CjayeMedia, I think that may be the case. I can try getting to bed at 9pm.

I could only dream of that! I will do my best.
You didn’t mention when you spend time with your wife , you mentioned everything else
