- This works on any Nissan Murano, as far as I know (including the older models with monocrome "orange" display). With the engine running and the stereo "off," hold down preset #4 while rotating the volume knob counterclockwise (about 30 clicks), until you hear a short "beep." You're in. Have fun! I take no responsibility for damage to your vehicle if something goes horribly wrong (though there does not appear to be anything that can be changed from here, but proceed with caution anyway).

Yes, it's mine. I haven't made a review video because there's a ton of good info out there. I try to limit my videos to stuff that hasn't already been done, or there is little coverage of. Thanks for the comment!
I looked it up and IVCS stands for "Integrated Voice Communications System".
My Mazda3 has some diagnostics for the radio (signal strength meter, LCD test, speaker test, etc.) but nothing as fancy as this -- although it doesn't have auto climate control, navigation, or other frills, so there's not much else to test anyway.
Climate self diagnostics for Nissans are formed around 6 different levels called steps for every component aspect. 6 is the "Auxiliary Test Step" but still shows up as Step 6 xD
I would love to know why my back up camera has stopped working. it's just a blk screen.

Indicators (LED) of REC/FRE switch changes to “FRE” → “REC” → “FRE” every time the REC/FRE
switch is pushed. (These two do not turn on at the same time.)
Impossible to check rear window defogger switch operation (no beep sound even under normal status).

STARTING THE SELF-DIAGNOSIS MODE
1. Turn ignition switch from OFF to ACC.
2. Within 10 seconds push and hold the switches “PAUSE/MUTE”
and “PREV” simultaneously for 3 seconds.

You mean the color of the screen? the only way to change it is by getting rid of this mono-color display and buy a colored one. But make sure of the model no.

i have a nissan murano and it starts nomal but when put in reverse to head out it shuts off do ya'll know what could be?
Probably your interocular door swap negotiatior. It goes into self fluff mode and that can confuse the underrod lock.

She should be required to include codes, live data and diagnostics for the engine, drivetrain, ABS, SRS etc... No more of this hidden crap, dealer only BS. We pay for something they should INCLUDE the diags not sell special tools that only dealers and too few shops have.

Yes , car manufacturers want to make sure no one can decipher the computer . Well , if you buy a product it should be yours 100%.
My solution: NEVER again by a new car. I bought a used Murano last year, THEN one month ago I bought a 1998 Ram 3500 turbo diesel -- that I can work on. No computer controlled anything. No emission BS, no BS in general. I just finished rebuilding the engine. It'll be installed by the end of next week. I'm trying to sell the Murano -- But I have to fix that piece of crap first.

I have a 2007 Nissan Murano S with 192,000 miles and the S version doesn’t come with a back up camera can I get a back up camera that plugs into the factory harness and would it display on the screen?
For starters, I'm surprised you managed to get one of these damn things to last this long! With proper maintenance and care, mine started to fall apart at the 100,000 mile mark due to some questionable engineering on Nissan's behalf... but if you insist on keeping yours on the road, your best bet is to find another 2006 or 07 Murano with a camera in a junkyard and try to buy the camera assembly off of that vehicle, but you may need the entire wiring harness as well. As for the head unit, I'm not sure if it can be retrofitted or not.
BBISHOPPCM's World I never changed the cvt fluid and I change the oil every 3000 miles the only thing I changed was the radiator and alternator spark plugs and I feel like driving cars fast makes them last longer

Your CVT transmission has failed. That'll cost around $6,000 to fix. Don't bother with a junk yard transmission either, as they almost always fail.
This is all pretty much useless info from that menu, about the only info of value is the CAN codes list, but that can easily be gotten with a plug-in dongle anyway. BTW, you DON'T need to have the engine running, just AUX power key position.

I honestly don’t know… my Murano started falling apart in 2011 so I traded it in. Knowing what I know about vehicular electronic failures, I’d take a good look at the rear mounted camera module and check for signs of water intrusion/corrosion, especially near and inside the electrical connections.

No, IVCS was bascially the Nissan/Infiniti version of OnStar. It never took off and ended up being discontinued.

I bought a Murano 2004 from the first owner for $3,500 with 150,000 miles. I just had it for 5 months and now when I accelerate the whole car rattles (wobble) when I let go of the gas and its running a straight way it stops rattling. Does anyone know what the problem is?? Only happens when I accelerate.
Sounds like a loose heat shield to me. Very common and easy to fix.

No clue. I've never paid a shop to fix something like this. Get an estimate from a few shops.
kina lahi your motor subframe maybe rotting from the inside out. It was a common issue in your model due to the air conditioner condenser constantly leaking on it. The sound is from the motor literally rattling the rot
Im lietarally having the same problem. I just changed the spark plugs and they were black and it help alot. Still feel it a bit but im going to drain and fill the cvt fluid(transmission fluid) later today and c if that works.

I wish I could help, but I got rid of my Murano as soon as I possibly could. Furthermore, mine didn't have the backup camera option. At this point, your best bet is to see the dealer unless you know of a local shop who is familiar with modern automotive electronics.
we have the same car but I have a problem the starts and drives but when the Abs and brake turns on the dash board. The car wont accelerated anymore.. why???
Did a quick search and it seems you may have a faulty alternator, causing the engine to slip into "limp mode."
I had the same crap happen to me 2 months ago . Just had the alternator replaced yesterday and it works now!

DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION
The following are checked:
All the indicators (LED) in the A/C and AV switch.
Continuity of the switches by sounding the buzzer when the A/C and AV switch is pushed.
Continuity of harness between A/C and AV switch and audio steering wheel switch.

I have a 2006 MO with a stupid orange display. I tried what you did on mine but sadly nothing happened or appeared on the screen.
So it might be a 2005 model, the orange display came in 03-05 models.

Do you know the codes/procedure for the GPS map upgrade? I don't wish to pay a dealer 1 hour labor for pushing a few buttons.

It's likely a cold-solder joint inside the unit somewhere. Basically, you have a solder joint that only makes contact when the ambient temperature reaches a certain point. I wouldn't bother fixing it; these vehicles are absolute moneypits, and 2005 was one of the worst years for CVT issues.

Because your 04 Murano doesn´t have the color display, that was added in 2006.
Can be useful..... Wipers are annoying but it is what it is....
