Hi. your installation is very ingenious, I think I don't take care enough the procedure details of maintenance for my tank. You give me a lot of ideas and informations. So thank's for that. I glas to watch this
The tiger tail cucumber in my sons 5.5 pico reef is amazing at eating everything in the sand bed. Can you tell my your par reading at that level of light at the sand bed? I have a tall 20 and there are no par meters in town to borrow.
Thanks David, yes, minimal sand bed. It use to be a bit more, like 1” all over. But when I saw how much my phosphates were reduced by vacuuming it, I vacuumed most of it out. Just a small section in the back now. I would say “Not” for me. Less work. 😊
Hi old man reefer, have you ever had a problem with vermetid snails? I have some in my tank. I keep cutting them off the rocks, but i notice they keep reappearing in diffrent locations. I've watched other videos on UA-cam about how to deal with these pest and alot of people throw out their entire rock and start the tank over.
Haha! Old Man Reefer, that was a long time ago now 😃 I’ve had one vermetid snail ever, that I actually saw. I used a tooth brush to scrape it off. I know they are clam killers, but not sure about other stuff, such as coral. Keep digging 👍🏻😊
I usually use what’s leftover. After about a month I will rinse the container and add new Kalk. If you play around with the amount you put in, you can get it so not that much will fall out, and then you can add new each time. I have found 1/2 teaspoon per gallon does not fully dissolve.👍🏻
Good morning and happy Sunday all great video tom
Thanks IBEW BRO😊👍🏻happy Sunday
It’s a happy morning with Mr.Tom! 🐡🐙🐠🐟🦀🦞

Great vid, good points on the clean up crew I have nowhere near enough.
Thanks! Yes, you’ll see a difference with 1 of each per gallon 😊 especially if you have a bit to much algae.
My phosphate is .153 as well I got nervous but your right tank looks better at that number. Another great vid Tom.
Yea, you have consider what your tank looks like. If it’s all good, then the number doesn’t mean much 😃👍🏻thanks LVTPWSG 😊

Hi Lowell, directly under the light at the bottom would be around 150 par, The further out to the sides it goes lower down to 50 par👍🏻

Great video! I almost asked you about if you have sand bed but I saw you do, but is minimal right? What do you think? Sand bed or not?
