I've been using this meike filter adapter for the last 2 months with my Canon R8, about 10 full on photoshoots about 200 or more photos per shoot. I've been using the clear filter as they were so model shoots. I finally went back to the Canon adapter. Everything worked fine but it did change the quality of the photos. It changed it enough to where I'm only going to use it if I'm going to use the nd filter. I can see people thinking it doesn't change the quality depending on what you are shooting. But for what i was shooting it did do something odd with lighting where there was some kind of weird glare texture on all the models skin. Went back to the cabin adapter and the problem went away. I think the difference is the clear filter on meike has an actual filter where as the Canon adapter (the regular adapter) has no extra glass inside

gives canon the win for color accuracy... but just destroys color at max and slightly lower lol its even a few stops earlier then max. Next time test it with auto ISO and change the ND, you will see it better then just turning it to black.

I really wish Meike would get around to making an EF-L version of this.

The Meike has a weather seal where it mates to the camera body, does the Canon adapter have one?

Yes, the Canon adapter has a small black weather seal. All the Canon EF-RF adapters have the same design.

Thanks for the video. I think the Meike goes geenish. how is the AF ? as good as on Canon?

For video, I have not noticed any difference with autofocus between the two adapters. I haven't tried the Meike with still photography yet, though.

I have always had trouble with variable ND, lighter patches form as you rotate. I thought the K&F at £60+ shoud be good. NO.

I saw some bad reviews on the K&F, so I didn't get it. I have trouble with variNDs as well, but sometimes speed and convenience is more valuable.
