- Hey, #TGgang thank you for tuning into another one of my videos. After struggling with acne and hyperpigmentation for so many years, I am so grateful to finally have clear skin that makes me comfortable, especially here on social media, where I've received the most bullying.
My oratane journey has certainly not been the easiest one. Still, I am super grateful for my dermatologist, who was kind, patient and made the process bearable by ensuring I understood everything.
Acne is not always curable, and I fully understand that there still is a possibility of it coming back, but I'm one step closer to understanding what triggers my acne should it ever come back.
This video is simply a view of my experience and in no way meant to demotivate in considering oratane as a treatment choice based on the side effects I've shared.

Can’t wait for the skincare ingredients while on accutane.. on the side effects part, I think I’ve experienced all of them also and I’m on 20mg also, 1st week I had headaches, my nose are dry and I apply Vaseline inside, my body is dry,muscle aches in the 1st 3 months and mood swings, I’ve gained 5kg 3 months on accutane..I’m on my 4th month now can’t wait to lose weight. Can’t wait for month number 6

Honestly, trying out products can be depressing. Ever since I was on oratane, I use minimal products and my skin has a healthy glow regardless of the breakout.

Was on oratane and use uecerin products and neutrogena they really help

I am so worried about you Thandi. It seems that emotionally and mentally you may not survive another breakout. As someone who has skin issues myself, I know how exciting is to finally get s clear skin. But now I don't get excited anymore. I just know some if us aren't meant t have perfect clear skin.

I came back to listen to this, thank you. This was such great help. You went through a lot . Not just the passed 6 months but so many years. I'm really sorry even on behalf of the internet. I was fortunate that it was in my Matric year and I have been good since. I still get the occasional period pimples but I can handle that. I tried The Ordinary early this year and Lord behold I started breaking out again, luckily I stopped using the products before my skin got real messy. It's sad that people judge before knowing ones story, that's why I never ask about people's skin, weight etc because you just never know. THANK YOU for this video🙏🏽
What people don’t understand is that acne is actually a skin disorder that scientists still have not found a permanent treatment for. So it is a lot of work.

I am so glad that you mentioned your hairline disappearing, because my hairline went away and I tried to find articles online that confirmed that Oratane can do that but I couldn't find any.

God bless you for coming out to speak about your experience. If you haven’t been through it you wouldn’t know how it feels for real. Some of us have to be on medication for years before it all stabilises it’s just so sad that there’s so many ignorant people out there who just assume that because you don’t have ‘the perfect skin’ you don’t take care of yourself and stuff. I never knew it was so negatively steoreotyped until I experienced so my self!

Hi. Thank you for sharing. Am also on Acnetane, my acne was not severe, I would go for facials every month but stil have breakouts. I've also experienced dry eyes, lips and on my body. My Dermatologist also put me on birth control to balance my hormones. On my third month so far happy with the results. 🌻

Lord knows I tried every product, till I realised every time I'm on a contraception my skin is much better. Now I use that to control my hormonal breakouts.

My dermatologist put me on the same antibiotic with prescribed creams and after three months I went back and she extended it for another 2 months. My skin is looking better and she also told me that acne is a medical condition so you need to treat it from the inside out. (My acne was not that bad) but I am actually seeing her next week for a follow up as I am struggling with the pigmentation/dark marks.
I'm hoping that I don't go on roaccutan because I won't be able to handle the dry skin and cracked lips as my lips are vert sensitive.
But your skin looks amazing. Thank you for sharing this and being so transparent. The acne journey is not easy, it's quite costly but it is worth it.

My most secrets that actually saved my skin was learning ingredients, calming and soothing ingredients are my staple ingredients in any of my products...i hear you mention Panthenol is its one of soothing and calming Just to give an example
What I look for in a cream is aloe, Centella Assiatica, Madecassoside,Cica, ceramics, Peptides Humetants to maintain moisture in your skin for example Hyaluronic Acid, Beta Glucan are all ingredients you need , don't forget your
Sunscreen I prefer chemical as they has less white cast compared from physical sunscreen

I’ve been on Acnetret 20g for 6months. Cracked lips, dry skin, muscle aches, back pains, my face is pitch black way darker than my body. I’m always wearing long sleeve tops to avoid nasty comments, I’m constipated 99% of the time, there was a time I when I was eating all-bran 3 times a day. Prunes are in my daily diet.
I followed with my dermatologist, he prescribed Deriva gel and skinoren for dark marks and restoring my complexion
My dermatologist recommended I use the eucerin even pigment perfecter for the dark marks
