I love this conversation about opening up with mental health awareness. It's a huge stigma that oftentimes gets misunderstood so having these open and vulnerable conversations go a long way.

Working for Mental Health First Aid Missouri, I always find myself coming back to this video. It re-energizes me and re-inspires me. It reinforces that most people truly want to help, even if they aren't sure how. "I was thinking this person is in need of help. Try your best. Listen to them." Gets me every time. I share this video frequently, and will continue to keep sharing it. Thank you for making such a powerful and moving video.

This information is very highly needed and needs to be spread and there is no shame in having a mental illness or a substance abuse issue don't know each other story and anybody can have this at any point in their life we all need to stand together and help one another not put each other down listen understand don't point fingers and gossip

This is such an important thing to start doing. There is still stigma attached to mental health and I hope that by talking about it openly we can tear it down! I am finding this inspiring to share my own experience.

I've watched this video many times since 2018; more since my company introduced mental health first aiders (I'm one). It thoughtfully shows how you can open-up to conversations on mental health and Colene's point that people do generally want to help other people is spot-on. When I need help, my best advise is to simply ask 'can you help me?'. It's pretty rare people say no and if they do, it's usually only because they've got something else they have to deal with first so I don't take offence to that. Only by having the conversations can we build stronger relationships and mental health.

There should be more of this information on UA-cam. I found this to be rewarding and informative

This is wonderful! Everyone in the healthcare, mental health, education and socail work fields should be required to watch this video.
Know what to say, and how to say it when things become awkward could be the life changing action!

This is a great video but I wish there were more conversations with the people who didn't know how to react and why they felt it was hard.

I liked this video because it made me uncomfortable. That's a good thing.
