- This time at the Quick Speed Shop its another Neat Old Stuff Saturday. I have a really neat old Crouse Hinds Model D traffic light. This is an early exmple of the Model D with the cotton door gaskets, probably made between 1936 and 1945.
Please like, share, and subscribe. I put out new videos every Wednesday and Sunday.

Now that is cool, rewire it it place it up by the gas station. That for showing off the cool traffic light.
I think that's where it will end up
That's cool.
👍
Awesome little History Video! I always wanted a traffic light, but everyone wants an Arm & Leg for them! Great video like always!!
Newer lights usually sell for around $200
You are right, vintage lenses made in wooden molds at Corning Glass Works! Question? Why is it that green sees me driving and immediately goes to yellow as a police car is behind me? Do I stop fast or keep going? LOL Fun factual video today!
As Elwood Blues says "The light was yellow officer."
I like neat old stuff
Me too!
Cool!

Awesome 👍

👍🏻I put Christmas string lights in each lens, each one flashes. When ever someone comes over and asks how I got it to flash like that.
That's cool
Yesser...I have one of that model. Probably $400 to a collect. I bought 3 for 100...sold 2 and kept the best. Have yet to refresh and haing up
I had a rougher DT that was yellow and had the wrong lenses. I cleaned it up with correct smileys and sold it at Hershey for less then the costs of the lenses
@QuickSpeedShop man I wish I was closer to you I got an issue with an old 50s hotrod time capsule (newly purchased) 34 5w Coupe. I'm slowly getting it ready to cold start after 20+ years. Race engine 66/67 289 cobra. Unknown build info...Crane gen 1 aluminum roller rockers and I see a yellow cam down the dizzy hole. One rocker is split. I have partially rotated the engine, got a few push rods not delivering oil. My next move is to continue to manually rotate motor and retest manually, driving the oil pump hopefully get everything oiling. Then consider finding a replacement rocker arm or replace all.
well 400 bucks who would of thunk it I put a sequencer on mine as you mentioned and was missing the covers too so I took a aluminum stop sign and bend pieces over my knee cut to fit looks legit also might be of interest to note that they also have a puck that you can drop into each socket then screw in your bulb and they will now flash cheap and easy.
Thanks for the info 👍
I got that same light with the peaked hoods, it was removed from a draw bridge in my area some time in the 60's, i was told from my uncle who gave it to me. it has two green lights and one red.
Super cool!
The 8 inch signal head used a 60 watt bulb the 12 inch used a 120 watt bulb.
Thanks 👍
The green lens looks blue to me.
It's blue-ish, not really green like new lenses. These are also slightly faded from years out in the sun
my town got it's first & only traffic light 2019 everyone partied the night away mayor set up a dunk tank gas station parking lot brought in mini donut/pronto pup venders that light is our golden gate bridge
That's funny. My town doesn't have any
You need what is called a traffic light sequencer. I had one that worked for years and just quit the other day. Need to replace it.
I'm going to get one
