  • This time at the Quick Speed Shop I bought a 1934 Ford Fordor hot rod survivor, last on the road in 1967! This car was towed from CA to NY in 1967 and put into storage ever since. It shared a spot in a barn with a 1963 Corvette, fuel injected car by the way, until the barn fell down on both cars. The Corvette was moved by the owner, and I bought this car. It's a true California survivor, in mostly original paint, very straight and very little rust. Let's dig in and check it out! Barn find, old hot rod, survivor car, 1950s hot rod, Henry Ford, original paint, back in the day, will it run, will it start, saving an old hot rod.
    Please like, share, and subscribe. I put out new videos every Wednesday and Sunday.

      Ain't that the truth. Saving all your money until you're too old to enjoy it is a bad plan!

    Josh...ive got a barn find 34 vid from this year... You may want to look at that basket case to appreciate yours more. Ha ha. Same scenario...building roof gone bad dumping water inside for years. Great vid!

      I'm really lucky to have found it. I had been casually looking for a few years for an original paint 4 door, and I can't believe I found this car.

    The front wishbone looks like it was changed at the back, done to allow more room for a wider trans.

    • @QuickSpeedShop
      @QuickSpeedShop  11 місяців тому

      The trans mount location was crudely torched out

      It's really solid for where it was stored. The entire 2nd floor collapsed around it and then it got rained on for a while.

    Prewar sedans are worth the trouble. I rebuilt an orphan 32 4 door, lowered and stretched, not chopped or channeled. 4runner steering, F1 axle w/disks, 300 6, mustang 3 speed, 3:10 9" diff, really smooth cruiser. Considering that really nice P/U in your yard I'm figuring you're gonna end up with nice paint instead of a rust job.

      Nope, I wanted an original (or mostly original) paint car. It will get new floors, glass, and shine juice on the exterior.

      Ok I admit I also have an original faded paint car but only because I know nothing's hidden. Most incredible bit about the sedan I built was a moonroof top out of a 60 bird fit my sedan really well. The 4runner steering box really solved for the dropped axle and bonus was 40 Ford steer wheel. Looking forward to the running gear you go with. @@QuickSpeedShop

    That car must have really been something to drive all of the way to California then tow it back.

    • @QuickSpeedShop
      @QuickSpeedShop  11 місяців тому

      It's a California car. The owner towed it to NY in the late '60s along with a '63 Corvette!

      I didn't talk to him, his friend was selling it for him. The PO is pretty old and kind of a hoarder. He had it registered in CA in 1967 so he must have been pretty young then as that was almost 60 years ago.
