How to NOT Store Cars

- This time at the Quick Speed Shop I need to unbury my abandoned hot rod Model A coupe from my garage. Hoarding is a problem and I may have it as junk seems to accumulate everywhere including a round my hot rod. After I clean out the garage I fire the car up to find that it needs an oil change, the alternator is loose and the brakes need adjusting.
Please like, share, and subscribe. I put out new videos every Wednesday and Sunday.

Oh that little car is cool, That 4cyl does sound ccool it it. Thanks for the video Josh. 🙂
Awesome little hot rod you need to soup up the four cylinder cam and Weber’s 😂
I could, but I'd rather do something cool like swap in a flathead V8.
Very cool car!
Thanks 👍
I suspect there are many 2.3 engines out there that could replace that one. That’s a neat setup.
Yes, but they are all worn out. The newest ones are almost 30 years old now.
I like that 4 cylinder in there! Good idea!
It works good, aside from being noisy and having no oil pressure
The older the coupe the younger you feel?? Sweet ride!!
The more times I have to fix stuff the older I feel!
@@QuickSpeedShop LOL
That car runs great. I would just rebuild the motor. Maybe a little hotter cam?
I don't really want to spend the money on the 2.3L when I could put something cooler in it
Still my favorite car of yours! Check out a remanufactured long block for that 2.3?
Don't want to put any more money in a 2.3L setup. Longblocks are almost $2000 now
Wow, $2K! Sounds like bearings and gaskets are the right plan. Everybody has a V8 Flathead, keep yours unique with the 2.3. Hope you shoot a video of the trip to and at the Tonawanda show!
Every time you post a video on this car, I go back and reread your HAMB build despite missing pictures. You amaze me!
Yeah, when photobucket went out it wrecked a lot of forums
The 2.3L has no soul. I plan to update the car sometime in the future with a new chassis, engine, '34 truck grille, and flathead
Hoarded out
Not quite yet...
If it's been parked for a while, change the timing belt.😁😁 Has the relief valve in the oil system been cleaned at all? It maybe stuck partially open.
The belt only has about 6000 miles on it
Car looks great but It’s so strange hearing that ‘modern’ engine in the car, I understand why you would put it in, but perhaps alter the exhaust sound
Hope you’re able to sort it out 👍
It's got a Porter glasspack on it! I'd like to swap in one of my running flathead V8s and some point and make it a real A-V8 hot rod.
Do you still have the small flathead v8 from your 37 Ford engine swap? Might be a nice replacement. Small enough to fit and would have enough power to move the model A.
I do, but that's worn out and would be a step backwards for this car. Right now it has about 85 hp and can go 70 mph. That V8-60 is only 60 hp and probably wouldn't have enough torque to get this car moving or maintain highway speed. It topped out at 50 mph in the '37 due to 4.44 rear end gears to compensate for the tiny engine.
I think " patina " must be Latin for " needs paint ".😊
It has paint on it, actually two layers with primer in between
No I dated patina back in the 90s. Lol. Still the best car joke ever!!!
How much oil pressure does a 2.3 typically have. I've seen alot of fresh 4cyl engines have between 26-32 psi
Not sure, but when I put the engine it had about 50 psi. Now it barely makes 35 at higher rpm
Model a or 32-34 are my dream cars im stuck with 3 late 40s early 50s trucks. I will trade ya?
Model As are cheap now because older owners are dying off. You can get a really clean, running and driving stocker for $10k or under now. I built this car for $8k, but that was 12 years ago. '32-'34, now they are still popular and still bring good money.
Yep im saving my pennies right now!!!
sounds like the alternater bearings are gone
Alternator is brand new and tight
not an acceptable way to treat the american flag either. ;)
i really dig this hot rod though.
Old dirty flag I saved from the garbage. I'm going to clean it and rehang it.
Why not store car 😂
👍
So you are saying its not abandon mmmmm nice click bate
It was abandoned and buried for almost a year...
