13-2 had a good story, and probably one of the best villains in any game I've ever played. Caius Ballad. His power, his look, his reason for turning bad... unreal.
@@manoharalisa5829 So did the previous few games, and the previous games also had really boring characters, whilst I liked everybody in here. I obviously like Lightning, because she's a badass warrior. I thought I would really hate Sazh and Vanille, but they're decent, B+ characters, I'd put them. I thought Hope was going to be dumb too, because he acted cowardly, but he also becomes battle-hardened and strong-minded, so he's an A+ character
Although it's not the best game in the series, it has the only opening sequence that has made me cry every time I see it because of the gorgeus visuals and the fantastic music
even its been more than 10yrs since its release, its still have one of the most gorgeous visuals in the ff series, imagine if this game is open world and isnt just linear, exploring that huge space technological area will be breath taking already, i still love the gameplay of this game until now its still one of my favorite, so much fun to play
No, it is definitely not the best way to tell a story what are you talking about? Most stories follow a linear pattern, this is true. But limiting the world to a very, and I mean VERY linear playthrough without giving the player other places to explore is NOT the best way to tell a story. I don't think it even qualifies as a "good" way to tell a story.
@@kaneda7368 FFX was also linear and told a great story. The problem with FF13 and FF15 is, they feel reaylly repetetive while playing them. No variery at all, and the story wasn't spectacular enough to compension it. The battle system btw was great.
Lightning was honestly such a great main character. Despite reluctantly becoming the leader of this troupe of castaways, she actually developed relationships with each members and had her capacity as a person challenged. She sympathised and was similarly in the same predicament with Sazh, fighting off a regime and running against time to save family members. She rejected Snow as a person yet grew to see the good points of her soon-to-be brother in law and exchanged memories of their shared beloved person. Fang’s brash personality and laidback way of life clashed with her yet they became such a powerful combat duo, harbringers of chaos and destruction at the end. With Hope, she saw fragments of her past childhood separated from her parents and took on that role to mentor and encourage him. Vanille most likely reminded her a lot of her younger sister, and the Fang-Vanille sisterhood dynamic was probably why she was able to come to terms with being a L’Cie.
Anybody played through the Nautilus chapter when Sazh was in that... case/coffin? I cried. All like, "Why you kill the funny black guy with the adorable son?! :'( " then to find out he was only knocked out by Nabaat (sp?) and was like, "YAY! He is alive!" Then got mad at myself for crying over pixels.
Let me see, Lightning had a lot of character development, I think she's one of the better FF protagonists, Sazh, he's just fucking hilarious. I mean seriously. A black guy (not trying to sound racist) with an afro with a chocobo chick in his hair? Also, the graphics, are just absolutely PHENOMENAL. Just look at some of these locations, THE ENTIRETY of Gran Pulse, The Lake (I forget the name of it, chapter 2-3 IIRC). The story, probably my favorite so far from the franchise.
I just had to vent and state my piece about Final Fantasy 13, and to the people who don't like Final Fantasy 13. First of all let's start with the soundtrack, almost every track was custom orchestrated. Do you understand the cost, and production value in that statement? Also featured two vocal artists with there own careers, and albums, upping the production value, and lending momentum to this particular chapter. Second of all, this was also the first 1080p HD Final Fantasy, setting a new president for the franchises visuals, and it's aesthetics. Allowing the franchise to express a more accurate depiction of the stroy that they are trying to convey in this chapter. Is it no wonder there were so many cut scenes , and was that so bad? Granted sure.. It may have been a little linear than previous Final Fantasy games, but the depth, and detaile in the storyline, and characters was definitely surpass, or at minnimal up to par with the Final Fantasy standards. My point being further proving they were able to get three games out of the storyline. Personally I felt a lot of freedom, and free roam once I got to Grand Pulse. I farmed CP, completed missions, explore different locations, and defeated certain enemies at my leisure, choice, and discretion. Third, the voice acting. We in the US version got extremely lucky in the fact that are voice actors look similar to the characters in real life. There's a little magic in that, and the reason why it is fortunate, and relevant is that it makes for a more realistic experience. This is true because facial expressions, mannerisms, and jesters, etc. are more true to form, and since they look like there characters, there disposition in life comes through in there voice acting, thus making them more relatable, immersive, and quicker to empathize with. Last is the overall feel, which I think it stayed true to the script of all Final Fantasy games which is, a group of preordained destined people, who's paths lead them to team up, and coming into there own, in a stand up futuristic society ultimately saving the world, defending ideas, cultural believe, or politics of a unjust minority.
FINAL FANTASY 13 SUCKED Just kidding, but now that I have your attention..... I don't understand why everyone always needs to enforce their ideas on people. Like, not just FF13, WHICH I enjoyed, but when it comes to most things. If you enjoyed it, then good. If not, then good. Like, it should be up to each individual whether they like it or not. When I see people bashing on a certain game, it kinda gets me mad, regardless of whether I like the game or not. Like they say "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it." Anyways, sorry for the rant but I was getting fed up and seeing your comment made me want to add to it, lol.
Yeah but 7 looked like dog shit and yet was better than 13. The problem with 13 is vague story telling, poor voice direction, and tedious level design. The rest is fine.
I played this game in 2011 and 2010 was the best year of my life until now. Even not playing it on 2010 the US version came this year, so its a game from this year. This opening and this music gives me a feeling os sadness and happiness at same time. Amazing.
So far this is one of the best intros I think. It's well made with top notch graphics. It's short sweet and to the point without really giving anything away. And it definitely draws me in and makes me want to play really badly.
I enjoyed the XIII trilogy, have gone through it twice - well, LR once, - and will happily do it again. Watching this has made me want to start a new playthrough now, in fact. Also, it has to be said, but whilst I didn't mind the game's linearity Cocoon was such a fascinating place - tech, architecture, the society - and it is a shame we didn't get to see a lot more of it.
