Throughout the New Testament we read that Jesus came to establish a kingdom. In the opening section of the Gospel of Mark, Jesus begins his ministry by proclaiming, "The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!" (Mark 1:15 NIV) His preaching, healing, and exorcism ministry continued throughout the Gospels as a demonstration of the power of the coming kingdom of God. Indeed, in the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples to pray, he asked of the Father, "Your kingdom come, your will be done..." (Matthew 6:9)
Later, the kingdom also proves to be the substance of the Apostle Paul's gospel message: "He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ-with all boldness and without hindrance!" (Acts 28:23).
But what exactly is God's kingdom? Do any and all acts of kindness or compassion qualify? Does it exist outside of the church? In today's Seven Minute Seminary, Dr. Scot McKnight makes the case for what he calls a robust kingdom, which is marked by at least the five following qualities:
1. The kingdom of God has a king, and this king is Jesus.
2. The kingdom of God has a king who rules.
3. The kingdom of God has a distinct people.
4. The kingdom of God has a law.
5. The kingdom of God has a land.
The Kingdom Of God is a spiritual kingdom which abides in the the hearts of the True Worshippers of God, who love God with all their heart,mind,soul and strength, and love their neighbors as themselves. And the purpose of this Kingdom is to be a light in this dark world by being witnesses for our Savior, Jesus the Christ in the hopes drawing whosoever will to Christ before God destroys this present and evil world , and create a new heaven and a new earth. Thank you Scot for a very easy to listen to and understand message about the Kingdom of God. I have recently come across a text that explained the KoG in the following words: " The Kingdom of God is anywhere where Jesus rules. It is in any place or heart where HE is loved, welcomed, obeyed, and imitated. I just realize that this short explanation aligns with your teaching. What a privileged people we are! let us continue to be courageous witnesses wherever God places us!

Amen! Thank you for sharing, I believe that Jesus' teachings on His kingdom, and subsequent commands, are one of the most overlooked/forgotten/ignored areas of scripture. He is the King of Kings, Lord of Lord's, President of Presidents! He is worthy!

Jesus is already seated on his throne. The Messiah is an eternal King. Those who obey His commands (His disciples) have entered into His kingdom. On the last day when all of His enemies are put under His feet, His disciple's faith will become sight as the King rules from a new earth and the disciples will inherit the Kingdom.
That is the Good News! The Victory is already assured. That is what we have been commanded to proclaim to all the world.

Jesus brought a new (and true) understanding of what kingdom means; which is simply his metaphor for awakening. Christians, beholden to the mythology of the OT have misunderstood this for millennia. Read Luke 17:21… it’s right there!
I'm not certain that all of your requirements were met when Jesus said " .... the Kingdom of God is within you.
That just means “Jesus is within you.” The King is HIS Kingdom. Christ in you...

Regarding point 5. Jesus speaking to the Samaritan woman and Pilate seems to indicate that His Kingdom is not land but spiritual.

1 Peter 2:9 and Revelation 5:10 says that his chosen people are to be a royal priesthood and a kingdom. Over whom will the King (Jesus) and his saints rule in the coming earthly kingdom?

What bible passages in the bible indicate a renovated physical earth ?
The kingdom of God is within you has often been explained to mean that it's among you. I.e. as in Isa. 45:14, "God is among you," as in He Himself.

The 'good news' was and is that Jesus is King. He has 'been given all authority.' 'Authority' means His commands, teachings, and directives for living and lifestyle (whether qualities of being or external expressions) are the 'New Law,' (i.e., the New Covenant).
As the sovereign ('king') in His kingdom, He is the laws-maker and (ultimately) the enforcer-executor.
If you are not genuinely devoted to knowing and understanding the demands He makes, or to valiantly observing them, you can't expect to be counted as a legitimate citizen in His Kingdom.
The kingdom of God? Effectually, it's wherever Jesus' rule is respected and adherence is faithfully pursued. It's really that simple
Good insights. I think it would have been helpful to place the "social justice" misnomer into one or more of the 5 ideas so that people can see it's relevace. I think the Rule and Will catagories both would have a social justice aspect. When I think of passages like Psalms 72, Matthew 25:31--46 or Luke 4:17-19 and many others. I think it is important to give those Christians with social justice leanings help to properly understand how to frame it. Ascribing where it goes would have been immensely helpful.

The Kingdom of God is inside of you and the only way to go inside is to meditate/contemplate, otherwise you'll be thinking about it all your life and never find it.
But where will the kingdom of God be on earth or somewhere in galaxy will we have eternal life in spirit or in flesh. Why people or Christians believe that those who died will have eternal life in spirit not in flesh. Don't you think it is nothing but confusion created by Christians.
Jesus told Christians to pray for God's Kingdom to come and for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. God's Kingdom is a heavenly government ruled by Jesus Christ as King. Soon Jesus as King of kings will bring beautiful changes to the earth. There will be no more death, pain or sorrow on earth, Revelation 21:4,5. No more wickedness on earth, Psalms 37:9-21. The righteous hearted meek ones will inherit the earth and live forever on it, Psalms 37:29; Matthew 5:5; Proverbs 2:21,22. The earth will be cultivated into a Paradise like God intended in the beginning, Genesis 1:28: Isaiah 55:11. Jesus will do on a grand scale what he did when he walked the earth including raising those who are asleep in death, John 5:28,29. There will only be one government over the entire earth, God's Kingdom government, Daniel 2:44, forever! Jesus said that this good news of the Kingdom would be preached about in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come, Matthew 24:14. The confusion lies in what people believe, not what the Scriptures teach! Jesus talked about two hopes! Allow a prophet to reveal to you the difference.
Jesus must reign until he has defeated all of his enemies, all power, dominion, and authority then death itself. Then he will return the kingdom back to the Father so that God may be all in all. This is the beginning of the kingdom of God. We know that death is defeated by the time the asteroid in Revelation 9 strikes the Earth opening up the bottomless pit aka the abyss. Men will seek death but it will not find them. They will long to die but death will flee from them.
The beginning of the kingdom of heaven is on the space ship called "the New Jerusalem" which will go to a new Earth.
That's the difference.
Lord Jesus Christ is on the throne Rev 3;21 which territory is that? Gal 4:26 Paul says that Jerusalem aboue is freee and our mother. What is the connection with Jerusalem on the earth?

Thank you for your explanation about the kingdom. I wonder if you could expound on the notion that Jesus said His kingdom was not of this Earth, which seems to contradict the "land" principle you explained. John 18:36 states: "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place." (NIV). SInce we are subjects to Jesus as our King and Ruler, and we follow His commands, it is implied by His teaching to Nicodemus that we are doing so in a Spiritual capacity - so the spiritual notion of being born again is what connects us to the kingdom that Jesus is talking and teaching about. It is a spiritual kingdom and not a physical one, yes? It's boundaries are not subject to the land formations of the Earth, nor are its members obligated to defend an Earthly kingdom realm. Anyhow, thanks for your efforts to teach on the subject.
Fred, I would reply that Jesus was referring to the source of His Kingdom authority, not its effect. In other words, He didn't derive His authority to rule from this world (in that sense, His King's Dominion was not of this world). However, its effect is most definitely felt in this world.

The kingdom is a restoration of what God set up in the garden of Eden. God always wanted to dwell amongst us , and it was sin that separated us from that communion he establishes little kingdoms IE the tabernacle where his presence is but they are pictures of what is to come and in the gospel, the kingdom, the good news is announced with the culmination of Jesus becoming our king when he is in inaugurated on the cross with the crown of thorns & robe where he is now seated at the right hand of God he has established the Kingdom of which he is now ruling , but it is only partial,with it cumming to completion when he returns where we have access to the tree of life, Rev 19 what is our res erection body's if we are only spirit ?
No you are absolutely wrong. The kingdom of God will be established right here on earth forever. World does not mean earth. Don't forget the word "forever " that came from God's mouth, do not challenge God's word, God promised that he will transform the world, there will be universal peace, everyone will know God. Isaiah 11:1-10, there are many other verses in support to God's kingdom that will be established right here on earth.
🤯🤯🤯 I always wondered what matthew 6 33...I think it was (sorry if I'm incorrect) meant when it said something about search for the kingdom of God first, I was like...so am I suppose to litterally look for a place?? I was talking to my friend and a deacon on phone (bible study, and was my first time with them) and based on what he said, I was like wait....so ur saying the kingdom of God is us?? The people.. I could not believe it. So what am I suppose to do now, now that I know?

This is the Jehovah Witnesses ploy to guarantee a "salvation" by man's works alone. One of The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society's (JW) foundational doctrines is that Jesus Christ is a created being. In other words, they deny the deity of Jesus Christ.
Allow a prophet to reveal to you the difference.

I could explain it better with specifics but it will not be understood anyway.
Why not? Because God requires people to do one thing, and then "He should heal you".
Heal you of what? Healing from the condition He has put on people (Isayah 6-9), which Jesus has reiterated, ending with "And I should heal you".(of that condition)
So if I would take it upon me to explain it to others, I would be trying circumvent the will of God without you having done what He required and thus without being healed .
I have tried to do this, before I realized what I was doing and it did not work anyway.
What I can do is explain my methodology.
1. I narrowed my study exclusively to the 4 GOSPELS venerating the words of Jesus above everyone else. (Unless the Lord Jesus referred to other texts.)
2. No input from flesh and blood, period. ("Thank you Father for revealing it to the babes and KEEPING it from the wise men")
3. Ask questions addressing Lord Jesus, every step of the way. If I have no question I make up a question.
So the Kingdom is the church????
WHAT JESUS MEANT BY SOME PEOPLE NOT ENTERING THE KINGDOM OF GOD (PSST…NOT HELL!)
Most of the Jews of Jesus' day believed in an imminent Day of Judgment-- a large Citizenship Court Hearing, that a new king, called the Messiah, would conduct following his arrival to oust the Romans from Judea.
For those Jews who had been faithful to God, the Jewish prophets promised citizenship in this coming kingdom--the new, independent, theocratic, Jewish government the Messiah would set up, beginning in Jerusalem and, from there, eventually, spreading to all the rest of the earth!
To be clear, this "Kingdom of God," was not some pie in the sky, but a real, earthly government, with a lot of people working in many of the administrative positions, and all the perks that would go with them, like nice places to live!
This new state of Israel was the "inheritance" God promised the Jewish people once they repented of their sins. But it was obvious, especially in Jesus' day, that not all the Jews were living according to what the Law of Moses and the Prophets said they should, but just doing whatever they could get away with under Roman rule, to live it up, even at the expense of their fellow Jews!
These errant Jews were called "sinners," and the ones thought to be the worst sinners were the "publicans," those who collected taxes for Rome by defrauding their fellow Jews.
The faithful Jews, however, believed the Messiah would grant citizenship in the new Jewish government only to the observant Jews, and the "sinners and publicans" would be exiled and regarded no better than all the other Gentiles, if not worse!
Jesus of Nazareth spoke about this coming Citizenship Court Day, but he added another element to it--that many of those who were claiming to be the most righteous for all their outward piety would actually end up worse off than the "sinners and publicans"! He said they would not only fail to receive some of the really good jobs in the new government of the Messiah, but would not even get citizenship at all!
In fact, he said the Messiah was going to look at all their phony good works as if they are just a bunch of dry sticks and have them (the fake good works, that is) all "burned up"! Then, they'd have to leave and, in effect, be thrown out into the "cold" of exile from the kingdom and, as they're leaving, they would be crying ("weeping") and their teeth would begin chattering, ("gnashing") from the metaphorical sense of "darkness" and "cold" they're going to feel when, in complete contrast to all their expectations, they'll end up being the LAST ones to ever get their citizenship!
However, it's not that Jesus said anyone, not even the self-righteous, would NEVER get their "green card" in the coming kingdom of God. He did say the "sinners and publicans" would get theirs beforehand!
But let's be clear, it's nuts to think Jesus' many warnings to the self-righteous and fake pious people of his day would result in, themselves, getting burned alive in some spirit world after they die! It was only due to a real misunderstand of Jesus' teachings about fake good works getting "burned up" by later Greco-Roman converts to Christianity who thought he meant to say the exiled would, themselves, get burned alive!
Thing is, there are false preachers and teachers who are perpetuating this mistaken idea as if it were really true!
The real question, though, is whether or not Jesus truly believed in the coming of a literal Jewish state run by a special king! It would appear that he did not! Sure, he spoke about the coming "Kingdom" in the terms most of his listeners would understand...but only to call out the religious hypocrisy he felt had run rampant in his day. Toward the end of his ministry, he began to openly say what HE considered the REAL "Kingdom of God" to be-- a "place" located only in the hearts and minds of PEOPLE (Luke 17:20-21)!

Do not try to understand what Jesus was saying by thinking of what you have been told by religious teachers. They can only repeat from the scriptures and have no personal knowledge of the Kingdom of God or Heaven.
God is not contained within any one place but is everywhere, as are the heavens and air above you. The Holy Word spoke truly when it says: in God you live, move and have your being.
For the Kingdom of God is above, around and also within you - and you can enter the Kingdom of God.
But what is it?
It is a state of mind and heart which is fully possessed by God - our Father. When you are in this state, the Father is the head of your body and directs everything you do and all of your life.
How can that be?
It is possible to be so emptied of selfish desires, enmities, angers, jealousies, greed, and vindictiveness that only God is left in control within your mind and heart.
What happens then?
Then you enter into the State of Being which is God-directed. It is altogether beautiful and glorious. It is Love, it is generosity, it is caring for other people as you care for yourself, it is non-judgmental since you accept other people exactly as they are, knowing that they too are God’s children and are equally in the Father’s care. It is happiness beyond measure, beyond description, it is joy in the beauty of the world, it is life unlimited and increased energy, it is health and it is the fulfilment of your every need before you even know that you have such a need.
You suffer because you do not understand how you have been created, and the true purposes for which you were born.
You were born to be sons and heirs of the Father, you were born to enjoy all that the Father is in Himself, and all that He can give you. But you turn your backs on all the glory of the Kingdom and try to find pleasures in earthly things. While you do this, you will never find the Kingdom of God; nor enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
How shall we enter the Kingdom?
Jesus has already told you. You enter the Kingdom of Heaven when you repent of all that you are in your heart and mind. When you take your evil to the Father and ask forgiveness and pray for the strength to be cleansed of your evil thoughts, words and deeds, and you finally get rid of them, then you may be sure that you are about to find the Kingdom of Heaven. When you have accomplished this, you will find that your attitudes towards others are changing, for the Father will be doing His Love Work within you. You will be free of the chains and thongs of evil desires and deeds which previously bound you and made you a captive in the world. More than this, you will find that the Father does satisfy your every need.
The Kingdom of God is a heavenly government located in heaven; the spiritual realm.(Matt.5:3,10)
It's members are a limited number from earth, that have been selected by God(Luke 12:32;Re.14:1;Hebrews 12:22,23)
The Kingdom will eliminate all human rulership(Dan.2:44) and will rule over the earth(Re.5:10) for a thousand years.(Re.20:6)
The earth will be inhabited by the Armageddon survivors(Re.16:14-16;Psalm 37:9,11,29;Isaiah 11:6-9)

The path we must walk to reach the Kingdom of Heaven is indeed narrow and absolutely straight.
We may jump the path - but when our travels have eventually shown us that we have made a serious - even bitter mistake - we will find that our only sensible way forward is to get on the path again. Since our wanderings may have led us to create many - many blueprints of agony and sorrow - these will await manifestation in many ways - even as we struggle to master our awareness anew to regain the path. But they will also cause us to seek God with greater fervor than before. Therefore - there is no "wrongdoing" in jumping our path - no judgement of our choices of our actions - only timely lessons bringing us back to the path. This is followed by the most blessed relief - as again we become the recipients of what seems to be heaven-sent blessings and new joy in living.
Believe me - as we are now - we are not ready to bring about the Kingdom of Heaven. There is much talk about it - longing for it - belief that spiritual evolution has lifted us into a mindset capable of bringing us into the Kingdom of Heaven. But a great deal of this thinking is self-illusion and self-delusion. We forgive ourselves our mindsets: our thoughts - words and actions because we are in the world - fettered and blinded by the selfhood. We struggle bravely to adopt a more loving way to think - feel and respond to every experience - but while we remain within our awareness - the selfhood will eventually win.

Seeking 1st the Kingdom of God became my priority once I believed Jesus Christ 💯. I have faced what is talked about in the scriptures, the whole world around has hated me ever since whether it's my friends, family because of the name of Jesus Christ. I have had the most peaceful life ever and my priority now daily is to treat others exactly the way I want to be treated if I was in their shoes.

Josephus was not always accurate and basically wrote his own religion as a historian. The Bible from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21 is the truth and it cannot be added to or subtracted from.
Nothing he said contradicts the Old Testament it the messages of Jesus. Jesus came to preach about the arrival of the kingdom of Heaven.
The Kingdom of God is a real goverment established in the heavens. Jesus referred to it as "the kingdom of heaven." Jesus has been appointed by God as King. Although it is located in heaven, God's Kingdom will rule over the earth. In fact, Daniel 2:44 states that this Kingdom will intervene in human affairs and, at some point in the future, destroy all other earthly kingdoms. It will be the only Kingdom ruling over the earth. That is why we pray for God's Kingdom to come and for God's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. The meek will inherit the earth and finally there will be true peace. Revelation 21:4 says that there will be no more suffering and death.

This kingdom is the next age (Millennium) and our qualification to rule in it via the judgement seat of Christ. God has always sat on the throne of His creation so no specific kingdom there. Jesus is our high priest now, not king, read Hebrews to alleviate total confusion. The kingdom here is the heavenly kingdom over the earth which Satan now owns, but will lose in the Millennium. Jesus will rule His kingdom with rod of iron, dont see that now. This kingdom was removed from Israel and given to gentiles, how can you give an intangible kingdom away? You need to study more dead sea scrolls or something.

@@suryakumar5260 1 Cor 15.25 speaks of Christ in the Millennium where He will be king, not now as He is our high priest to intercede for us, Read Hebrews who's gist IS Christ as high priest. He is prophet, now priest, then king for 1000 years. Rev 19.16 speaks after the tribulation during His second coming. Jn 18.36 states His kingdom is not NOW. Eph 1.20 speaks of His position as high priest, not king. 1 Tim 6.13 is a non sequitur.
1 Cor 15.50 says flesh and blood can not inherit the KOG, so if the kingdom is now, you have no part in it nor any other. We are (those that are worthy) changed into a spiritual body (flesh and bone animated by the Holy Spirit) to enter the KOG, but after the rapture at the JSOC.

@@suryakumar5260 That's correct, the KOG is not of this world yet. Now is the time to qualify for this future kingdom through salvation of the soul/sanctification/fruit(works). This kingdom was taken from Israel and given to a nation that would bear the fruit of it per Mt 21.42, otherwise we would be living in it.

At Jesus coming and it will be at the end here what will happen: Rev.20: 11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
