My dudes! Just wanted to let you know, that I love everything about your podcast. Top tier stuff - discussion back and forth, the pacing is on point - and I could go on and on. I don't know where to begin or end. So here is an unoriginal "THANK YOU"!
Funny you brought it up but Spider-Man PS4 was life changing for me. The emotions, the gameplay, the music, the story. It was perfect. And I remember finishing it and wanting to share that feeling with anyone I could because I felt it so deeply
Great episode as always. I audibly laughed out loud to myself though when Epos said “I don’t get Mario.” It’s Mario man. There’s not much to get lol. Totally fair that he didn’t play the Mario games growing up, but like it’s Mario. There’s not much to get.
Another great podcast. watching your MotorStorm gameplay reminded me of when I used to play it at Target waaaay back. Man loved it, I wish they would bring it back.
Life changing games is hard, but I'd argue Kingdom Hearts is what got me into gaming in the first place, and Persona 5 is what got me back into it after a hiatus. Both are incredible story-driven narratives that are stylish with unique combat and mechanics and topped with some of the best OSTs in gaming. Like I said though, I took a break from games for a bit thinking they were unimportant in the grand scheme of things and probably a waste of time. But then I thought back to all they taught me, like reading skills you mentioned or how many of them left a lasting impression that shaped my morality system or love of a good puzzle. Thinking through it, games are such a unique medium in which you are the driving force of progress and change within the game, how and where it progresses, etc. Most other activities such as shows, movies, books, etc. you are only a passive passerby. I lost sight of that at one point, but I'm back and ready to go.
Yea I got a pc and it does give me joy with all the content I could get out of games I already played, but any time the things shitting out I’m just thinking of how nicely and simply my box worked
I'm inundated with so many subscription services that I already don't make full use of. I get decision paralysis if there are too many option and will end up either doing nothing or going back to a comfort game. I also have a backlog of games I already own and need to play through. And as a person who really likes collecting physical games I'd end up needing to spend more in the long run so it doesn't really make sense for me to get Gamepass.
Anyone curious about game developers and different hurdles they have to go through esp from leadership I suggest all of Jason Schrier's books, esp Blood, Sweat and Pixels but all three are great, the most recent is about the rise and fall of Blizzard.
You guys pointed out the big issue. Appeasing investors. The stock market corrupts every fucking business. I think the stock market needs to be outright abolished. Let the game creators create. The film industry has already been destroyed by market research.
I’ve mentioned it before, but SpiderMan on PS4 is what brought me to love video games a whole lot more after just strictly multiplayer games. It made me love games again with a way different perspective.
I'd love to hear y'all talk about how to revisit a game with a significant endgame after you've beaten it. I'm trying to burn through my backlog, and I'm really enjoying it, but when I finish something like Horizon: Zero Dawn or Diablo IV there's a lot more to do after the main story is completed. I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate these bits into the routine, since I don't want to grind every game to 100% before moving on to the next one, but I also want to keep churning through the long list of unplayed or unfinished titles.
Thank you both for another awesome episode. Was especially interested in the last topic on the games that've impacted us personally - for me, that's without a doubt Persona 5 Royal: everything from the virtuous characters, incredible music, uniquely insane visual style to both charming and intense story, its themes of rebellion, overcoming one's pain, moving forward and finding a place to belong deeply resonated with me and definitely changed my outlook on life in general
I have a question for you guys, or anyone really, it might also be a nice segment in your next podcast maybe. Anyways, I’ve always wanted to get into Elden Ring and the souls games in general because I’ve heard nothing but amazing things and it’s definitely up my alley, but the problem is I get angry and frustrated easily and it’s hard for me to actually enjoy those kind of games, so how do you deal with the frustrations and anger you might have when playing Elden Ring and others? Thank you, I realllllly love both your guys content and I love this podcast
Kingdom Hearts 1 changed my life before it had even started. It released less than a year after I was born and I played it when I was a toddler. Instantly became a massive obsession, (the first hyperfixation, I call it) and nowadays I consider it to be less of a game and more of a religious experience for me, linked to my very soul and emotional core. Not much excites me like a new KH trailer and I wouldn't have it any other way. Long live Nomura
I was very excited to see more about expedition 33, I just wish it wasn’t coming out the same day as fatal fury, argh. Too many games and too little time!
Yo Fatal Fury looks like an awesome fighting game, just saw the art style for City of the Wolves and it looks so cool, like 3rd strike and 4 merged together
My guess, with the ballooning costs of PCs over the years, largely due to GPUs (looking at you Nvidia), Xbox may start pivoting from the console space to the budget PC space with Xbox branded PCs that have a curated gaming experience similar to Steam Big Picture for use while gaming, but still has a Windows experience in the background for regular PC activities.
I personally like that the xbox has a lot of backwards compat games I already own digitally and single player games of modern era often run as good or better then my mid range PC, but also has quick resume on multiple games as a one. I'd like to own a PS5 but I have a PC to play whatever they end up porting. So this is "why" I own an xbox. If you already own one of the consoles its really up to if you want the others.
in my opinion an xbox handheld thats basically a windows handheld (ROG ally) but cheaper than the ally/steam deck with its own OS skin that makes it close to a steam deck in terms of ui would be nice and could bring me back to the xbox brand as I'm fiening for a steam deck
Imagine a world where Microsoft focuses more on Game Pass and authorizes official 3rd parties to make Xboxes. Microsoft can continue to make middle ground consoles and lets 3rd parties to make low and high end versions. Let people choose which one they want knowing they will sub to Game Pass.
Bro, that video came out 9 months ago.... how have I not heard about this. IT was all for the show!?! Yo one hundred percent talking about this next show. Wild, absolutely wild. Thank you

You guys HAVE TO play Spiderman 2018 and Spiderman 2 2023
Top tier experiences and just straight up FUN
Love the podcast guys, great work
Why buy an Xbox? For the last time. To have access to the best deal in gaming natively, without the expense and complications of a gaming pc!
Yea I got a pc and it does give me joy with all the content I could get out of games I already played, but any time the things shitting out I’m just thinking of how nicely and simply my box worked
Until ps5 has game pass I will always have a ps5 and series s. Truly the best of both worlds.
@@Xtreme-cg8ss got the Yin and Yang. :D

Ninja gaiden is back!
Hype! And with Platinum games co-developing, so stoked
@BBKDRAGOON yeah I never played any platinum games until last year. Now I'm going through Bayonetta, it's so fun and over the top.

Have you guys watched “The chainsaw hoax” video by Laura Fryer?
