We didn’t let the summer end last month without going back to the stunning Kai Iwi Lakes. It was love at first sight for us when we had a quick stop just two months ago and promised to be back and stay longer.
Kai Iwi Lakes is located 30 minutes out of Dargaville. It is a recreational park for walking, biking, fishing, and camping. In the Summer months, the campgrounds are always full so be sure to book in advance.
There are range of walking tracks on the grounds, the longest of which is about 2.5 hours and takes you right around Lake Taharoa. We did the shortest 15 minutes track because we didn’t come here to walk but to chill by the lake.

the scenery of Lake Taharoa is more beautiful than Lake Kai Iiwi , right? I mean when you stand on the beach and look ahead to the lake
