Oh man, I love the Risk of Rain 2 OST so much. Love Chris Christodoulou's work! I would love to see Con Lentitud Poderosa on the channel, it's one of my favourite pieces of game music probably ever.
The issue with Con Lentitud Ponderosa is that it builds so masterfully off of the soundtrack from Risk of Rain 1. Without the context it's still a great piece but it punches so much higher with the knowledge required to truly appreciate it.
@@ellpoyohlokoh Coalescence is a great tune in its own right, and the musical throughlines between the games is awesome for a fan of the game, I just don't know how much it'd mean to Tony as someone who is entirely new to the franchise. I thought about mentioning it, but as individual pieces of music I enjoy the instrumentation of COn Lentitud Ponderosa more, it's a lot Bigger and more complex, and I think it'd be a better react 😛
If you're a fan of complex rhythms, I'd say this is the soundtrack for you. Many of the songs are in 5/4 or 7/4, the composer employs polyrhythms everywhere, layering quintuplets on top of every beat they wouldn't ordinarily be applied to, and you never stop hearing new layers and aspects that you missed on the last listen.
Fun fact about this song, it shares a motif with its inspiration song “purple rain,” which was written by prince, now referred to as “the man formerly known as prince.” Combining these titles gives us “the rain formerly known as purple.”
It should be said that both this song and this entire 29 songs for the games ost (including the dlc) was made and produced by just Chris, so everything you hear is all him
The fact you said "_____ Player" is awesome because this is all one guy, and I love that. It's awesome what talent Chris has, and the fact that you took this as a piece composed by multiple people really shows and emphasizes that talent.
Little fun fact about this track, it's a sort of successor to a song from the first game called Chanson d'Automne - that little lick you noted at the beginning of the song is lifted from there. Someone else mentioned hoping you do Con Lentitud Poderosa in the future, which is similarly a follow-up to a song from the first game named Coalescence. Even if it's not in a video, hugely recommend checking those out for a little context/to know the songs that preceded and inspired these (and also recommend them to anybody listening to this for the first time here). Also, the composer for the games, Chris Christodoulou, has done commentary videos where he listens through the whole album and goes over his process and thoughts from making the tracks as they play. Super interesting to hear about that stuff from him, recommend checking those out as well.
The whole Risk Of Rain 2 soundtrack is amazing and i see a lot of people recommending a lot of different songs, but i would say that the next two best songs on the whole OST are "...con lentitud poderosa" and "You're Gonna Need a Bigger Ukulele". Rally unique and fun songs.

@vovagusse ok, not pulled, but HEAVILY INSPIRED BY *WINK WINK NUDGE NUDGE*. It's the part where any first time listener says "hey, thats purple rain!" Not taking away from Chris's ability, as was said already, this is an homage to prince and the influence is worn on its sleeve intentionally.
