    I had complete tears in the both shoulders, that had to be replaced (with Bovine). They told me that when we lift our arms above the shoulders we should squeeze the shoulder blades together to avoid tearing. Also I's hoping you'd show where the Supraspinatus that goes over and through the Acromion shoulder bones and those are the ones that mostly get frayed or torn.

    I was playing football about 14 years ago. When I went to tackle someone I overreacted and my arm was pulled back... hospital said it was most likely a sprained. Yet it felt like if I put my r
    Arm out 90 degrees and leaned on a wall it would pop out.... over the years it has felt like it has torn again, but never as bad. Last time was about 6 years ago. I was loading something that weights about 150 lbs onto ladder racks. When I lifted it it was pushed back. So my arm was straight up and went back a little and it felt like it tore again. I've been working out and I started doing shoulder lifts and get scared. Only 25lbs on each arm normally, but I did 40 the other day. I just get scared it will happen again and I don't have the money for a doctor 😕

    I hurt my right side rotator cuff after a hard fall with my extended arm trying to absorb the impact. I suspect a tear but don't know full/partial, at the beginning could not raise my arm at all, after two months I am almost pain free and can lift it up, but there's a small asymmetry when I look at both arms extended (Vitruvian man style), with a dip showing in the damaged shoulder. Do you think I should trust this to get better on its own? So far the best I have been doing is swimming, I was wondering whether I would be capable to swim, after the injury, and to my surprise I was. After the first day of swimming, the day after I felt horrible and thought I made a mistake and probably injured myself even further, but after that first day of recovery, I felt my shoulder joint much much better, it was quite miraculous. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

    Bad posture? Omg that's the last cause. The most common causes are aging and repetition. Bad posture should not have taken precedence.
    AND
    A full thickness tear is not just weak. It HURTS.

      Full thicknesses tears heart very much special when doing anything physical ,cold weather ,windy muscles very weak you need strong muscles to hold you arms .Healthy young people cannot understand what is feel like having pain 24/7 and not being able to do much it's devostating ,frostirating ,debilitating losing you indepedence .I have been suffering from full thickness tears over 5 years have operation of one shoulder didn't get better only more problems and lack of understanding.It's very hard for me listening to people who don't know what's going on with it .Medications just take edge of pain than chronic pain and live with the pain

    You said that the rotator cuff and bicep kind of go together. So what if the person tears or fully tears both?
    And wouldn't the bicep be at risk if the rotator cuff is damaged

    Great job! I was hoping to hear more on the shoulder blade involved in the injury. I see there is a tendon going down the shoulder blade from top to bottom, I experience pain directly on the blade when I lay back, Can you make a comment on that? Thank you so much for your professional assistance.

    Some people say exercise over surgery and surgery over exercise... so who do you listen to....

    • @RehabRevive
      @RehabRevive  3 роки тому

      Great question! We always want to take the less invasive route. There is always risk when you start involving a scalpel. Which is why you'll almost always hear Dr. Lin advocate for all other modes of treatment before surgery. With that being said, there are times when surgery is necessary. It's best to be checked out by your local PT or Ortho and always get multiple opinions!

    Whats your opinion of stem cell injections for partial tear injury?

    • @RehabRevive
      @RehabRevive  7 років тому +1

      For partial tears, there may be benefits from physical therapy as stated by Dr. Lin. As for our stance in regards of stem cell injections, we do not have enough knowledge of this specific topic to provide an answer.

    I have a full thickness tear of the supraspinatus tendon in my left shoulder with a defect measuring 3.3 cm. Contrast extends through the rotator cuff. There is also undersurface delamination of the supraspinatus tendon. These are the findings of the radiologist who did my Arthrogram MRI. After meeting with my orthopedic doctor who viewed my MRI he said I would require surgery to fix this.. I am a 60 year old blue collar worker who also despite my age was in great shape as I have lifted weights 3-5 times a week for many years & have always been a workout fanatic. (until this injury) I would like to continue to get back to workouts at some point down the line. I am going to get a second opinion soon but was wondering in the meantime if you could give me your expert advice after reading all this. Can this type of thing heal on its own & would PT do any good at this point or do you agree I need surgery? Thank you

    Please HELP: I impacted the ground after flying 30 feet at about 28mph.
    I went to a Orthopedic Specialist/Surgeon who didn’t accept my request for Imaging and didn’t take the time to comprehend the dynamics of my injuries of Bilateral Shoulder + Rotor-cuff RUPTURE (happened in Hawaii in 04/2013) Which we’re secondary to 5 spinal fractures (‘broken neck’ c5+6 plus Thoracic 7+9 compressed into T8 causing Compression BURST fracture with 60% bone loss to T8 healing as a Wedge fracture). I continue to suffer with severe pain daily.
    Seeking solutions. Now residing in San Bernardino County nearby Rancho Cucamonga in California.

    I have a full thickness tear of the distal supraspinatus tendon with delamination into the infraspinatus tendon. I have excruciating pain and at times dead arm with pain. So full tears are very painful and I'm scheduling for surgery.

      ThunderLightenBolt I have a full thickness tear as well at 56 I am a home builder and I lift weights 3 times week, my pain isn’t that bad and my range of motion is fair to good with most movement although I can’t curl any real weight with my affected arm, the docs want to operate but my worry is that I’ll be worse than I am now and miss a lot of work, being the only one of 4 adults that make any money in the household doesn’t help

      I work pain free as long as I stay aware of what I’m doing like I won’t carry 2 bundles of shingle up the ladder but 1 is fine and it’s all anyone should do anyway
