    LYRICS
    Beweeg je niet Don’t move
Zie hoe de zon langzaam onder gaat See how the sun slowly sets
De straat die steeds stiller wordt Streets are getting more quiet
Sluit je ogen Close your eyes
    En beleef opnieuw And relive
Vouw je handen samen met gedachten ineen Fold your hands together with your thoughts
Zorg dat het beeld niet vervaagt Don’t let this image fade
Vergeet niet in de haast om even stil te staan Remember in times of rush to take a moment to stand still

Breng een ode aan de dag Bring a hymn to the day

It's great to hear this combination of piano, harp and bass with vocals. I don't speak Dutch, so have no idea as to the meaning of the lyrics, but I do know that these are sensitive and talented musicians, who have a lot to say (musically speaking) - and I'm listening!

They bears a touch of melancholy, especially nowadays in these troubled times that we are all enduring.

    Hi everyone!
Thank you so much for watching our video! A new year has begun and we have a lot of great things ahead of us. But we also want to reflect on our special experience in 2018 releasing our first live CD! We are very proud of it and we’re really excited about the fact that it’s possible to order a copy from all over the world. If you’re interested, you can order one in our shop: www.syamusic.nl/shop-cd-sya/
During our studio session we got five of our songs filmed. This video is one of them. For those of you that don’t understand the lyrics, you can find a translation in our UA-cam description. We hope you like it!

Dearest SYA ladies! I found you at 5:45 am today (Saturday, 1/25/20) and did not want to sleep at all. I first watched 2 of your popular English covers and this is only the 3rd one. What a beautiful song this is! I subscribed to your channel here, am liking and following you on Facebook, and made a web folder to house your Internet offerings. Your voices and harmony are breath-taking, and you are all so beautiful and adorable! I hope to meet you someday in my city of Omaha, Nebraska USA. I will be buying your CD ASAP! Much love from America, Michael and my wife, Lenore

Most of the comments are about how the person can not understand the song. Why is this? Because languages are not required until high school in America! Well past prime language learning ability. Also Americans and maybe Britains are English chauvinists, thinking everyone else in the world should learn English. Look at these statistics from dutchreview.com/featured/dutch-primary-schools-to-teach-foreign-languages/ "86% of Netherlanders have English as a second language...Of my Dutch friends ALL of them speak at least 2 languages; Dutch and English. Of those the good majority either speak or at least understand any combination of the following: German, French, Flemish, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian etc. This is impressive by any means. Learning a language in school is an integral part of the Dutch Education System." And they start in primary school. Also the translation is listed above in "show more".

Hi Big Fan; I appreciate your comment and your concerns. I am 2nd generation Polish-American from the paternal side. My maternal side was Swedish and British. I would have loved it if my paternal grandparents had taught my father to speak fluent Polish, and if he would have passed that on to myself and my 4 siblings. But my grandparents were themselves small children when they emigrated to America. Their family had to learn English well to survive and thrive. It is not so much that we are English chauvinists, as much as the United States is the great melting pot. I totally agree that one best learns another language when very young. But it is not my Baby Boomer generations fault. I was born in 1950, and we were offered NO other languages in primary school. By the time I was in high school in 1965 I was offered only Spanish or German. I chose Spanish because of our proximity to Mexico and Latin America. But I am in Nebraska, in the middle of the USA and when I was a child, most of us were descended from European countries. We did not need to speak any other language to survive and thrive. As you know, the land mass of the USA and Europe are similar. When you travel, you go from country to country, but we go from state to state. That is why the founding father called us "United" States. Sadly, just like in the days of the Civil War, my country is deeply divided, but by politics and not by language. But that is a whole different discussion. All of Europe and most of the free world chooses English, because it has become the language of commerce and business. I would love to know Polish, but also Romanian, German, French, and many other languages. I wish I knew Spanish better, but I have never NEEDED to know to survive and thrive. If I ever had moved to another land, a huge priority would be to learn the mother tongue. Is this fair enough? Please do not brand all us Americans as xenophobic, because we are not all like that. My wife and I love all people and cultures. I love Europe and I love Poland especially; the land of my forefathers. I love these ladies and their music and I found them less than 18 hours ago. I listen to both their English and their Dutch singing and love them both. Finally, personally I believe that people should only have to learn English if they move to America, and not think that everyone should cater to them and have to learn their language. It is only greatly for their own benefit. Thank you and deep respect for you! Michael
