- Another day of ups and downs fishing the famous Moy Fishery, Ballina, Ireland. This is from early July, fishing was constant and most folks were meeting fish. The grilse run seems decent so far this year, a massive improvement on last year.

Never fished a tube on the surface but the idea really interests me! What style of pattern were you using? Were you fishing this as the subsurface fly seemed to be less productive, or was this simply to change things up?
@@beatts83 just a small Sunray right on the surface. I knew I was covering fish but they weren't interested so tried something different 👍

Spent this morning out on the South Tyne, Lost a Salmon . Rested the pool for a couple of hours, went back changed fly and fished it again. Nowt ! Good angling there Sean.......

@@WeeManSham all anglers are well spaced out but I would have preferred him to step out when I was waving so I could have let that fish run as opposed to fighting it on the lip of pool leaving the point fly dangling. Don't think it was intentional, he just didn't know the craic I think 👍

Is the run of fish any better?? Was hearing it wasn’t great earlier in the year.

@@SeánWoodsFishing seems to be decent numbers of Grilse in most rivers this year... I even caught one! 🤣 And on my own fly! 😁
