  • DIY Magnetic Stirrer | How to make a portable Magnetic Stirrer In this video, I show you how to create a Magnetic Stirrer using its magnetic property and use it to easily mix anything that needs to be stirred with this device.
To make this Magnetic Stirrer, I used a rechargeable battery that makes this gadget portable.
450 mAh battery, magnetic stirrer does not need to be recharged with each charge for up to a month. That means using the magnetic stirrer about 5 times a day.
    ----------------------------------
In the video, I misrepresented the 200 ohm variable resistor as the 200K ohm variable resistor.
The magnetic stirrer project uses the same variable resistance of 200 ohms that you can use 200 ohms or less.

My only issue is the part you put into the glass because of the glue I'm pretty sure is not food safe and granted it may say stainless steel for the pen pieces but over time they still will rust and put nasty chemicals in the liquid along with the washer need to find a food grade safe version of the mixer part.

    • @PenguinDIY
      @PenguinDIY  2 роки тому +15

      It is true.
It is dangerous if it comes in contact with food.
But in this project, the glue is inside the two compartments and is not in contact with the outside in any way.

Not to mention people touch it and likely won't clean it every time. And how long until some fool swallows it? Sorry, but sometimes the simple approach works best. 50 points for creativity and design (except for the charger which will over charge the battery and potentially cause a fire). -1000 points for working with microscopic SMD components and modifying perfectly safe consumer products into something that really isn't safe anymore.

@@PenguinDIY I sat down for 5hrs last night and had a think about this. I have drawn up a few concept sketches. I've come to the conclusion that best and simplest device would be something attached to a handle. At first I was thinking at the end of the handle could be 3 or 4 prongs but that might clink the glass and possibly break it. So after another 3hrs of brainstorming, I came up with an idea of having a scoop like shape at the end of a handle. Sort of like a spade or shovel. This tiny shovel can serve two purposes. It not only can scoop in powders and such, it can also be used to mix said powders into liquid. I think that this idea might actually have some merit and catch on in the future. If you are interesting in collaborating with me on this project, please let me know.

Maybe... As one final touch, is to 'Wrap' the stirrer magnet in either shrink wrap or epoxy so that it doesn't 'Rattle' as loudly whilst in action...? 🤔🤔 But a great little idea nonetheless.. 👍👏 😎🇬🇧

    How it safe?
You made capsule with epoxy, and put it in a cup with hot water...
    Did epoxy good for it?
But anyway, you do the good job.

For professional use (in a lab), why not. However, for personal use, what is the benefit? Stirring manually eliminates the risk of choking on the magnet (not very hygienic, by the way) or accidentally causing electronic components to burn if the liquid overflows... best to avoid!
