Looking into a DIY stir plate for homebrewing. This is the 1st out of 4 videos that take the fan blades, or extra unneeded drag, off of the center hub. Makes more sense to me to do that.
Amazing. I was looking into what kind of motor to use to make mine, but I didn't think of using a fan (I keep so many of them that have intact motors but broken blades, in case I need parts, and end up never using them).
you all prolly dont give a damn but does someone know a way to get back into an instagram account? I somehow forgot the login password. I love any tips you can offer me
@Fletcher Emory I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Hard not to appreciate the ingenuity here. I was considering except its $28 to buy one and that’s about what the materials cost to make this. I really didn’t want to sacrifice the parts intended for other projects so off to. Amazon where they have a couple models and both come with the stirrers. The $35 model is quite large and includes 8 stirrers plus the magnetic rod to pull the stirrers out. It’s approximately 3000ml size. Wanted mine for mixing 3d resins before i start SLA prints and mixing airbrush paints. Having the platform lip so it don’t slide off for any reason is an another benefit. Nice job btw.
Always wanted one of these, great video. Speed control sounds good, but I wonder if you could get higher rpms by leaving on two opposite fan blades and attaching the magnets to those. Magnets in the center of the fan mean high torque but low velocity. Of course you'd have balance issues if you had an eccentric load but I think it could be done.
@@TechBuilder Still there's a little problem... 3:15 "put in a small magnet..." My highly reactive chemicals will react with the magnet and dissolve it :D Maybe I could put the magnet in an capsule for medicine. Whatever, thank you anyway!
Another magnet. You can also buy specially encapsulated magnets (cheap) which are coated to be chemically resistant, and be more effective at stirring.
Hi. Great vid and so informative! Can you advise re 12v adapter. Will any one do? I'm a complete novice. I have a handful of 12v adapters with different outputs with relation to Watts and amperage
I'm trying to make a wash and cure station for my resin 3d printer and my project uses a 2 gallon bucket. Would this have enough power to stir something that big? If not, what would you recommend I use as the motor?
Turn it upside down. I know this sounds like I'm being a smart ass but a lot of DC fans only work in one direction and do nothing if you swap the polarity. You'd have to look for a DC motor, not a fan and then you could probably switch the polarity as well as at a potentiometer to adjust the speed of the motor too. He used a fan because it's super simple, easy to balance and usually people have a few lying around from old PCs.
@@homoevolutus Thanks for the reply! Doesn't sound smart ass at all. I'm essentially looking for a magnetic stirrer to spin counter-clockwise, but haven't found any on the market. I'm not well educated on electronics or magnetics, although I should probably do some research and create my own. Know it probably seems like it's a pointless venture, but I have my reasons for it. It would be really sick if I could create a magnetic stirrer that could go either way. Even better if it could be set on a timed cycle. i.e. 30 min clockwise, 30 min counter-clockwise and set a timed cycle for it to go back and forth between.
@@williamengels8216 I structure my drinking water by vortexing with a magnetic stirrer and adding trace minerals. I wanted to experiment by restructuring with a counter-clockwise vortex vs clockwise. Clockwise = masculine energy. Counter-clockwise = feminine energy. Ideally, I would like to add a timed switch to reverse polarity set to a specific variable so for example it will spin for an hour clockwise, then an hour counter-clockwise and so on.
I have a magnetic stirrer with a probe thermometer. How can I tell if the probe temperature is correct? The temp of a candy thermometer was showing a 10 degree celcius to the probe so I dont know which temperature was correct! Please help!!🙏
You do a calibration test of the probe. Put it inside known temperatures and measure the millivolts, if a two wire, or resistance of 3 wire and compare it to the appropriate chart.
Hey have you heard of Victor schalburger he's an unrecognized german scientist/inventor who dedicated his life to studying water. He was of the likes of nikola tesla but for water. Many of his theories and practices were solely based on aether/nature itself/ implosion instead of explosion which contradicts our current theories and understandings of propulsion itself. Check him out I believe he'll give you new ideas to explore for water.
This video is so realistic! Everybody tries to hide embarrassing details like getting glue on hands and stuff!
that is why God created pliers. so you do not glue your fingers.
I would add a speed control to the fan. This would help minimize possible splashing from lower volumes of liquid.

Very clever! I think I might try using multiple fans to stir liquid in a rectangular container 🤔
what if you need heating and stirring?
We need a radio transmitter v2. That video of yours got me into the hobby!
Cool! Will try to build a bigger transmitter :))
@@TechBuilder yay :)
Same here
Great build, did that myself in few hours and it works great.
A parts list would be great for this. Looking to get a switch, is it a special DC switch or just any rocker switch would work
This will be great to keep pet water alive.

@Dallas Mayson Glad I could help xD
THANK YOU for your GREAT stirrer design. 🙌👏👏👏👌

Amazing! I Love it! Keep it simple and sneak!
Excellent ! a much better version than the one visible on my channel (100% recuperation)
Made one using an old book of all things! So chuffed...its the dogs!!
a nibler is a good tool for cutting square holes in the plastic
Super easy and simple!
Thanks!
yo dude well done. How could you make it spin a little bit slower?
Thank you for this! could you share a link to where you ordered magnets from? Thanks
What tomyoenof magnet is used as a stirrer? Is it oblong (capsule shaped) and maybe coated in a solvent resistant plastic?
Nice build 👍 thanks 👍
Hey Angelo. I was wondering if you we're going to release the 5.0 tutorial for your bb8.
Can you use this to make magnetic drinking water?
Does it work for chocolate milk??
very good. but what do you at 3:17? do you drop something to the mixture?
Galing, kabayan! Gagana kaya sa hobby paints, tulad nang Vallejo at Citadel?
Nice project, magnet having North and South Pole, in which pole would be towards upper face? Pls ans ASAP.
One has it is north up and the other down
Stick the magnets to each other, then remove them without flipping them.
Can i make a series of two stirrers?
Very good.
Great project .. i search project vortex mixer without magnets inside jar

You could just glue a stick on top of it and get the same effect with more stability.
Can I use this to stir IPA alcohol for washing resin 3d prints? Not sure if it will cause flame
Thank you for a great diy idea
Does the magnet in the fluid cause any issues? Is it re-useable?
I was searching for this yesterday!
thx for the heart!

Lol. I guess you can buy a tiny glass tube, insert the magnet and seal both ends with a nonreactive material :)

keren, buat ganti sendok.. tapi jng lupa angkat lagi magnet pengaduknya 👍
very nice and simple project. but you shouldn't use a metal stirrer with sodium hidroxide.
Many thanks!
Thank you.
any input on how i could go about making it variable speed?

You just want a power supply that has at least as high of an amp rating as the fan. The fan will only draw the current it needs from the supply.
Nice
It seem low budget so i'm going to make it,not to mix chemicals but to brew cofffee.
Brilliant
Can this use a coding, base on nodemcu??

Yes! 😂 But be sure to clean and remove the magnetic stirring piece from the mug before drinking.
A simple way is after you are done mixing stick a spoon in there so the magnet will stick to it instead of running through your digestive system
What type and shape of magnet did you put into the jar? Also do you think this type of stirrer could mix paints? Specifically latex.
Paints are best mixed with a paddle and cordless drill
If the paint is in a metal container, it will not work. As the metal container is essentially a Faraday cage.
Great
Would this be good for mixing epoxy resin?
I believe it's not, as the high speed steering could incorporate more bubbles, yet Im no expert, so I would recommend more research
FIRST MAGNET HAS ITS NORTH FACING UP SECOND MAGNET SOUTH FACING UP.
I think I messed up this part... The magnet refuses to go to the center of the jar of water

Do anyone know the the that sounds track?
