Anyways, as others have pointed out, Halo as it stands is a fundamentally broken universe, with a story that literally does not make sense past Halo 3 due to the massive amounts of retconning bullshit 343 pulled. It must be made clear that humans are Forerunners; unless they stick to smaller, ODST-scale games going forwards (which they wont), this is absolutely essential for the story to function in any capacity, and is also something which will never happen. If "Halo Studios" wants to get serious, they need to axe Halo 4 onwards. I'm extremely doubtful they will ever even consider doing something like this though, no matter how beneficial it would be to the franchise. After all, we all know how massive the egos are of the people that work over at 34- I mean, at "Halo Studios".

There have not been retcons "back and forth", there's been one single retcon on the matter and it came from Frank O'Connor. Bungie was always very clear about their intentions, and their games are thematically very tight as a result. Again, it was quite literally the whole point of the story. A "definitive stance" was already taken long ago, when Spark decided to tell Chief what had already been very obvious for the past 2 games. "You ARE Forerunner."

Outsourcing is what effectively bricked the Slipspace Engine. No one asked for UE5, MS is just doing that so outsourcing doesn't cause problems since the engine is standardized and most devs they outsource to know how to code in it.

They were the only good narrative bits added by 343 gamewise that were actually not damaging or outright terrible.

Even the Prometheans were a really neat and horrifying concept for in a way they mirrored the horror of the flood. (However I agree they should’ve kept Cortana dead for 4 was a perfect ending for her, at least they gave her a good death in infinite as well to end her story officially with the farewell given to Chief. The endless also were introduced in a bad and rushed manner, rather than have them be naturally added in and have some more suspense built onto them being a horrifying race that could survive the halo rings and the danger that implies if the flood were to return and claim them.

If you look at videos from that time it was so many shills just blinded by good armor and lack of Halo 5 elements, but most of the actual players of the game called it mid at best with a boring campaign. This is the same studio that’s been running Halo Infinite for the last two years, and they still have many of the same employees. They dragged a tech demo out in front of us in typical 343 fashion with a promise of better things. I don’t trust it until they ship an actual good game. I don’t think we’re in an any better spot now than we were before they changed their name, but I think a lot of people feel vindicated that the name was axed.
343 has been changing staff members constantly for the past 2 years. Almost nobody who worked on Halo 5 or Infinite at launch are working there now. It was essentially just 343i in name only and now it’s not that anymore either

If you look at videos from that time it was so many shills just blinded by good armor and lack of Halo 5 elements, but most of the actual players of the game called it mid at best with a boring campaign. I personally couldn't even get myself to beat the story because it was such a slog

We've literally seen nothing except that they're fixing 343i's problems.
This is the same studio that’s been running Halo Infinite for the last two years, and they still have many of the same employees. They dragged a tech demo out in front of us in typical 343 fashion with a promise of better things. I don’t trust it until they ship an actual good game. I don’t think we’re in an any better spot now than we were before they changed their name, but I think a lot of people feel vindicated that the name was axed.
343 has been changing staff members constantly for the past 2 years. Almost nobody who worked on Halo 5 or Infinite at launch are working there now. It was essentially just 343i in name only and now it’s not that anymore either
