I agree with Ryuji. A student just attempted suicide and everyone is just recording the incident on their phones instead of making sure she’s ok or calling for help? The hell is wrong with them?
With social media being such a big part of today's society it was probably a jab at how people would react given situations like this. Sadly I know of a couple people that would do the exact same thing. Makes me sick to my stomach knowing that that's how some actual real human beings would react to something like that
Because most people in society now days just want their five minutes of Fame so when someone asks what happened they can manipulate the story to make themselves look better or like they were a major part
I was involved something similar that happened at my workplace, but was an attack instead. Whole bunch of people just stood their with their phones and NONE of them call 911, just me- while I was trying to keep the person neck together-and had to scream at the damn security to get a med bag.
Let's be real here, the students can't do anything but rubberneck and get in the way, which is basically what they end up doing. The teachers are actually kinda right.
Tyler Lackey even so, it’s a depiction of a sexually harassed, potentially sexually abused and bullied young girl committing suicide to try and escape it all. And they found it funny.
@@AwesomesauceAbbie I don't know the details either. All I have to go off is the trailer, showing Ann, Joker, and Shiho hanging out in Winter clothing.
@@TheEnvious1 Agreed. It wouldn't be so satisfying to see him die but if you consider the options, I'd rather have him killed than another student trying to commit suicide cause of him if that'd be the only option.
2:19 I love how you can literally hear and feel the despair in Ann’s voice, and also her panic. It’s so beautifully played out, the va needs more recognition for that.
This entire scene fucked me up. It wasn't even just Shiho's suicide attempt that scarred me, it was the lack of empathy from the teachers who kept pushing them to go back inside and acting as if another student killing themselves was a minor inconvenience.
My recation was a bit like this: "Okay, someone's probably going to stop and save her. (...) Oh. :( I guess I underestimated this game and how direct it will be."
That's just it. SMT isn't afraid to bring up dark and grim situations to get a point across or add more impact to the story. Just look at SMT 4: Apocalypse, the girl who was always there for the protagonist right from the start literally *dies and gets eaten by a demon* right in front of you simply for trying to protect you (admittedly, the impact is lessened since she is resurrected later, but still....). And in the original version of SMT 4, there's a guy who is literally *farming other humans so that he can harvest their brain matter* just to produce "Red Pills" that satisfy a demon's hunger enough that they won't attack humans on sight anymore. The world in SMT4 may have gone to hell, but that guy is not helping the situation in the least, he's only delaying the inevitable with what he's up to. And in Persona 4 you are actively hunting a murderer, and one of their victims was a High School girl that one of your party members had feelings for (something that character throws in another character's face when they accuse them of seeing the whole murder mystery as a "game") and whose family was providing her with a part-time job. SMT may be more prone to it, but Persona still uses such situations for added impact as well, despite simply being a "spin off" series from the main SMT games.
I remember getting so pissed that she just jumped. Nobody tried to talk her down or save her, nothing. She just jumped and people crowded around her afterwards
Honestly I think the moment I load up Animal Crossing New Horizons next year, I'm probably going to start balling over his memory as a lot of us really wanted him to play it.
I don't think it's insensitive. It shows many people being humane, shocked at a possible tragedy and shows a glimpse of the good in people that they would even wish well someone they barely know, in a videogame no less. While you can argue a perverse peeping tom esque nature for those wanted to see these reactions, it is to share a moment and a primal and important empathetic one at that and to share this anger, despair and shock is fine. It's part of what nakes us human, wanting to share emotions and moving moments even between strangers. And approaching the matter of Etika as you did, stay classy friend.
Exactly. And humans are, by our very nature, social animals. While there are exceptions, the vast majority of people grow increasingly uncomfortable if they feel like they are alone. It's also why we tend to band together in dire situations, working together and watching out for each other helps to ensure our mutual survival. We can even form strong connections with entirely different species, such as dogs, cats, horses, and birds, to the point that such animals genuinely become part of our own families, and whom we would willingly put our own safety at risk to protect. And humans aren't the only such empathetic creatures on the planet either, dolphins and whales have shown similar traits as well by coming to the aid of humans whom are in danger of drowning (and in the case of dolphins, just wanting to play and have fun [which I find interesting, considering dolphins are a natural predator of freaking *PIRAHNA* ]. I've even read about tests that were done that seem to strongly indicate that dolphins have a comparable level of intelligence to humans, such as by the fact that they can recognize that they are seeing themselves in a mirror at around the same pace and age as it would take for a human child to do so).
To me though..it's a shame it has to get that far. It was clear she was being abused..like incredibly clear...and it has to get to that point before people actually do something. Some people don't show signs of depression or anything before suicide...Shiho did.. :(
@@CrazeeAdam True....and she was also one of the very few students who *wasn't* initially afraid of you and who even tried to be friendly to you right from the beginning (if you talk to her in the halls before her suicide attempt happens) even in spite of the abuse she was already enduring from Kamoshida. She tried to make Shujin at least a little more pleasant for Joker even though he was a total stranger to her at that point. And Kamoshida drives her to do *this* in an attempt to stop him from hurting her anymore? Shiho, perhaps more than any other student at Shujin, did not deserve what was being done to her in the slightest.
im glad you clarified about Etika, most youtubers wouldnt have cared enough to take the time to say that so respect on you. earned my subscription for sure
And thats the part, where everyone wants Kamoshida seeing dead Me too I feel horrible for Ann: She just saw her friend jumping from a building and gives herself the blame from Shihos commit I'm glad Shiho is fine during the game
Every person has the same two moments of realization playing through this scene: 1) holy crap, this game just went to a dark place and 2) Kamoshida has to go. Immediately.
I can relate, I "technically" can't open any pokemon video topic anymore "4 the time being atless" cuz Sword and Shield already getting spoiler as we speak, and the game is two weeks away, it is even harder 4 us with P5r since Japan will get it early and everybody playing it and we have to wait until next year
Thankfully there havent been too many videos I've seen that have major story related stuff in the thumbnails. Which is surprising considering there are always dickheads out there that do that crap
Man, this really was before you got to know many of these characters. Bittersweet had Kawakami pegged as "irresponsible", but after her arc, you realize she was probably reliving trauma in this moment.
A story where we all can relate to. May not be for everyone but we can understand why we do these things. RIP Etika and hope he can live in everyone’s hearts
It's... *sighs* it's so... hard watching Etika react the way he does, knowing how he went out... it's like... I don't even know how to respond to it... it's like, I can see the fire in his eyes, where it's almost like he was battling with the depression back then, and seeing this scene fired him up, because he knew how it felt or something. Then again, he might have been just fine when playing this, but it still feels... it feels like he was facing something, and seeing all this affected him greatly.
Mmm its sad he didn't reach out for help. Instead went out like Shiho did or tried..without seeking help... :( him being so full of energy was probably to mask how he felt unfortunately
The funny thing is, it likely wasn't that he felt something or was fine. Depressed people, ironically, tend to care more for other people than themselves. So in seeing her in danger, it triggered a fight response as he didn't want to see her tormented anymore. It gives them a sense of purpose, even if it's still a hollow feeling, to defend everyone before themself. It's a martyr like nature, they'll gladly sacrifice their own life if, even to one person, it gives their life meaning. Because, ultimately, that's all they need. Reasons why. Reasons to wake up, reasons to live or a reason to die without it being just to make the pain stop.
@Ashelen Well, it's from the horse's mouth. I've been down this road plenty of times. In my head, I invent these little impossible worlds where stuff like the Phantom Thieves exist so that I have something to fight for, to protect people. In reality, I'm possessively protective of others to a fault (it's gotten me cut up inside more than a few times). I become fatherly to others in pain, like I NEED to save them, I wanna make them smile, break the bones of those who's hurt them, see them get better. But, at the same time, I'll never accept anyone's help. I'll never let anyone into my head because it'd send them insane or suicidal. So I find my own reasons to stay alive, it's how it's always been, one stopgap solution to the next. And if I run out... I'm just hoping that I'm a old man with no years left when I do. Depressed recognizes depressed, you know? It's a weird kinship we share, means we can read eachother's hearts in a way.
@@WolfyFancyLads This is true. It's actually the reason I have dogs-- because they *need* me. I don't need me, but they do. They give me the strength to get up and get out of bed, to go through all the rooms in my house and actually open my fridge and put food in my mouth bc I have to put food in theirs. I get sunlight because they need to go outside, I sleep because they want me to lay with them. On a serious, serious note, suicide and mental health run in my family. My cousin killed himself in a way similar to Shiho (he jumped off a bridge). Other notable suicides in my immediate family are... another cousin, an aunt, an uncle, a nephew, a different uncle. And the *anger* left behind from it all is another thing that keeps me getting up. Sadness of course, but overwhelmingly anger. Anger because they didn't reach out, anger because they didn't think anybody cared enough. So, BACK TO THE GAME; Ann's reaction of initial shock and horror and then blind, unadulterated *fury* is also accurate.
Man. Watching the Etika part was too real. Epsecially with how he died. RIP to Etika and everyone that has fallen to the demons known as Suicide and depression.
Honestly, suicide kinda saves me, no not in a death way, but... thinking of the most painless death amuses me, soon, it'll be an hour, and then I kinda just stop thinking of suicide. It's an interesting technique, it uses all your knowledge, but knowing you can't suicide like you want to, makes you think you shouldn't be doing that.
@@code_Rei Pretty much every means of suicide is incredibly painful. There's no such thing as a painless death unless it's from like the highest point head first the sad part is most don't realize how painful it'll be til they do it. Etika jumping from a bridge is a good example. If the impact didn't kill him he'd be broken and drowning two excruciating ways to go out the pain of water forcing into your lungs is unmatched.
I mean, the point is to lower the panic and to try to control the fearful mass. A chaotic crowd is way more dangerous than you could imagine. Still the teacher is a dick.
@@sawney-21 it makes sense he's trying to keep them calm but I don't think that's the moment to be calm, it's the moment to act. If I was a teacher (not that I want to be one) and was in this situation (hopefully no one has to be in this situation irl) and the person's best friend was in my class, although I don't know how I'd react, I hope I'd be like "hey, best friend, go to her and talk to her!". I'd rather try calm down a class after doing something to stop it happening than trying to calm them down them doing something, because by then it could be too late, similar to in the game
Kamoshida being the first boss in the game REALLY is what drove this game home for me early. The ability it gave me to care about the characters and their problems started with this situation and this palace.
I’m still shocked they decided to LEAD with him as the first villain, after he was defeated it occurred to me that every villain after him has to be EVEN WORSE than Kamoshida.
At this point, anyone thinking that this was a lighthearted, adventurous, dating sim with an rpg tacked on the side just got all out attacked in the gut.
Can we also just appreciate Ann’s voice actor in this scene. She does a really good performance seeing her friend literally try to kill herself in front of everyone.
@@Kuroshii_ID perhaps. But the implications of Kamoshida repeatedly raping his female students and beating those younger than him. And literally no one in charge caring. Is pretty up there. Because that's what is heavily implied
Oh man, I remember watching Etika's stream live, especially the one with this part in it, way back in the day and laughed throughout his play-through. It seems so surreal how everything has transpired since then and it brought back both laughter and a tear at the same time. I'll always remember waking up early in the morning at the sound of a notification of him going live to stream this game. I hope he's playing the rest of this game in heaven. R.I.P Etika. Love you dude and thanks for the laughs. #JOYCONBOYZ
Charles Demarest futaba’s backstory was dark and traumatizing, but the fact that a teacher sexually harassed students and maybe raped Shiho, is honestly more dark. Yes Futaba wanted to die but heard of the phantom thieves. What’s worse is that kamoshida showed no emotion after hearing a student killing themselfs
I'm not gonna lie, no matter what the rest of the game had in store for me, this was the scene that grabbed me by the collar and slowly dug a knife into my heart. At first, we thought it was just what we needed to do, to make things right. Then an innocent girl, who was very loved by a few tried to end her life. The game slows down to a screeching halt. You, the player realize it first, unable to process it. The adults, being dicks as usual adding to the dark tone being set. Ann rushes out to her in one of the most animated cutscenes that Persona 5 (base) has to offer. You're fully in denial. "This can't be happening." And then it happens. She jumps. And now the mission you started with turns from a petty theft of heart to a justified mission to right a wrong. That chain of events, the tone being smeared from black to white is singlehandedly one of the most powerful story hooks in the game. And it still hurts.
I can say that this very situation in the game really brings to light a situation that occurs in reality. Students in school who are bullied by other students, as well as abuse from teachers. They bottle it up, trying to avoid worrying others. I admit that I was bullied a lot in school too, and at one point, considered suicide, because I felt so trapped, I still remember I was so upset that one night, I took a full bottle of Ibuprofen to my room. I stared at it, and texted my best friend. I poured the pills into my hand, but poured them back out of hesitation. My friend texted me back next morning, and told me that killing myself wasn’t the answer. And he was right, things got better for me. So, when I see this scene, I always feel intense fear for Shiho’s life, and anger towards Kamoshida for hurting her, and Principal Kobayakawa for clearly doing nothing to prevent this from happening. Guys, if you know someone who is suffering because a bully or a teacher, speak up. Talk to a teacher you trust, the administrators, the principal, even your parents. Don’t stop talking until they listen!
When this happened, despite the fact that I was completely alone, I said; "naw it's okay boys, she ain't gonna do it, she didn't take her shoes off. *does it* oh... nevermind"
That fact just made it worse for me. I couldn't stop thinking about that when I finally got my thoughts together. If she didn't take her shoes off, did she not really want to die, but couldn't see any other option than to jump? Was she desperately praying that she'd survive all the way down? The thought makes my stomach turn.
I'm glad you didn't monetization the video, it proves that you aren't just exploiting Etika and the others for views and are doing this for the sake of persona 5 and I respect that. I wish he was still here right now to see how thankful you are... #Joyconboys4life
@@CrokedBlueCreeper101 I'm glad because yesterday I read a comment saying that someone was glad that Etika was dead saying he was loud and annoying and deserved what was coming to him I'm glad that there are people like you
Man... I remember this scene, too. Like... in the back of your head, you're already thinking "Okay, we run up to the roof and talk her down, and get dirt on Kamoshida." Because the thought of the game actually making her jump is just... foreign. The shock was real. I legit thought they killed her when this scene played out.
Still remember getting to this part in the game. I was getting a feeling of dread building up to this, so when it happened, my heart skipped a couple beats. It was at this moment that I realized how dark this game could be.
It's my first time playing through Persona 5. Up to the end of Okumura right now. Seeing this scene, it be my first Atlus and Persona game, I was shocked, angry, filled with hatred. No other scene in any video game has ever filled with as much hatred, sadness, disgust, and overall just sheer overwhelming empathy as much as this scene. It actually made me have to stop the game and actually want Ann to kill Kamoshida, which takes a lot for me to do. I was full on bawling. The truly scary thing? I can see this happen, and it has.
This scene hits me hard. I want to go in depth but I can't. Can you do them reacting to Ann pouring her heart out? The major cutscene before this one. That scene is the one that made me cry and I want to see the other's reactions. And I may not have been a fan of Etika, R.I.P. man.
Mmm. To me it's sad it has to ever get to that point with anyone...for people to realize a person is broken..sometimes there's no signs, but for Shiho there were. :( people should always be proactive in helping others imo. To prevent things from going too far. I hope you aren't experiencing the things Shiho was any more. Our world needs real Phantom Thieves sometimes. But we have to be strong sometimes.. :( wishing you the best!

I have known nothing about Etika but him being in meme compilations and nothing else since forever. When I heard that he committed suicide, I cried for 2 days. I never even knew who he truly was yet I cried for quite a long time anyway. Hearing his name now kind of makes reflect on that time that I went through when only just hearing about his death 9 months after he had passed. He truly effected me deeply.
Actually, probably. The thing about depression is you often care more about others than you do about yourself--you never want to see someone else go through the same as you. You want to help. You don't THE help, you want to BE the help. S\
I had never thought about it before the musical gamer mentioned it, but imagine how horrible it would've been if kamoshida showed up to take ger to the hospital...
15:39 Huh, I never thought about that. Where was Kawakami during this? I'm actually kind of surprised that they didn't show her at all. I mean we know she wouldn't have reacted the way the other teachers did so why not show it? Edit: Actually from a story telling stand point showing Kawakami react the same way Ann, Ryuji and the protagonist did would have taken away some of the impact of this scene. We would have had our focus split between realizing Kawakami isn't an asshole like the other teachers and confirming how much of a dirtbag Kamoshida is. So leaving her out so we could focus solely on Kamoshida was the perfect way to go about it.
Sad thing is and this is gonna get really personal but I had a friend that committed suicide while I was in high school. Wasnt the same situation as this it was a bullying case but damn this hit me really hard. If anybody reads this and is in some sort of situation where you think you cant do anything or you cant get out that's not true. Theres always a way. That's why I always try and make sure my friends are okay and that they can tell me literally anything. Cause I never want somebody to go through what i went through. That feeling of absolute helplessness. I miss that friend everyday and it was over 15 years ago
I knew it was going to happen, I knew she would try to kill herself, I got the spoiler. But, playing and seeing the scene for the first time, everything was too real. The screams, ann's voice, her voice literally got me in shock and then I realized it was for real. I didn't hear what the teacher said when I was playing but his reaction (the way he waves his hands) were so real. I'm literally shaking and in shock, I can imagine myself like if I was in that school and seeing this. People recording with their phones, the teachers. I don't even know how Ren was capable of stopping Ryuji from punching kamoshida, if it was me I would punched him first.
I think having the darkest and most vulgar of the desires/palace/implications first in the game is a good way to get people to continue playing. It doesn't ever get darker than the first palace in pretty much all aspects, instead it gets more philisophical and turns into a giant moral problem (especially in royal with the DLC semester). Sure there are various concepts touched on that could be considered worse, but they are not portrayed in a way that Kamoshida's was.
I think Kamoshida comes across as more sinister because his targets are high school children instead of just anyone. It implies a degree of helplessness that isn't really there with, say, Okumura's employees. Also there's the fact that we spend so much time around the people that he targeted and hear about it from them directly
The action taking place here is so sudden and near instant that it honestly made me gasp when I first saw it. What a horrible thing for poor Shiho to go through. :(
Another thing that makes this hurt is that her VA also voices Chiaki Nanami (aka best girl). So hearing her with such a sad and somber tone hurts. ( ;n;)
@@Cheffihn Hey if you are here to only say that, then I would like to kindly ask you to leave. It is upmost rude to the people who like Himiko and I do not appreciate people bashing on other characters even if I'm not a fan of them myself. Please go pick up a fight somewhere else.
A highlight of the game for sure. It feels so real with the girls screaming in the background (that many of the playthroughs don't catch well for some reason) and with how it comes out of nowhere. The only build up was how Kamoshida called out Shiho the day before and she was missing the day it happened, but no-one would have guessed this was the payoff.
Man, watching all the reactors made me scared for people more. When I first saw this in my game, my heart was pounding fast and I didn’t want to see the result. I even took this serious
I was very angry at this point, the pushing to attempting suicide is something practiced every day. Shiho barely survived this and a teacher piled on the pressure that compelled her to jump
I just went through this point last night, my heart sank during the scene. As someone who has experienced the loss of several friends, one to suicide, this hit me hard. But im glad to have experienced it none the less.
dude when i first saw it happening, my heart stop and it still does. also like i feel the pain in anne, like imagine watching your friend commiting suicide. i would be traumatized
This is why Kamoshidas palace is probably my favorite. Its the palace where you really see the effect he had on people from Mishima, Shiho, Ryuji, and Ann.
This was an incredible scene and one that really made Persona 5 hit home as such a tremendously emotional and powerful story. It wasn't afraid to get the player wrapped up in the emotions of the game and make it feel real. This game is simply incredible
God... This still hurts... Seeing her just being so tired and scared, she's feeling cornered and the only way she thinks everything will be over is by jumping of the roof. All because some worthless teachers, the neglectful principal and stupid parents will not kick out a piece of shit like that.
...it was ALREADY bad enough...but THIS...was the moment that he indeed crossed the line...and thus, the time of being silent and doing nothing is over...HE. MUST. BE. STOPPED!!!👿👿👿👿👿
I had gotten this game at the mall while working with some special needs adults. One of my Coworkers asked me about this game and I let them see the box. As she reads the high school part she tells me to grow up. I proceed to tell her about this scene in particular and as to why it happens and what the Phantom Thieves will do to counter act this event. She was like,"OMG". Yeah this ain't no High School Musical honey. This game tackles dark subjects!
The thing I'm the most a angry about is how the teachers reacted. Like a student tried to commit suicide, and your first response is "I'm not in charge of her clasd though..." And "We should leave this to the principal."? Just to save their own asses....
The teachers responded correctly. In that crisis situation it is important to try and minimize first hand trauma. Sure, it seems rude and heartless, however, the average person is not going to respond to "gentle" persuasion. The stages of crisis explain this well with the stage and appropriate response: Anxious-supportive, defensive-directive, acting out/meltdown-physical intervention (signs of danger to self or others), tension reduction-rapport building/explanation. Also, leaving public announcements to the media representative is expected. Anyone can speak up after, important for corruption exposure.
@@cynreiusacari3163 Thank you for clearing that up, I spoke a little too harshly at the heat of the moment. Now that I read your comment, I think you are right.
Levi's Depressed Fam no worries, the game really captures how people respond or do not respond during crisis. They really did their homework. One thing I like is how it shows the likelihood of someone able to respond in a helpful manner. I believe the majority of students standing and recording are suffering from bystander effect. It takes a strong will to quickly organize and respond in a manner that encourages safety and security of others. Ann, Ryuji, and Ren are definitely who you want on your zombie apocalypse team. 🙂
Don't forget the dingus who was all like, "Calm down! Back to your seats!" Bruh, a student tried to off herself and your first instinct is to demand your students to go back inside as if they didn't just witness a suicide attempt. Give me a fucking break...
Etika rest in peace... seeing that scene over and over again was definitely starting to get to be too much. Persona is dark at times, but its realistic. This scene was really the reason why your characters are doing their best to prevent devastion like this.

I remeber when this scene was happening I was like "no fucking way..." and then they like.. went for it and I kinda screamed inside. It takes a lot of balls to candidly show something like this (unlike 13 Reasons Why, fuck that show) and take it seriously. Persona 5 EARNED its M rating in this moment.
The moment she jumped off, that's the moment where the game makes it crystal clear to you that this game ain't like any normal action dating sim jrpg. This game is hella darker than you thought

@@AwesomesauceAbbie I don't know the details either. All I have to go off is the trailer, showing Ann, Joker, and Shiho hanging out in Winter clothing.
There are always two reactions: horror and fear over Shiho and murderous rage towards Kamoshida. Always in that order, not that I can blame anyone.
That moment of horrified realization...
That moment when it ACTUALLY HAPPENS...
That moment when everyone resolves to kill Kamoshida...
That moment when we would feel no guilt in doing so

That moment when we would feel only pleasure in ending him
@@TheEnvious1 Agreed. It wouldn't be so satisfying to see him die but if you consider the options, I'd rather have him killed than another student trying to commit suicide cause of him if that'd be the only option.
@@TheEnvious1 I would... And I would do it over and over and over again, with various finishers.
This is the scene that had me wishing the first palace had a bad ending option where they actually finish off Kamoshida's shadow.
2:19 I love how you can literally hear and feel the despair in Ann’s voice, and also her panic. It’s so beautifully played out, the va needs more recognition for that.
I also love the animation of her and MC getting out of their chairs.
Yup. Erika is 100% Ann alright.
The voice acting has always been fantastic in this series
This entire scene fucked me up. It wasn't even just Shiho's suicide attempt that scarred me, it was the lack of empathy from the teachers who kept pushing them to go back inside and acting as if another student killing themselves was a minor inconvenience.
My recation was a bit like this: "Okay, someone's probably going to stop and save her. (...) Oh. :( I guess I underestimated this game and how direct it will be."
I thought I fucked up hahaahaha
I was like "fuck did i just got a bad ending this early?" lol
It was at this moment everyone knew, Persona 5 wasn’t Fucking around
Erika Harlacher's acting in this scene is phenomenal. The anguish in her voice sounds so unbelievably genuine. It's heartbreaking.

Wait... He died!?
@@korinakorinakorina Yeah I'll probably do the same for p5r

Shiho jumping all of the sudden, like, there's no change up in music, no pauses, just she jumps. :( making it feel more real..

I mean, the point is to lower the panic and to try to control the fearful mass. A chaotic crowd is way more dangerous than you could imagine.

The teacher makes sense. The job of a teacher in alarming situations is to enact calm. If students gain panic, it will be a chaotic situation
@@sawney-21 it makes sense he's trying to keep them calm but I don't think that's the moment to be calm, it's the moment to act. @@Alibaba-id1cs I can't see how this is darker than Futaba's backstory.
@@Alibaba-id1cs wait a minute.... what did Royal do? to my understanding Royal is Post-P5 end. is it just a rewritten Persona 5 story?
I'm glad things got better for you
Your friend sounds like a true one!
It was at this point I was 100% willing to commit to a 'Bad Ending' where we straight up killed criminals.

Seeing etika's reaction to this makes me wonder,
If he saw himself doing "the same" how would he react? Would he try to stop himself?
He had a good grip on death and knew he was in for. He died a legend.
Actually, probably. The thing about depression is you often care more about others than you do about yourself--you never want to see someone else go through the same as you. You want to help. You don't THE help, you want to BE the help. S\
Seeing the comments in Etika's stream makes me believe, that the truth is stranger than fiction, or in this case, even less respectful.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Please tell me there was some kind of consequence for the bullies

I'm sorry for your loss..
Ann and mc conversation in cafe?
You know when ann tell mc that she is got invited by kamoshida to his house
At first I read it as "Shido's suicide attempt" and was confused but then read it again and facepalmed
Ehm...you forgot Shenpai...
If I recall, she already knew about it, so her reaction wasn't exactly blind like the others here.
Yeah a lot of ppl spoiled things for her during her playthrough
That’s the cost of streaming, I guess
good
@Riser gamer Yeah, I'm replying to a 6 month old comment.
Her playthrough wasn't blind until the last sixth I kamo's palace.
God... This still hurts...
Seeing her just being so tired and scared, she's feeling cornered and the only way she thinks everything will be over is by jumping of the roof.
All because some worthless teachers, the neglectful principal and stupid parents will not kick out a piece of shit like that.
2:56 Ryuji noticed what’s going on. Everyone wanted to go full Logan Paul instead of hoping she’s okay
...it was ALREADY bad enough...but THIS...was the moment that he indeed crossed the line...and thus, the time of being silent and doing nothing is over...HE. MUST. BE. STOPPED!!!👿👿👿👿👿
I was caught off guard when playing. That’s when I knew I was getting into something interesting. Thanks Persona 5!
I feel like you missed Kagato's reaction since it really does feel genuine hate for Kamoshithead
Nothing wrong with the video at all
But at least we got to see Etika one last time
Kamoshidouchebag.

I am not gonna lie:
If I saw people recording this shit on their phones I would scream at them.
4:38 o yeah shit o boy fuck holy wow ok that happened o boy an yes cat we can hear u
My first time playing: OH GOD WHAT THE FUCK
My 5th playthrough: DO A FLIP
Me playing royal after i stopped playing for a few years : OH GOD WHAT THE FUCK
Me, before this scene: "I don't want to ask killing Kamoshida by accident."
Me, after this scene: "HANG HIM."
The Etika one hits different
Hey whats that!
(slight raise of eyebrows)
She's gonna jump!
(Fully raised eyebrows)
Suzui-san?
(Wide eyes)
*She jumps *
(Mouth wide open)
I remeber when this scene was happening I was like "no fucking way..." and then they like.. went for it and I kinda screamed inside. It takes a lot of balls to candidly show something like this (unlike 13 Reasons Why, fuck that show) and take it seriously. Persona 5 EARNED its M rating in this moment.
The moment she jumped off, that's the moment where the game makes it crystal clear to you that this game ain't like any normal action dating sim jrpg. This game is hella darker than you thought
Its like oh so we have this guy trying to start over... ok. And he has one friend, a spirit that fights at his control-waititsthatajojoreference-a talking cat and an abusive professor ok we'll slowly solve this abuse situation AND THEN THIS HAPPENS
From this part, the game got freaking real imo
Was at this point when I got addicted to persona 5.
