Does this not just show which DAC plays best with your specific down stream equipment? Unless all your downstream equipment(speakers/amps) are perfectly reference then how do you know one DAC is playing more true to reference than the other? One DAC could just be filling dips in your downstream frequencies better because of it's output characteristics. I think to fully test this you would have to test across a multitude of equipment setups and I guarantee that you would come to a different conclusion on each setup. Great DAC's will be great no matter what, but the hairs will split in different direction for each system.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! I loved every episode. I believe I have deduced your identity and I live relatively nearby. If I'm correct, I attend a festival in your hometown every couple of years. I'm not a stalker, just a fan. I would love to hear your setup and share some DAC knowledge. I'm working for a local custom tube amp manufacturer, McGary Audio, and I could get you a high end tube amp audition. I have a bunch of under $300 DACs, but i'm ready for a Bifrost Multibit. In my opinion, all the Schiit DACs are unbelievable for the price. I am curious about the Cambridge DacMagic Plus ($300) and the Hifime UDA38Pro ($250). One more thank you and maybe we can do some testing and make a video together. I do pro photography and video work.
I appreciate the info - truly ! But I wanted to reach through the screen and take that pen and paper from you lol. That constant scribbling and paper shuffling.....mercy. Id recommend pulling that stuff up on your computer and use a recording software to do the same thing.
Aren't you being a little unfair to Schitt? The Gungnir is the $1000 or the Yggy($2000) is the one you want. They said they'll never make a better one and you can upgrade them to latest boards at any time.
You are welcome. I'm going to make a much more detailed vid about R2R's in the near future. This vid struck a balance of being technical enough but not over the top. Cheers ....
Great video man! keep it up!
This is an amazing DSP fundamental tutorial! You helped me a lot in deciding to get the multi-bit Bifrost vs other delta-sigma DACs. Thank you!
another great video, you are the man for this stuff, and you take your time explaining things, thank you.
great explanation, best no bullshit video, thanks!

Thank you for the math behind it!

i think i saw you had a comment on a cargo ship video or something. small world.
LOL, I hope it was a respectable comment. When I get to drinkin' ....
