Hey thanks for your effort on this. Looks dynamite! I'll be wishing we get an early spring so I can take the full lenth of it. There is an other video of it that is from the "ribbon cutting day" on here. That terrific view off into the n fork canyon is what I'm talking about where back in the day we used to ride down to the river in different places on those 7 or 8 trails taking off the ridge line dropping to the bottom. A few of those I only did once. Like one time... down to the river on mumford bar trail, ride upstream on the john muir trail and come back out at sailor bar. It was not easy! The big sugar trail looks like a piece of cake.
I was thinking about you on this ride and your great stories. That must have been a chore back on those bikes and wish I could witness your rides. You sir are inspiring! Thanks for another great story!
@@LBRides There was a time when I was tough. That ride east I spoke of along the river was on a triumph 500 single! But it's you guys who, to me, seem to go everywhere these days. I can only think of a couple spots that I have not seen you go on that I once rode. We were pioneering back then. Thank you for doing this ride.🏍
Sorry for over doing it, but to add to that story... The john muir trail is 13 miles long along the river from mumford bar to sailor bar. We HAD to go out at sailor bar because there was no turning back. I remember asking a fisherman and his son when we got there, "is this sailor bar?" he said "yes, but how did you get here?" This trail was found on the tahoe national forest sevice map, but now only foot traffic and horesback
@@2manyrides Don't be I really enjoy reading / hearing about your stories and I know my buddies do too. I could listen all day. I never heard of sailor bar I'll have to look it up on a map and imagine you guys on two wheels figuring it out. No technology just man and machine back then. Amazing!
Awesome video! Wish I could have tagged along with you guys, but I had other plans😉 the conditions, weather, and tacos looked primo. My next day ride there was one I'll never forget
Really cool video! Thank you for sharing. Couple questions... You mentioned upgrading to the 500, how do you like it? I'm on a 09 Ktm 525 and want to upgrade. And what sort of camera/attachment do you use for video? Great quality and epic scenery. 🏔️🏍️
@@mattwallace8720 Thank you. I’ve had my 2015 Ktm 500 exc for a while but don’t normally use it for dirt biking if I’m loading up my truck (I ride it from home and hit the local trails) I like the 500 a lot it’s been a solid bike. I run DJI Action 4 camera mounted to chin mount.
Love to see a new trail in CA! I just checked out this area on onX, gotta make a trip out there soon maybe in the spring. Not sure how I never noticed this before but I just saw that you were the one who submitted the trial for Georgetown Trail 1! Appreciate all the content
@@Ramentheawsome Foresthill is an awesome area to ride. I agree on seeing new trails in CA is a rare thing these days. If you need Foresthill info for your spring ride let me know.
@LBRides I am new to the area and not really sure about when to expect snow, I assume this video was recorded recently? When do you have to start riding lower elevations? So far I have only hit prairie city and a few trails near Carson pass at Burnside lake. I know of Georgetown, Forest Hill, and mammoth bar but I haven't been out to see any of them yet.
@@Ramentheawsome This was filmed yesterday 12/7. Once our snow hits all of the fun stuff is closed until April / May so like you I’ll hit Prairie City, Georgetown if it’s open or head to Nevada and ride desert.
@@LBRides It's just making me more excited for spring, I have to get out as many rides as I can before we get too much snow. I think there's some expected for this weekend so we'll see. I appreciate the info, ride safe
Looks like an awesome ride! Dirt looked perfect and killer weather.
Gotta get you out there....
