Cars, Costs and Technology I will never drive a corvette because my friend died in a 2016 stingray because of poor traction control rip #tj he died 18 years old rented a corvette for prom and died that same night 💔
Cars, Costs and Technology It would be hard to do but I likely wouldn't drive it a lot in the winter. I'd probably take it out to get it up to temp but only short drives near my house. It would rarely see salt, if ever. If it were summer I'd daily drive the hell out of one. I swear I would teabag a set mousetrap if it meant I could own one, especially the ZR1. The Grand Sport is more my style though. This is coming from a Ford(mostly) guy.
I kept my vette parked in the garage but almost died of pneumonia. I realized tomorrow is not promised you. I sold my second car and enjoy my corvette everyday. I still feel the thrill everytime I start up that LS3. I live in sunny Southern California.
C6 daily here - I love driving mine to work and back every day too. I explained it to someone like this: Driving home used to be the end of my work day. Now it's what I do when I get off work.
I have a 2016 black stingray convertible, LOVE IT, and its my everyday car. I'm a great grandmother, and my thinking is, what the heck am I saving it for!! I have 2 Vetts, one in Fla and one in NJ. Never sees snow, and not much rain, both garaged. But to your points: Rides like a dream, no rough at all. Shoppinh, get creative, on a Costco run, just strap those 24 rolls of toilet paper in the passenger seat, and buckle up baby! Not crazy about not having a gas cap, but "deal with it"!! Geezz!! No CD player, but Best Buy has a small portable one that plugs into AUX, sits in cup holder if you remove spacer. All in, under $30. A bit nervous about NOT having a spare tires, so get roadside assistance coverage and have it towed, not a big deal. We all have cell phones, and Sirius call for help button. Get a grip folks, ifz not the end of the world. In my humble opinion, its the best "fill in the blank" car I've ever driven. I love it, other Vett ownerz always gjve you tbe secret handshake, so much fun. How nostalgic, I remember watching this video back then and wondering how it would feel to drive one, well update update I now own a 2015 c7 z51🤙🏼 dreams come true
I drive my C6 every day. I have had brand new C4's and C5's and a new C6. I let them sit in the garage and go wow. I have a new corvette. To heck with that. We are not promised tomorrow, and I learned that the hard way when I became ill and couldn't afford such cars anymore. I could of enjoyed those cars, but I was scared something would happen to them. I never put over 3, 000 Miles on any of them. Now, this 09 C6 gets the heck driven out of it. I thank the good Lord I am able to own another one. Use your vehicles people. These Vettes were made to enjoy. (And tick Mustang driver's off. Let em go. The cops will get em, trust me. See it daily)
@@justincarrillo12626 Actually if you spend time in Europe you find the Corvette these days are considered special, along with Harley's and American Bourbon.

Justin Carrillo No american cars are seen in europe as exotics, i drive a corvette c3 and i get a lot of thumbs up and people on the sidewalk are making photos lol
I don't fear snow...It's the salt. I got winter tires on my Z06 to help it drive in the cold, and grip in the snow, but the next day when they throw salt down, she's staying at home. Especially with all the undertray's we have with the tiny gaps, salt can sneak up, and then get stuck and rust it from inside out, even underbody washes can't save you from that. I'm considering unbolting them for winter, so I can spray the underbody easier.
I had a '65 convertible as my daily driver when I was in the military from 1972 through 1976. Driving from Illinois to Pennsylvania and back every weekend, I learned a lot about that car. While I felt every crack in the road, the 565 mile one way trip left me feeling just fine at the end of it. When I eventually had a Ford Galaxy, it was more "comfortable" to sit in and go 5 miles, but after the aforementioned 565 mile trip I was physically exhausted. Then, the parts availability is another good point. I once had a fuel pump fail in Indiana and all I had to do was go to a normal parts store and get one. Had I been driving a contemporary Jaguar, Mercedes, Lotus or Porsche, I might still be waiting for the part. Damn, I wish I had that car back now.
My friend had a 2015 Stingray Z51 purchased in April of 2015 and put almost 30k miles on it before he passed away in January 2017. He pretty much daily drove it (in Colorado), and took a few road trips and averaged right around 29 MPG, with no breakdowns or failures.
Sorry to hear that you lost your friend. It sounds like he really enjoyed his Corvette and I'm sure he never regretted driving it so often 👍 Thank you for sharing this.
I have a 2011 C6 Grand Sport that I drive daily unless it's leg day at the gym. Made that mistake once and learned real quick that it's a bad idea with a clutch.
My dad is fortunate enough to get a company vehicle... Because of this, we are thankfully able to keep our recently purchased C6 convertible warm and dry during Michigan winters.
Totally agree about foreign cars and their “prestige”. Personally, I prefer good old American muscle. Parts aren’t as proprietary or expensive as say on a Mercedes for example. Interior is also usually more spacious on American vehicles versus foreign cars. To be quite honest, I think when I see a Corvette, Hellcat, Shelby GT350, or ZL1 I feel more excited than when I see an AMG Benz, M series Bimmer, or Audi S Series.
I have extensive experience teaching performance driving in both Ferrari's and Lambo's and certainly I wouldn't mind having either but even though I could, I wouldn't buy one, I much prefer my Corvette. Now I am biassed as I have won SCCA autocross championships with the car, which was built out by Dick Gulstrand. I will say that there is not beating the sound of a Ferrari at full song. I have a manual transmission, the Corvette paddle shifters are horrid.
Totally agree, there has never been a Mercedes ,BMW or Audi that has ever turned my head and i went WOW LOOK! However, when i saw my first 2019 ZR-1 on the road i was yelling the whole time lol.
I drove my C6 (2013) in Southern California and drove it as a daily driver for 5 years. It was never a problem for me. Since we only get the occasional rain storm, it was never a problem.
I have driven all my corvettes as daily driver since 2001. The only time I don't drive them is when salt is put down on the road. These are built to be driven not sit in a garage and be look at. I gave my son a 99 with about 140k on it and it now has 175k and still going strong. Right now I have 3 vettes (including my son's) and I drive them as much as I can rain or shine, after all they are cars.
onelegorg I have had a corvette as a daily driver since 1979. I feel so lucky! My daily driver now is a 2015 base 1 LT 7 spd... Fiberglass runs in my veins....
I daily a c7 stingray. Drive about 25k a year in a year in it. It’s so easy to daily. Comfy, decent gas mileage, and maintenance is pretty acceptable. Tires are pricey but other than that it’s an easy car to daily.
I'm in SC too (though you must be upstate if you got snow!) and I daily drive a C7 Z06, so I'm right there with you. I get the lack of space remark all the time. So much in fact, that after making a particularly heavy Costco run, I took a pic and I show it to people and that shuts them up. Thanks for making this video!
Great video. 👍 I needed the back seat with a kiddo to haul around, so I bought the SS sedan... LS3 and a Tremec 6-speed manual in a decent chassis with some Corvette tricks like the magnetorheological dampers. Mine gets daily driven except in active snow. I have a Silverado farm truck for those duties. But yeah, if you’re worried about keeping the car in nice shape, go for the full paint protection film treatment. My whole car is wrapped in Xpel, and 3M and a couple others also make great products for that. It’s pricey to do the whole car, but when you’ve got $50k tied up in a car, it brings great peace of mind. It’s a relief every time I hear gravel ping off the bodywork to know the paint is protected and all I have to do is give the car a bath and it’s immaculately shiny again. Winter driving: lots of RWD European cars get DD’d in winter and do just fine. BMWs and Mercs were almost exclusively RWD for decades, and people all over Northern Europe drove those in winter conditions just fine. Driver training and proper tires are really all that’s needed. People are so poorly trained nowadays and very few pursue additional training beyond the pathetically minimal state licensing requirements. Hence people now seem to think they need AWD and an automatic to get through winter. BS. I drove a stick-shift, 2WD Golf GTI VR6 on all-season tires through Iowa winters. Never had a problem. Saw more people in 4x4 SUVs sideways in the ditch or median than any other kind of car. The SS gets driven in winter just fine by many owners on the forum... proper rubber and sensible driving tactics are all it takes. RWD is not some dealbreaker in winter, despite what many seem to think. If you really don’t have the skill, go find a local performance driving school and/or seek out a car control and inclement weather driving course. Best $200 you will ever spend. Before balking at the price, realize that’s less than the cost of TWO winter tires, not even a full set. And the driving course will help you in EVERY car you climb into. But yeah, great practical approach to DDing a sports car. It IS doable! Glad to see you out enjoying a fun car. Sounds like budget was a consideration here, so this is even more applicable to the guys thinking they can’t afford multiple cars. Keep up the good work.
I have a C5 and a C7. The 5 is a modified manual trans 50th anniversary convertible. 450 hp at the rear tires is a blast to drive. Shutting down new Mustangs, Camaros and Mopars with a 21 yo vette never gets old. It is my daily ride. The c7 is a 2014 z51 Lime Rock Green automatic convertible. Unlike my C5, it is very civilized. I love both vettes for different reasons and uses. As a young man I had a C3 1969 convertible. I still appreciate the simplicity of the C3's. However the C5, 6 and 7 are my favorites. The progression of heritage in the body lines is so evident and gracefully beautiful in my opinion.
I got a c63s that car started misfiring on the way home when i picked up from the dealer lol. Its been 9 months now and the car was at the dealer fixing issues for 3 months all together
I've daily driven 2 C5 Corvettes and loved every minute of it. Never had any problems whatsoever. Regularly got over 22 mpg on average and the cars were very strong when it came to power delivery. The people who downvoted this video obviously know nothing about Corvettes or had a rare freak experience where something went catastrophically wrong. Every car, I don't care what kind, is going to have a few that experience more problems than the rest. But overall Corvettes are extremely reliable cars, easy to work on, comfortable, and practical. I love Corvettes, there's nothing else I'd rather have. I've owned foreign sports cars, they just don't have the same appeal to me, they aren't quite as fun to drive, and the maintenance and reliability is poor compared to a Corvette. Great video.
I’m daily driving a 1987, great car, great visibility. Ever get some idiot try to stop you from being able to change lanes or get on the highway? Doesn’t matter to something that accelerates or decelerates as fast as any Corvette. It’s also pretty good on gas when you drive it slowly (or even if you just keep up with traffic, which is not fast for the vette, but everyone else is flooring it) Problems with my car would be ride height, noise level (not really the exhaust, but the wind is really loud on this car) and the occasional 30+ year old car issue, old wires, old vacuum lines and such.
I daily a c7 Z06 in MS. Throttle progression is definitely set in your favor in bad weather. I’d say first half of throttle is really only 25%. The last half is where the insanity lives. I do drive it in rain a lot. Very manageable. Good video!
We have a 2001 Z06, since new, has 150+k on the clock, and had been driven in all conditions. Remember the body is plastic (dose not rust), if driven regularly the the under side stays cleaner then you would think, even after three season at Bonneville on the salt there is no ill effect (yes driving 500 miles home through Thunder storms will clean out most of the salt) About the only thing that showsdamage is trailing inside of the fender openings (we have an unusually large amount of road sand/gravel), still after 17 years and 150k its expected.
I've been a 'Vette daily driver since 1989. I've owned a total of 15. My '89 was a T-Top. '91, '93 & '95's were all Hardtop convertibles. My Stingrays, Grand Sports were rag tops too. I currently own a '16 ZO6 w/ a black convertible top in Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic. Only 62 were produced in this color. It is a mint condition conversation piece w/ 40,800 miles. Lastly, I also own a '19 ZR1 w/ a black ragtop in Sebring Orange tint coat. It garners a lot of positive attention and feedback. I took delivery in May, 2018. This one I drive sparingly and keep it covered in my garage on trickle charge. It has only 2,800 miles. Definitely a 'Vette fan.
I drove my corvettes 7 to 8 months a year in Michigan and tried not to drive in rainy weather. I liked to keep it nice, while still driving it. Not sure why people buy corvettes and barely use them.
great video man! I haven't had my z06 long enough, nor do I daily drive it, but I think I could definitely daily it :D some great info for anyone with looking to explore the option. Keep up the great work
Great videos. I just bought a 2017 yellow Stingray. 1LT. Only options were the exhaust, black wheels and yellow calipers. I could not be any happier. Awesome car. Soft suspension and awesome balance. It is my daily driver here in central Florida. Am at 2,000 mi already. I added the Z51 rear sway bar with no loss of ride quality and a bit better handling. Anyone on the fence....Do it. Note: I put a tune in the car and had to stop driving with the exhaust in track mode... Too loud on the commute. (30 mile each way). Dodge boy with a bowtie living the dream.
I have a 2006 convertible that I bought Christmas 2 years ago. I have driven it daily here in Ohio. It is beautiful even in the snow as long as it is not more than 2 - 2 1/2 inches deep. Other than that it is perfect - it is so low and wide that it doesn't get blown around buy trucks. I grew up in the 60's so rear wheel drive is not an issue.Last week it was less than 40 degrees at night. I drove to work in the cold but later in the day it warmed up to 60 degrees. Down went the top on the way home. What a great car!
Living in Orange County Southern California where Ferrari, Porsche, Lambos are fairly common, seldom any of that class of cars. Get a fair number of Subbies, Mustangs, Chargers and occasionally Tesla's.
I too had a 05 C6 and now have a '16 C7, but it's a Z06. Pretty much daily driver. I love it. I do have other vehicles to drive if weather is really bad.
Dude, thank you so much for your content. This along with your other videos about the pricing, trims, performance packages, have been SO helpful to me as I’m doing my research to see if I can make the c7 happen! Keep up the great work.
I got a nice clean used 2016 C7 a week ago now. Drove it to work everyday and was great. I did a C5 as well for over 8 years. Glad to be back in a vette. Holycow do it, you will not regret it one bit. Only thing i am worried about is low water areas. Getting home from work is quite a few spots for me. But i imagine it would be ok in less then a few inches. I might get a truck sooner or later.
I daily drove a 1985 Corvette in high school, it was my first car and probably my favorite part of high school. It was a hell of a lot of fun and I got in a bunch of trouble but it was well worth it. Don’t get your panties in a twist, I paid $3500 for it back in 2011. It currently sits gutted in my garage as I spun a main bearing. I truly loved and do miss the Corvette experience, I’m looking to get another in a couple years. It runs in the family too; I have a Corvette, my dad has one, and his dad had one. Daily drove it too
Love the video! Just bought a Torch Red C5 (2001), automatic trans. It’s my daily driver, as it’s gonna be my only car. So far, so good. I’m getting around 24 mpg, which is surprising to me. As far as the ride, I thought it would rattle my teeth out like my 3rd gen Trans Am’s I had with the WS6 suspension! Again, I was pleasantly surprised by how good thing car rides! Pretty amazed at how much I can put in the back when I go shopping at Walmart too. Very very happy with my C5, only paid $13,000 for it, and it has 72,000 miles on it.
You should do a comparison with a new 911 because Porsche is one of the most reliable brands out there. Granted, the parts will be more expensive, but the cars are very well made.
@@stantorren4400 Never understood that...Just because it takes me to 50 to afford one due to raising kids and college, doesn't mean I'm having a mid-life anything.
Great Video. Just wanted to add that I own a '17 C7 Grand Sport. It is my only car and I drive it daily. It's currently at about 50,000 miles and has been very reliable. I live in Florida, so I am driving in rain quite often. I love this car and look forward to driving it everyday. Again, great video and I agree with everything you mentioned here. Thanks for sharing!
You’re spot on 👍. I drive mine daily and truly enjoy it. MPG are great considering I drove a Jeep SRT prior. Comfort level is smooth sailing. Thank you for reconfirming that it’s fine to use Vetti as my commuter car. Your knowledge is appreciated.
I've daily driven my 2008 c6 z51 m6 for a decade. Great vehicle with 119k miles. Every winter I throw on snow tires and every spring I put on summer rubber. Most reliable vehicle I've owned in 40 years. Great daily driver and I smile every day.
I drive my 17 z06 everyday This my third one and , more I drive more I enjoy I had 98 pacecar for 16 years with 238k miles no problem I absolutely agree for fuel efficiency with 31mpg on freeway I love it!
Good video, I have a 2019 stingray but I do have a second car and usually only drive my Vette twice a week. I believe it is a good vehicle for everyday driving. I live in Arizona so I don't have the snow to worry about and I never drive my Vette in the rain. If the red Vette in your video is yours then did that blade spoiler come stock on your car? I just ordered the high wing spoiler for mine as mine had no type of spoiler on it.
I plan a corvette to be my daily driver for my next car, so I thank all the guys who buy it and sell it 4 years used with less than 20k miles on it making it half the price for me more or less 👍
My C5 has been my daily driver since 2005. 135K miles and still exciting. I bowl, play golf and pick people up at the airport, it all fits. The one thing I do recommend is the electronically controlled or magnetic ride control. It's nice to soften it for a commute or stiffen it for play. An all around fun car to own and drive.
If you are worried about salt just put some corrosion protection on your car especially on such an expensive one as the Corvette. I live in Germany where in the area i live in we can have snow that lasts a few days or just slush where they use a lot of salt and i had my Mustang treated with Mike Sanders because i daily drive it.
Enforcer1975 - I had my GMC truck fully under coated in 2012, the frame and box is showing heavy rust as of last year. That salt gets everywhere and starts rotting GM metal immediately.
Wow then the metal must be really bad. My car has a fingernail size spot of corrosion on the edge of the hood but that's it. The importer where i had my car maintained just last month said it was in very good condition despite being 8yo now and me getting the protection done when i got it when it was 3yo. Was lucky the previous owners used it in summer only. I was also lucky the last winters, i can count on one hand how often salt was used in those 5 years and i gave the car a full wash and wax after that every time.
Enforcer1975 - well my mom says if you don’t have anything good to say, then don’t say nothing. GM’s metal quality is ...... I also have a 2009 Toyota Rav 4, it never gets washed, no undercoating, same conditions, Zero, and I mean ZERO rust. Hmmmm
Rusty Zipper Toyota has always been notorious for having the worst metal. Especially on their older vehicles. I can remember for the longest time seeing Toyota trucks with missing beds due to rot.
@@RustyZipper did you use regular undercoating or something like Liquid Film? If the coating trapped moisture underneath it, the treatment may have been worse than leaving it alone.
I'm in Arizona and the worst we get where i'm located is an occasional rainy down pour. I have had it up north in the snow and had no problem driving it as it handled very well.
I put my C5 in the garage too & just drive my truck. But i've actually had to replace my exhaust system 3 times on my 2002 F-150 in the last 16 yrs becuz of road salt. Nasty stuff.
With 4400 miles on my 6 month old '18 Stingray 7 spd. stick I drove a roundtrip 1400 miles. The overall trip showed about 31mpg...with one recorded segment...some downhill in 7th...over 40 mpg! That is still on the display...and if I did not have the ability to access that feature, even I would not believe it! I was driving I-5 out of N. CA to Oregon, and then Hwy 97 in OR. Hit 90mph a little, but mostly cruising at 65 to 75...amazing! I have owned Porsche 911's, and a couple of other sports cars...the Corvette works for me...better than all the rest.
Have you compared the onboard MPG readout with calculations from trip mileage and gallons filled? The manufacturers for all cars are pretty careful to make sure to never underrepresent the MPG in the display.
I was surprised that you didn't mention the magnetic suspension option. I would recommend getting it if the car was going to be used where the roads are rough and certainly as a daily driver car. I would also suggest the Grand Sport with medium profile tires for ride comfort and wet roads. The GS keeps the rear end from breaking loose.
Drove my 2018 all winter. In Canada. There was about 5 days where I couldn't drive it because I couldn't get traction. But then, I don't have winter tires. The snow doesn't get too deep where I live, but it's wet snow, and real slippery. As for ride, mine's also a 1LT, and was pleasantly surprised at comfort and ride on my first highway trip. Eight hour drive, stopped halfway through to let my dog relieve himself and top up the tank, and was quite comfortable. I never got the numb ass I got in other vehicles on the same trip.
I own a c6. You can take it to the grocery store, road trips, I've seen near 29 mpg. My daily driver is a 2022 Mazda cx30 turbo, which gets < 25mpg. The corvette is very comfortable, & rides surprising decent. Plus the AC is ice cold. Love it.
That's really sad. Thankfully I am at the income and asset level that I don't have to keep any car more than 3 or 4 years. Waiting to see if the 2020 M3 is going to be all wheel drive. Also want to look at the 2020 GT500
ANDREW GRAY I don’t think anything is wrong with it. I get 19-20 on a freeway. So I suppose its within normal range when running 8 cyl all the time. I just have lead foot when city driving 😬
Holy.. Why so low? Are you flooring it at every green light and youre on the line? I mean, I do that too. Full track mode and just vroom it amd Ill sit at 9 to 11 but not when Im regular driving.
87 c4, daily driver in Indiana. Does just fine all year, use snow tires in the winter and all season the rest of the time. It goes where I point it and I’ve never had a problem.
Good chart on cargo capacity. I've definitely noticed my c5 has a shitload of capacity. I've had people stop and gawk at Costco before while I loaded up crazy amounts of stuff.
I own a C-6 and drive it almost every day in spring, summer and fall. We store it in the winter because I do not want to get the steel parts exposed to road salt. During the last two summers we have driven about 15,000 miles each. This is a great touring car, great fun on the twisties and a good grocery getter. The only expenses were oil, tires, insurance and storage.
I drove my 66 vette back in the 70's year around in Chicago weather for over two years. It was just a matter of learning what it could do under various conditions. Not what I really wanted to do but since I was just out of the service, that's all I had.
I have the 2019 Corvette ZR1 Coupe that I have bought for as a weekend car (Note: me and my wife’s car are both paid off). So the money that would be going to financing our daily drivers are going into the new car. And I would have to say it’s pretty fun to take out on the weekend and go to the track.
I Daily drive a 2006 C6. +it feels good to drive all the time +comfortable +decent gas mileage +roof pops off in nice weather -center console gets very hot -people have no patients for you on the road (get mad when you aren't driving like a grandmother) All in all, decent car but only other vette drivers will like your car.
Would you drive your ZR1 in the snow like Harlan Charles? He probably has a few more ready to go if anything goes wrong lol. Thanks for watching 👍
Cars, Costs and Technology if I had the money, and dignity yes. And also, JAGUAR BRAKE DOWN ALL OF THE TIME!!

how can you afford a corvette?
If you ask me the drivers position of the Camaro makes it a much better daily driver.
A corvette has been my daily driver since I was 22. I’m now 64 and still driving one, a supercharged C6 now with 140K on it. My C5 had over 250K.
Nice 👍🏼👍🏼
Larry McHaney wow 🤩 what a life
My C5 has passed 100k, 2002
How many sqft is your second kitchen?
Wow. That is awesome. I just recently got my first one and I'm 59. They are fun to drive,I had to have a manual. Cheers!
My mom is 78 and drives an 02 c5 corvette daily. It's been her daily drive since she bought it new.
That's awesome 👍
Yeah these old cars seem to just never die
Nice I love a c5
That sounds... Dangerous.
Thats a buyers wildest dream is to buy a c5 from a old lady
I kept my vette parked in the garage but almost died of pneumonia. I realized tomorrow is not promised you. I sold my second car and enjoy my corvette everyday. I still feel the thrill everytime I start up that LS3. I live in sunny Southern California.
n2myblk57 I agree... life is too short to save a car for only sunny days. Jmo..the value of having one of these is to smile everyday...

Southern California is made for Corvettes. Or self-driving cars. Or working from home. It depends...
Sorry to hear you're stuck in CA. Used to be a great place!

Peddle to the metal!
Thanks Nonna! Love you!
@UNDERSCORELXRD And that's appropriate for someone who was sharing an honest experience. Wanker.
Secret handshake??
How nostalgic, I remember watching this video back then and wondering how it would feel to drive one, well update update I now own a 2015 c7 z51🤙🏼 dreams come true
Congratulations!
Awesome comment. I hope to do the same. Watching vids now and planning on purchasing a C7 soon to replace my minivan.
My dream spec I’ll see you soon
The Corvette is really exotic in german though :) thats what i like about it... f- types and porsches dont really interest me that much over here
@@justincarrillo12626 Actually if you spend time in Europe you find the Corvette these days are considered special, along with Harley's and American Bourbon.

No american cars are seen in europe as exotics, i drive a corvette c3 and i get a lot of thumbs up and people on the sidewalk are making photos lol
Hi from the U.S. I was stationed in Wiesbaden back in the early 80's. It was one of the best times of my life.
Ya true
I guess I'm lucky to live in Florida then lol
Annual Fluidfilm or krowm, problem solved
My 93 with Greenwood package is the ultimate traveling machine.. 300 miles very comfortably
There’s something to be said about being the lowest trim level - less things to break and still a super fun car!!!
My friend had a 2015 Stingray Z51 purchased in April of 2015 and put almost 30k miles on it before he passed away in January 2017. He pretty much daily drove it (in Colorado), and took a few road trips and averaged right around 29 MPG, with no breakdowns or failures.
Mark Zielke - that’s awesome he got to at least enjoy his car vs garage queen.
He said on day one "I didn't buy this car just to look at it"
Sorry to hear that you lost your friend. It sounds like he really enjoyed his Corvette and I'm sure he never regretted driving it so often 👍 Thank you for sharing this.
29 Mpg?? That is insane. Time to trade up!
Rip
I have a 2011 C6 Grand Sport that I drive daily unless it's leg day at the gym. Made that mistake once and learned real quick that it's a bad idea with a clutch.
Haha i understand you dude i remember one leg day in the gym and i couldn't go upstairs
Leg day. Aka arm day lol
I have a C7Z Manual i daily (Houston) and leg day and ab day are the absolute worse lmfao. I take the rendezvous on those days
Hah. That's too funny. I get it. I know that feeling. Thanks for the humor
To be quite honest, I think when I see a Corvette, Hellcat, Shelby GT350, or ZL1 I feel more excited than when I see an AMG Benz, M series Bimmer, or Audi S Series.
dannySRT6.4 There is just so much more appeal when you look at a Corvette vs a Foreign made "sports car"
dannySRT6.4 stop bullshiting with yourself!💯💩
agreed. american cars have a character.
Got mine to drive... unfortunately I don't have a garage... but the birds love it as much as I do ... lol
Josh Todd : Sub-cutaneous?
Absolutely Agree...Although its not my daily driver,I am amazed at what a incredible car this is .I to,bought a 2019 LT1 VERY IMPRESSED
I daily drive a '85 7 speed. (in nice weather)
Corvettes arent mythical beasts, they are cars.
Love 'em and drive 'em
I have said the same thing many times about the Pagani, Bugatti, Koenigsegg,...
I daily drive a C3 Corvette but I put a modern crate motor in it with fuel injection and a manual 5 speed.
I daily my corvette, I put 5k miles in a month😂😂, it’s been fun
😂 my C6 has 230k miles on it 😂 still runs like a champ

Yesssss daily driving, i love this subject
Me looking at my 2017 Chevy Cruze
Yeah I drive a Corvette 😎
I agree with everything you said. I drive my C7 2LT everyday everywhere. The climate is such that I ca. ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
I got a c63s that car started misfiring on the way home when i picked up from the dealer lol. Its been 9 months now and the car was at the dealer fixing issues for 3 months all together
I drove a c5 for 7 years, no issues
Really appreciate this review. I'm falling more into the 'want one' camp.
Same
I’m daily driving a 1987, great car, great visibility. Ever get some idiot try to stop you from being able to change lanes or get on the highway? Doesn’t matter to something that accelerates or decelerates as fast as any Corvette. It’s also pretty good on gas when you drive it slowly (or even if you just keep up with traffic, which is not fast for the vette, but everyone else is flooring it)
Problems with my car would be ride height, noise level (not really the exhaust, but the wind is really loud on this car) and the occasional 30+ year old car issue, old wires, old vacuum lines and such.
I had a C4 and C5 both were daily driver the C4 was ok but the C5 was good I put about 30,000 on each in a year.
Wtf how did u manage 60k in one year
@EmperorDragon6 lol sorry not in the same year
I daily a c7 Z06 in MS.
Cool! Anything you would like to say about your c5 vette? I’m planning on getting a c5 after I grad as I have the money I’ll need for it already.
Great video!
At one time back on the 70's, I had both a 61 and 62 Vette as a daily driver!. Nuts. I know.
Magnetic Ride Control is the solution if you want the most comfortable riding Vette. Surprised it wasn't mentioned in this vid!
This is just the video i needed, im on the edge of getting a 2018 corvette stingray and answered the questions i had :)
0% financing for 72 months on 2019 vets right now. Ends April 1st, 2019.
Great video!! Would have loved to hear your experience on ground clearance issues.
How often do you have another sports car pull up beside you while you're driving and minding your own business and try to coax you into racing them?
DarkStoneCastle I bet alot. I drive a bmw 335i and I get them all the time in the city

Thanks! I really appreciate the feedback 👍🏻
Daily drove it too
I plan on buying a C6 Z06 in next couple years after I finish school as a daily but also keeping my truck as a second vehicle.
Yeah, 460hp is way more than 90% of what you will ever need. Better pop, pops and fuel mileage. I get 21 mpg in Eco at 75 mph with the Z06
Rusty Zipper I’m not buying it to keep it stock.

Rusty Zipper only on Hondas
Austin - damn it, I thought for sure I had 1200 whp now with my stickers. I haven’t been to the Dyno, but I have an App on my phone to confirm it. 🤣
I own a 2019 and have had a 2016 C7 corvette. Both were great in the winter and I commute to Chicago every day all year round.
Great video bro! It makes me want a C7 so bad. My C6 is very nice, but I know the C7 is much nicer! Thank you for all the facts and figures too!
But it’s very European like corvette’s being very American but both are for mid life crisis

This is good information to know, Thanks
My Corvette runs great all year as a daily. Garage kept in Florida. Love it.
I keep my C7 in the garage due to salt on the road now and I drive my CT6 Cadillac

I put my C5 in the garage too & just drive my truck. But i've actually had to replace my exhaust system 3 times on my 2002 F-150 in the last 16 yrs becuz of road salt. Nasty stuff.
steven wentling you're full of shit!💯💩
When I get this car hell yea I’m daily driving it 😂😂😂
I bought a c7 also 2017 , just can get use to not having a spare tire, but I loved it.
Wait, u live in South Carolina? Same bro! I got a red C6 and maybe we could hit up sometime!
Nice! It's always nice to hear from someone local 👍🏻
Same my c6 is burgundy though (: love how many vette guys and girls we have down here.
I was surprised that you didn't mention the magnetic suspension option. I would recommend getting it if the car was going to be used where the roads are rough and certainly
as a daily driver car. I would also suggest the Grand Sport with medium profile tires for ride comfort and wet roads. The GS keeps the rear end from breaking loose.
😎👍🏻 helpful, thanks!
I daily drove my 99' C5 for 3 years. And I live in the UK. Never had a problem in any weather on Toyo proxies tyres.
Great information! Thank you!!

Love it.

Agree with all points. I've driven a Vette for 22 years, with zero issues.

Stay2Fit lol you got a lemon. I rev, race, 0-60 on 35 speed limit every chance I get and still get 12 mpg in city
It's obvious her Corvette is rotary swapped
Your balling
I Daily drive a 2006 C6.
+it feels good to drive all the time
+comfortable
+decent gas mileage
+roof pops off in nice weather
-center console gets very hot
-people have no patients for you on the road (get mad when you aren't driving like a grandmother)
All in all, decent car but only other vette drivers will like your car.
I own an 05 C6. Not my daily driver but love driving it when I get the chance.
