Hey girl hey!! Pro organizer here. Just wanted to give my 2 cents. If I’m not mistaken the drawer next to the fridge is the chocolate drawer. That would be the perfect place for all your spices. Top cabinets should be for rarely used items like a few times a year. I would reshuffle a lower cabinet for all of baking stuff and other large spices. Girl, I’ve been watching you from the beginning. You are doing an amazing job, but I wish I could fly in and organize that kitchen for you. Lol😂
As a short person I would recommend that you put your spices closer down to make it easier when you cook. A drawer next to your stove maybe would work or the drawers behind the stove. Good luck.
Spice expiration is the purest "best before" because they really tend to lose their flavour after that amount of time. Spices are not something I encourage people to keep because they're "still good"! BUT I encourage people to look at which spices always expire before they're used up. Bulk stores let you buy EXACTLY the amount of a spice that you need, so it doesn't go to waste OR add another thing to store. 😊 Anyway, I'm definitely a "you do you" person, but I also love sharing knowledge or ideas that could help. An idea for above the fridge for the divided cabinet: can you take the plates from the cabinet next door to it and prop them up in that divided cabinet? Or maybe store your light bulbs on one side and those plates on thr other side? You did great with the decluttering! Fun to watch and motivating!
Finally someone who isn't into the whole decantering craze!! I would rather keep things in their boxes than to go through the hassle of putting them in different canisters. I also have the clips in my cabinets and several are a little bowed because items on them were too heavy.
I find it interesting to see what people store in their “out of the way “ kitchen cabinets. It looks like you have plenty of cabinet space but I’m not quite sure how useful it all is. I have never been totally happy with any of my kitchens… there is always something! Over the last 40 years I’ve finally realized that the only stuff that should be stored in your kitchen is items that you actually use in the kitchen. Such a simple idea yet profound. No plastic Easter eggs, bingo markers, extra lightbulbs, toys or whatever. After I got rid of a lot of the crap ( it wasn’t easy to let go) it really did make a difference in my level of satisfaction with my kitchen.

I get overwhelmed so easy. Hubs had a few days off so today I cleaned the light in the kitchen. We took down everything on the planter ledges in the kitchen and wiped them and some of the walls down. Then we took everything off the counters and cleaned them. We then wiped down everything that went back onto the counters. I feel so much better.
You can use your bingo dotters as a fun little educational craft for EJ. Write letters big with sharpie markers on a piece of paper and have him use the dotters to “trace” dot along the letters. My kids loved doing that. If you get different colors he can make pictures with the dotters as well.
I was thinking about the cupboard above your fridge....to save some space on the right side, you could stand the stack of plates on their side and move them to one of the empty slots on the left side, since those dividers are tricky to use. This way you can make use of what is there while also being able to use 1 or 2 of the bins that you wanted to on the opposite side (one for the lightbulbs and whatever else you want to add up there). Just an idea!
Omg I got so scared when you did quality control on the candy canes! I have two crowns and every time I’ve had an issues it’s been because of the dang stale candy!! I can’t resist a good candy cane… or a bad candy cane 😅
Love the Command Center. It's sorta like that space was made to be used that way. Last fall I decluttered the basement and I started to do it again this month. It's going to be easier this time around. I am surprised how well my storage systems did work. You're so inspiring for me.

Hey Jodie my dear, you are a totally inspiration to me. I am redoing my basement all the clutter HOLY COW !! OMG !! LOL !! I have cardboard boxes in my basement full of excuse my language crap. My 23 yr old daughter and imoves into this place 11 years ago. And we decluttered then but... we moved to different rooms. We have a finished basement bedroom and we threw everything in that room and shut the door LOL !! now my daughter decided to move her bedroom into the finished bedroom downstairs. We moved EVERYTHING !! out of the room GOD HELP ME !! LOL !! we had boxed to the ceiling. We moved into this house while my daughter was still in high-school. I was working alot till... I got hurt badly at work had to have surgery on my shoulder and my knee at the same time in one day. To the point Jodie I can not work anymore. I came home and had to have someone to come in and take care of me while my daughter was at school. It was TOTALLY aweful. So.... long story short i had to wait to heal to the point I could go up and down the stairs. To supervise the declutter why my daughter's friends helped her throw things out and then in the process I bought a whole bunch of Rubbermaid totes. SO !! ya that's my story and now I am making my basement into a rec room. Laundry room will have its own room with a door LOL !! there will be sectional down there too with a TV. So ya. It's coming along well. Anyway I have talked your ear off GOD BLESS !! Some things that are REALLY expired I throw away. Somethings I use, like canned goods. We never throw those away. I have stopped buying cereal because we weren't eating it fast enough. I just finished a box that expired in 21 😂 It wasn't open, I opened it and it was good 🤷♀️. I would love to organize my spices like Grayson BUT those jars and labels are pricey and all my drawers are full of junk 🤦🏻♀️but it does look so nice. I went the easy way and bought 4 of the magnetic spice shelves for the side of my fridge. Those can also be pricey but I watched for them to go on sale before I bought them. You will never be able to get rid of the crib, Tom loves it tooooo much! ❤️
Ash yes it so expensive to buy the clear jars and label. And I tend to buy the bigger spices so I’d have extra that would need to be stored anyway. Just too much for me 🤷♀️ Wow your kids aren’t big cereal eaters? I can hardly keep in the house between the girls and my husband.
Sheet pans go between the dividers above the fridge. Super nice to have if you have pans! Many UA-camrs use small baskets with a handle for their spices. I think that would benefit you especially with the height of the cabinet
One hack I do for my spice cabinet is to buy 2 small round cake pans and a bag of marbles from the dollar store and put the marbles between the two pans and presto…a smallish $3.75 lazy Susan 😊
Just watched this and it's funny, because I just ordered things for my spices. I was getting tired of seeing my cupboards so messy and couldn't see all my spices. I got a slice rack and all matching jars to go on it. Hopefully, this will work. Thanks Jodi for the inspiration of decluttering, it feels and looks better. 🙂

Just a quick thought, suggestion, if you have the room, keep your coffee in the freezer. It stays fresh longer. Even though we drink coffee on a daily basis, i keep mine in the freezer.
Keep those little containers! Great for art supplies and you can even use them for paper clips, bread ties, tooth picks and all sorts of things! Just remove or cover up the labels!
Your reorganizing looks good. If the sticky on your paper towel holder or hook organizer goes out the gorilla tape is great for sticking stuff up. Have a good weekend.

I bought spices 4 years ago for Christmas for cakes, mince pies etc. I don't even know if it's expired but I'm using the rest of them this year. I don't use them much the rest of the year. Jodi, I love your videos, you always make me feel like you're right in my house having a cuppa. I am 5'0" and my husband is 6'2" tall. when he used to put the shopping away, I always made sure I had the step ladder nearby. haha. Now he's recovering from long COVID I put the shopping away myself and the step ladder stays where it is! haha. Never apologise for family duties, they MUST always come first, before any video.
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 thank you, he got it after he had to go to hospital with a bad reaction to the COVID jab and somehow contracted it there. That was 2 years ago. He was in hospital for 5 weeks and we were told it will 'take it's course' nobody knew or knows how long, but thank the good lord that he is still with us. Sometimes life hits hard but it's then God holds our hand and NEVER let's go. Your videos through all that inspired me to do things in bite sizes and although my home isn't Pinterest photo worthy it's still Home and lived in and clean.

Great job decluttering! If you are looking for an idea for the cabinet with the dividers you could take the plates from the other side and stack them sideways in the dividers.
Hi Jodi, I'm a big fan of your realistic declutturing and organization. I think that the cabinet with dividers, above your refrigerator that you emptied out can be used for all the light bulbs and other miscellaneous stuff that you loosely organized in adjacent shelf with those plates. This might help in creating space to put another bin, maybe a smaller one in there next to the plates. Keep up the good work and thanks for the inspo ❤

I can’t remember what all her specific labels were,but the three that resonated with me was: ACTION,FILE and TIME WILL TELL. The idea is to stash your mail and papers all week in those broad categories and then on Sunday (or whatever day you want) you MAKE SURE that you deal with the ACTION folder but if you don’t do any filing that week,so what. The same with the TIME WILL TELL folder. ( it’s for catalogs and other things that you Might want to look into) Now I have a small basket like you and don’t stress about papers anymore because EVERYTHING that is important is taken care of weekly (or I can put my hands on it if needed) and quite frankly,by the time I look in the TIME WILL TELL folder, usually the interest has passed or it has expired and I discard it. 🤭
Hi Jodi. Hope Donna Jean is feeling better. Kitchen is looking good. The skinny cabinet would be a great place for cookie sheets and muffin pans if you are figuring out what to store there., if that works for you 😊. But as usual, everything is looking great.

Old spices are not bad for unless they have bugs in it (I avoid this by putting spice container in freezer for 24 hrs as soon as I buy them), otherwise they just total loose their flavor.
In my house we changed the kitchen faucet just last weekend and its so much better I love it I can't believe how long it took us to change it also I recently bought all new utensils those needed replacing too I love watching ur declutter and organizing videos it makes me want to do the same too
Great job Jody! One suggestions is to unmount the landline. I think it would look nicer sitting on the counter vs mounted up high . Art work would be nice there instead .

@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 thank you, he got it after he had to go to hospital with a bad reaction to the COVID jab and somehow contracted it there. That was 2 years ago. He was in hospital for 5 weeks and we were told it will 'take it's course' nobody knew or knows how long, but thank the good lord that he is still with us. Sometimes life hits hard but it's then God holds our hand and NEVER let's go.
Your videos through all that inspired me to do things in bite sizes and although my home isn't Pinterest photo worthy it's still Home and lived in and clean.

Great job decluttering! If you are looking for an idea for the cabinet with the dividers you could take the plates from the other side and stack them sideways in the dividers.

Hi Jodi, I also like that area for a command center. We just Dec littered our bedroom closets. Amazing what you find in these little hidey holes!
Hi Jodi, I'm a big fan of your realistic declutturing and organization.
I think that the cabinet with dividers, above your refrigerator that you emptied out can be used for all the light bulbs and other miscellaneous stuff that you loosely organized in adjacent shelf with those plates.
This might help in creating space to put another bin, maybe a smaller one in there next to the plates.

I had other suggestions for a coffee bar but we don’t drink coffee so a command center was perfect and I love how it turned out 😊
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 I’m SO glad!😁 “The Minimal Mom” had a video entitled “The Sunday Basket” where she had about five file folders in a basket. I can’t remember what all her specific labels were,but the three that resonated with me was: ACTION,FILE and TIME WILL TELL. The idea is to stash your mail and papers all week in those broad categories and then on Sunday (or whatever day you want) you MAKE SURE that you deal with the ACTION folder but if you don’t do any filing that week,so what. The same with the TIME WILL TELL folder. ( it’s for catalogs and other things that you Might want to look into) Now I have a small basket like you and don’t stress about papers anymore because EVERYTHING that is important is taken care of weekly (or I can put my hands on it if needed) and quite frankly,by the time I look in the TIME WILL TELL folder, usually the interest has passed or it has expired and I discard it. 🤭

Hi Jodi. Hope Donna Jean is feeling better. Kitchen is looking good. The skinny cabinet would be a great place for cookie sheets and muffin pans if you are figuring out what to store there., if that works for you 😊. But as usual, everything is looking great.

Old spices are not bad for unless they have bugs in it (I avoid this by putting spice container in freezer for 24 hrs as soon as I buy them), otherwise they just total loose their flavor.
In my house we changed the kitchen faucet just last weekend and its so much better I love it I can't believe how long it took us to change it also I recently bought all new utensils those needed replacing too I love watching ur declutter and organizing videos it makes me want to do the same too

Great job Jody! One suggestions is to unmount the landline. I think it would look nicer sitting on the counter vs mounted up high . Art work would be nice there instead .
