I'm thinking of it. It's using silicon gel and cornstarch to mold and then an epoxy or JB Weld to cast the part. Specially for restorations where you can't easily find parts.
Hi, I'm rebuilding a 150 Benley- has the same speedo gear. I could use a bit of guidance. What part has the drive dogs for the speedo transmission and front wheel connection. Sorry if I'm being a little dense here, but connection seems to be missing for me Thanks in Advance, Douglas
Hi Doug. I didn't know/think the Speedo Drive unit, used on the CB200, was used on any other model. You may find the microfiche parts drawings for your bike on the CSM website, they may even have the missing parts you could order. See their Honda models listing page to see if your bike is there: www.cmsnl.com/honda-motorcycles_model2/. If I have the correct model (www.cmsnl.com/honda-ca95_model113/) and parts, unlike the CB200 speedo drive unit which acsepts "dogs" that are attached to the wheel hub the C95 unit has the dogs that engage into the wheel hub via a plate. The CA95's unit... well that one looks like it works via a friction fit to the plate attached to the wheel hub! Try the cmsnl website, looks like they do have the speedo units parts in stock IF I have the right model. Good luck with it.
Nice job..I think I'm just gonna spray mine with wd40 to clean it up a bit and then spray white lithium lol.. I appreciate the proper way I just dont think I have it in me

What is the wheel shaft diameter for the CB200T, I need a unit for a custom build, with 14mm dia shaft, with housing no deeper (thicker) than 17mm if possible.
@@garethowen7050 yeah my speedo gear won't turn at all, the worm feels jammed. Speedometer is motionless at speed. Might have to replace the speedo gear
@@shaunflavour6366 That's rough, I only managed to strip the unit part way. No idea how to strip the rest down. The good news is that the part is often on ebay, sometimes new old stock. If the unit has jammed, do check the drive plate on the wheel to make sure its OK.

I cant find any Lm grease, Does white lithium grease work to?
Not sure what White lithium grease is but LM is basic Lithium grease. So it may be ok.
You may have knackered the parts with your tools!!!

I think the bolt is 15mm Dia. But will double check for you.
What are you using to turn the worm?
At around 10min in I use a double ended pin vise attached to the out put spline. Is that what you mean?

what solution did you use to clean the speedo?
Hi there. It's just white spirit. It's done some cleaning already, so a bit grubby. But it's just white spirit.
