Have you guys started the Mapperton Fiddlers Contest yet? Why not piggyback it onto the Mapperton Christmas Fair, and why not have a Fair in the summer too? July or August would be nice. When is the weather the best? "Bring the Family and A Picnic to the First Annual Mapperton Fiddler's Contest, Country Dance, and Art Fair". Give stimulus to fiddlers, folk songs, country music and old country dances! Support the Arts! Also, I think you need to have colored pennant flags hanging in a line somewhere for the fair. Like around the parking lot area. Its so cute and festive looking! Get people a little excited!
Thank you for taking the time to stop by all the vendors and giving us a glimpse of their products. I enjoyed seeing all the nifty crafty things. Good job for supporting the local artists and businesses as well.
Omg I remember when Mapperton only had 3k subs, maybe even less. I enjoyed seeing Mr. and Mrs. Sandwich, they were so quietly elegant and passionate about their family history. And at the time, NO OTHER aristocratic houses had dedicated UA-cam channels, now I'm starting to see a few try. But it's just different! I love the Mapperton family, they're aristocratic but relatable, I was and always will be rooting for Julie. I hated that they canceled her show but now she's producing her own, so that was a blessing in disguise!
Thank you!!! WOW - amazing you remember that - that's exactly right - 3K subs about 2 years ago and lo and behold.. here we are! Yes, we were the first and there are a couple more on now but as you say completely different than what we're doing. Thank you for joining us here - every single Saturday xx Julie
I certainly wish I had had the opportunity to come to your Christmas fair. I’m Canadian, and when I lived in England over 30 years ago, I went to the local stately home at Christmas for their fairs. And, I still remember them. This one looks fabulous, especially with the food on offer, too. Congrats for its success!! Cheers, Judy
Julie -- You grew up on the wrong part of the US if you didn't have Christmas Fair/ Bazaar/ Craft Show. In Ohio we have those all year and I recently have attended 3 different Christmas crafts shows, one of which had over 100 vendors, mostly all local hand made items....
☮️♥️☀️🌹 Care About You! Hi Julie and Luke Beautiful day! You showed us the fabulous stalls at your estate for the Christmas fair and then you showed us all the things you're going to get the next day. Since you're showing us the vendor's table, shop along by showing us what you want, give it to the vendor and tell them you'll pick it up tomorrow, by going along to all the vendor's and spotting the things you like. They would of been more than happy to hold it for you until the next day, then all you would have to do is pay for it and pick it up. You would save a ton of time, by not having to do it all over again, maybe just finding one or two other things you have to have. Also, their items most of the time is one of a kind. It doesn't mean it'll still be there tomorrow like you think, because you didn't put a hold on it. Also, it would be a lot better for you and your vendor's not to be shouting to them and having to talk loud, by buying a small loudspeaker that everyone under the tent can get your attention and it looks more organized. Especially if you're going to be doing these events all the time, you really need to get a small loudspeaker. Speakers also work very good for functions and celebrations, even in your restaurant if you tell someone something so you don't have to shout, especially since you want their attention. I'm sure since they're older people at the fair, they would appreciate a loud speaker! Jingle bell rock!❄️☃️🎅
I have just realised, as I sit here with my cup of tea watching this episode, you guys always make me feel as though I’m sitting there with you talking ‘to me’, not ‘at me’. It’s nice, friendly and I find myself smiling and wanting to add my five pence worth here and there…even though I know you won’t hear me. Happy Christmas 🎄
I enjoyed watching this. It's a nice thing that you are doing for your neighbors as well as yourself to keep Mapperton going. Hope you do it again next year and you have better weather.
We have many Christmas Bazaars where I live in Kentucky, USA. I love them. I knew the word of the day because Downton Abbey. You are an absolute darling, Julie. Happy Christmas to you and Luke and family!
I wish I could live close by so as to help out with things Mapperton. I love feeling like I am part of a family and the estate is like mine. I have an older small house so I understand there is always something in needing a "fix or replace". Wishing all of you a Merry ànd Blessed Christmas from Pennsylvania USA
Congrats on ur successful Christmas Fair,Julie! I love you were out there in ur jeans and hat greeting everyone and doing tickets. Such a great team at Mapperton!Marquis set up was just right, Cafe looked inviting.I support and shop local businesses here in USA whenever I can.So important!
Merry Christmas Julie, Luke, Caroline and John, Stephen and Claire and to the amazing staff!!!!! Beautiful ❤️! I wish I was there!!!!!! My homeland is calling me!!!!!
"crazy wonderful" Julie, you make my day!! You girl, you save Mapperton from deterioration as so many Manor Houses in England at this time nowadays.🤗❤ Applaud to you!🤴👸
This is the perfect weekend event close to the holidays, especially with the tent! Everyone will be so happy to shop and stay dry rather than being out on a street and have to duck in and out of shops. WELL DONE!!
Merry Christmas Julie from The Maine Artist Retreat on the southern coast of Maine. We love watching all your historic shows and the restoration of Mapperton. What a treat! We hope to visit Mapperton one day soon.
Hi Julie from Newcastle Australia. I thoroughly enjoy all your videos . Mapperton is amazing. Thankyou for sharing your beautiful home with its amazing history. I admire you and Luke for all you do to preserve it for future generations .
What a wonderful success on not such a wonderful day! Everything looks great and so beautifully displayed. Thanks for posting the names of the vendors as I will check them out. Hope tomorrow brings better weather and another successful day!
I just started watching this and can’t wait to see this! Maybe my hometown outside Chicago was different but we had a church Christmas bazaar at St. Andrews Episcopal church for years and it was so fun to see the handmade crafts, baked goods and games they would come up with! So this brings back delightful memories for me.
I have to beg to differ…when I was growing up, in the United States, we always had Community Christmas fairs, bazaars…holiday gatherings… still do…nonetheless ..this was a lovely video…Merry Christmas 🎄
I am from Nebraska USA. We have had Christmas craft fairs for as long as I can remember. They are so much fun with so many talented people with their wonderful wares! When will we see the Earl and Countess again? I love them please have them on again soon!
Julie, Community fairs with local artists are all the rage here in California. I agree that they were not always a big deal when we were growing up in the US.
Before the pandemic a local museum here in Connecticut held similar Christmas fairs and they were LOVELY! It was so nice to be able to shop from and support local vendors rather than ordering online or going to a big box store, and really helped us get into the holiday spirit. Unfortunately they haven't re-started them but most of the churches have been holding their Christmas fairs/bazaars and they have a little bit of that feeling.
For next year, consider having someone who knows crafts do a walk around. You might also consider researching whether or not there are any well-known local crafts persons with UA-cam channels who might want to do interviews. It will build excitement for next year's event.
I know it was a lot of work for all of you, however, it looked like so much fun. Thank you for listing the local artists websites as I enjoyed scrolling their beautiful pieces. Congratulations and Merry Christmas.
Hi JULIE, I take organic collegan peptides...for healing purposes too..repairs torn meniscus, torn ligaments, torn muscles, torn cartlidge....great for hair, skin nails too..they Drs Give to cancer patients too For healing...great stuff. Glad this came back on.. Happy holidays Y'all.. Merry CHRISTmas...
I am OVER THE MOON thrilled for your success. Just started following you and wish I was there for the fair. Here's wishing you all the most beautiful season. Merry Christmas! 🌼
Julie, again, you are so impressive 👏 😍 the greatest and most industrious Super Star Mapperton has ever had. Your energy, devotion, passion is endless. You also have a great team. Congratulations to you my dear. You inspire me everytime I watch. You're family is so blessed to have you! So is England! Merry Christmas love from Tampa ♥️✝️🎄
Hi Julie...we do have craft shows in the U.S and have had since the 80s or before that I remember, usually ones for every season. The summer ones are usually combined with county fairs and always the day or weekend after Thanksgiving leading all the way up to Christmas. Christmas in July is also a great craft show time.
I’m in Naples Florida US & I loved this video. I wish I could be there & shop the many amazing vendors! Mapper ton is on my list to visit on my next trip to the UK!!!
I am just getting to watch this episode and I got to tell you that we have experienced 65-75 mile an hour wind gusts here in Colorado. In some parts even higher! This spring and last summer. So glad your fair didn’t blow away.😊
I live outside Nashville, TN and Christmas/Holiday Fairs are a annual thing and they begin mid-October and run up to Christmas! I go to an average of 6 - sometimes more since new ones pop up every year. The new thing is Barn Sales and they are seasonal - Spring/Fall/Christmas.
I used your demo from last year to make a whole lot of Christmas crackers! I’m not a crafty person, but I love engineering these small explosive 💥Christmas crackers. Using paper towel rolls cut in half! Bought 140 cracker strips on line!
Yes you deserve an award for producing amazing content! For me it was when you visited your old family castle with your father in law and his sister! Fabulous❤
Really neat to see y’all and the Christmas Fair! Can you show the treats & drinks you’re selling next time? Maybe how you make some of them, too. Thanks!! Merry Christmas!
Watching this was SO enjoyable - good old local community fun. I hope you did really well for Mapperton - you all do work so hard. Must come and visit you some day.
So excited for 2nd Christmas Fair! You are amazing! Much Love from America! Can't wait to share our clean water products and soil enhancements as well as fertilizer NO Petrochemicals Plant based! Coming to UK in March hope to schedule see you then!
Smiled throughout the entire video! Loved it. Some ideas for ur future Christmas Market Fair event...bcz after next year it becomes the Annual Mapperton Christmas Market Fair! Maybe consider a Short or quick prelude a month and the fortnight before to post those who will have stalls and mark who ships to US and/or globally as lots of people might want to shop early. Also, for the raffle, two suggestions. 1. Add an online only basket so those who watch can buy tickets. 2. Create a raffle section where the stall owners and/or other local businesses can donate a basket to ur cause. People buy various amounts of tickets and drop them into a collection box associated with the gift basket. People like to win! Congratulations on a successful holiday event!
Omg! Those crochet bags!!! My great aunt crocheted me a variety of hobo bags, fully lined and beaded in the 70's! They were gorgeous....sure wish I had them now. Turquoise, yellow, orange, blue, brown, black, red, green, pink and others..at least one for every outfit! Ain't Jo, still miss you!!!
Everything about Mapperton, Luke, Julie and your children, brings me such joy, and warms my heart. I'm so glad to have found both channels, Julie. Happy holidays to you and yours 🇺🇲🇬🇧💞
Fun thank you, I love the old estates so much. I always wanted to be able to win millions of dollars in the lottery here in the US so I could go and live there, but alas I am 81 and have run out of time. I love to listen to you both.
Julie, here in the south we have Christmas fairs. I too lived in Chicago and Waukeegan for 2 years and I missed the Christmas fairs of the South. If you get back to America, come at Christmas and go to Nashville, or another great city of the south and you will find great Christmas fairs.
To be fair, (pun intended), in Canada, where I grew up, the community Christmas Fair was actually one’s church bazaar. This was often held in November and was a wonderful event to kick off the Christmas season. These bazaars were usually organized by the women’s auxiliary of the church, and included tables laden with home baking, hand-knitted articles, Christmas decorations, floral arrangements and any number of other marvellous goodies for sale. The proceeds from these sales and from the tea room were a large part of the church’s annual income. I have fond memories of these bazaars, they were magical. I think with the decline of the number of church parishioners in every denomination the community Christmas Market or Fair has gained popularity. Bazaar or Fair, both are a lovely community gathering at Christmas.
Wow, really awesome Christmas 🎄 market, well done for surviving the stormy weather, the good old Christmas spirit kept you all happy merry even so thank goodness. Thank you for another really enjoyable Mapperton video!
Love the Christmas fair!! I do like to shop at craft shows, which our area has a lot around the holidays. Lots of local business and crafters sell their work. BUT it is not nearly as festive and fun.
It's March right now and I have just watched your Christmas fair video! It all looks fantastic. You've done a great job with Mapperton. Thank you! I will look through the selection of vendors!
It’s been pouring with rain here too in Auckland NZ too and we don’t have the excuse that it is winter. Summer seems to have forgotten to arrive this year😵💫
Oh! I have another idea! Does Mapperton have a family crest to put on a pennant flag to fly from the battlements when you are home, and little mini flags to sell at the gift shop? You could have a little booklet explaining the crest and its history.
Seasons Greetings!!! So lovely and a bit goofy and such a joy to watch. We are in transition so this year we have not one trinket up and so I truly enjoyed this celebration. Absolutely fabulous! Merry Christmas and we wish for you all the Happiest of New Years!
Oh my goodness...so much work, so much cold, and yet you're all having so much fun. What a great raffle prize!!!! Wonderful video...Luke is right, we all love Christmas! ❤️ 🎄
you should set up a table at the entrance to offer raffle tickets as people enter the festival. Everyone gets a chance to win, and you would not have to go from tent to tent asking for people to purchase tickets.
If you didn't have Christmas community vendor fairs where you lived in America, that is sad. But in the two states I lived and live in, we have HUGE community fairs! They have them all over. It was a very nice fair, though, well done! Hopefully you raised some good money for repairs.
Bovine collagen worked wonders, but as a vegetarian I had to switch to marine collagen. The one I currently use does ok - not as good as the Bovine, so I will try the Correxiko next order - it's in my Amazon cart. Thanks for the recommendation.
Love that you are taking care of yourself! I hope that you are using L-ascorbic acid/vitamin a every morning. That antioxidant is the best thing for your lovely skin besides sunscreen. Happy Holidays🎄
Looks like a lovely day was had by everyone. I will sure be going to visit some "ETSY" sites. What I miss on "Mapperton Live" lately is the Earl and Countess of Sandwich, please tell them Happy Christmas from Louisiana, USA.
That was so cute when you said "It's no picnic even for the family that invented the sandwich". 😄
Lolololol
I laughed at that too!
Have you guys started the Mapperton Fiddlers Contest yet? Why not piggyback it onto the Mapperton Christmas Fair, and why not have a Fair in the summer too? July or August would be nice. I am just getting to watch this episode and I got to tell you that we have experienced 65-75 mile an hour wind gusts here in Colorado. In some parts even higher! This spring and last summer. So glad your fair didn’t blow away.😊
Marvellous idea to organise this X-mas Fair! Congratulations on the success!!!
Thank you so much!
You do me too much honour 😉
Love you guys ..fun to watch state side
I live outside Nashville, TN and Christmas/Holiday Fairs are a annual thing and they begin mid-October and run up to Christmas! I go to an average of 6 - sometimes more since new ones pop up every year. The new thing is Barn Sales and they are seasonal - Spring/Fall/Christmas.
Congratulations on your Christmas Fair🎄Julie& Luke and your family, enjoy the Holiday season…thank you for the fun and educational videos!
Happy holidays!
Happy Christmas Luke, Julie and family. And yes the word Christmas in the title did get me to watch this video first. So Luke was right.
I used your demo from last year to make a whole lot of Christmas crackers! I’m not a crafty person, but I love engineering these small explosive 💥Christmas crackers. Using paper towel rolls cut in half! Bought 140 cracker strips on line!
In Australia we do a very little Xmas in July. It's the closest thing we have to a white Xmas
So happy the fair was such a big success. It looked so fun. Merry Christmas!
Yes you deserve an award for producing amazing content! For me it was when you visited your old family castle with your father in law and his sister! Fabulous❤

Glad you enjoyed it!
I absolutely loved your tour of the vendors and their stalls!
Market looks like such fun. I love the historic word of the week, I already knew the ones so far, but I watch a lot of British programming.
Julie does have some Cora Crawley (Downton Abbey) vibe, doesn't she? 😍😍
So excited for 2nd Christmas Fair! You are amazing! Much Love from America! Can't wait to share our clean water products and soil enhancements as well as fertilizer NO Petrochemicals Plant based! Coming to UK in March hope to schedule see you then!

How very, very lovely! Kudos to all who made this day so special and especially Julie for, well, being so very enthusiastically Julie!!
In US, will check website for goodies! Lovely!

The Christmas Faire looked amazing with a fantastic mix of local vendors... thank you for sharing.
yup -- really liking the Historic House Word of the Week
Your code for the patreon works great. No issues at all. Aloha from Oahu!! :)
Holly deserves a raise! or at least a Christmas bonus. wow
You might also consider doing holiday horse drawn carriage rides around the estate during the holiday fair .
We have these in small towns, love Christmas fairs❤🎄⛪️
I'm from Philadelphia, PA USA and will be traveling to London this year Christmas time. I would love to volunteer for your next Christmas fair! 😃
I loved the whole video and hope you exceeded the goal of attendance, but my highlight was Holly shoveling wood chips. What a trooper!

Seasons Greetings!!! So lovely and a bit goofy and such a joy to watch. We are in transition so this year we have not one trinket up and so I truly enjoyed this celebration. Absolutely fabulous! Merry Christmas and we wish for you all the Happiest of New Years!
Happy holidays!
This type of Christmas market is pretty popular in the southern USA. Loved this episode! Happy holidays to you and yours!
Oh my goodness...so much work, so much cold, and yet you're all having so much fun. What a great raffle prize!!!! Wonderful video...Luke is right, we all love Christmas! ❤️ 🎄
Thanks so much 😊
Looks like The Christmas Market is a great success. A lot of talent with the arts and crafts:)
An American here. Church Christmas bazaars have been going on for a very long time.
you should set up a table at the entrance to offer raffle tickets as people enter the festival. Everyone gets a chance to win, and you would not have to go from tent to tent asking for people to purchase tickets.
That's one way to get to know the neighbors. 😀
Love the word of the week sorry to miss it live my notifications aren't working so I miss it.
Happy Holidays from Missouri, what a nice Christmas fair you have there,,all the crochet hats and scarfs are wonderful...and the yummy goodies,lol...
If you didn't have Christmas community vendor fairs where you lived in America, that is sad. But in the two states I lived and live in, we have HUGE community fairs! They have them all over. It was a very nice fair, though, well done! Hopefully you raised some good money for repairs.
🙋🏼♀️🕊. You are sure blessed with such .. good help 🕊🕊🕊🕊
