    Note that in Companion 2.2 and newer, you need to enable this using the Configuration Wizard in Companion. This is a new step and the plugin won't work until you change that setting in Companion!

    Hey, great vid! I may have missed it in the video. But after setup, does the companion and or streamdeck software launch in startup with Windows? So that it would be ready to use straight away if the PC is just turned on and not having to launch into software etc.?

      I’m using a Mac so I can’t for sure. I know on the Mac that Streamdeck software launches at startup so I imagine that in Windows it will be the same.

    I recently picked up a 15-button MK.2 Stream Deck and installed Companion on a Windows 11 machine. I closed the Stream Deck software and Companion discovered the Stream Deck upon rescan. The default profile had 3 buttons assigned for Previous and Next pages, and I think Home. I'm not in front of my system at the moment. When I look at the Companion profile, those 3 buttons appear across the pages...1, 2, 3 and so on. However, when I pressed the Next page button, it took me to a page of blank buttons. Well, blank except I see numbers like 99.1 99.2 and so on. Any ideas?

    Thank you Patrick to rephrase my comment. I want to put my PTZ optic on standby mode. I have done that through their SuperJoy controller. It has 4 customizable buttons and I added some number 88 01 ..... ff one for "on" and one for off. The steam deck with companion is the best option however I was wondering how can I put the camera on standby mode?

    Very useful video thanks. When I configure the PTZ (I already did it with all movements, preset positions and also buttons to store new presets), if now I need these buttons in other Streamdeck Profiles I should do it all again or is there a way to export and import only those keys in a new profile?Thanks

    • @EverydayTechTV
      @EverydayTechTV  Рік тому +1

      You are able to Export your buttons in Companion. Under the "Buttons" tab there is an Import / Export option. I believe you have to manually configure your "Connections" though. On the Streamdeck, there is also the option of Importing and Exporting your profiles as well.

    Thank you very much Patrick. I watched this three time and finally I can use companion as a plug-in which is a game changer.
    I was just wondering where doni go to add hex commands to ton on and off my PTZ. Would that be on companion or stream deck. And how do go about it.

    • @EverydayTechTV
      @EverydayTechTV  Рік тому

      I'm not exactly sure what command or what you are trying to do. Which PTZ camera are we talking about and what are you trying to do exactly?

    Super cool video thank you !
    I want to make a diy streamdeck.
    Do you think it is possible to use the streamdeck software or companion software for it?

    • @EverydayTechTV
      @EverydayTechTV  2 роки тому +1

      Unfortunately the stream deck software will only work with a stream deck. Companion is the way to go.

    Thanks Patrick for making this clear demo video. I have a question that I don't own a physicals Stream Deck, but I want to use the features on the Stream deck desktop software in particular the 'Windows Mover" function. If it possible to bring this feature over to Companion and use it through the Companion button? Thanks

    • @EverydayTechTV
      @EverydayTechTV  2 роки тому

      Unfortunately, you have to have a stream deck in order to use the stream deck software. You would have to find an equivalent Companion module, which it doesn't seem to have. The only other thing that I can think of is if there's a keyboard shortcut or a combination of shortcuts, then you can use Companion to execute those shortcuts.
