Could you explain a bit more on the VPN? I have a NordVPN account. Could I connect this device to my home network via an Ethernet cable, throw it into router mode and create a private, vpn’d network separate to my home network? Most devices I have tried seem to disable the VPN capability in router mode. I basically want to leave my existing home network alone and create another vpn protected Wi-Fi network but that seems difficult!

I’m considering installing Linux mint on my Mac mini 2012. I take it you did not (could not) upgrade the Mac OS, even with the ssd and extra ram.

I've been using the build Network Chuck did a while back (OpenWRT based, which is fine, I'm an OpenWRT user). I did watch your first RaspAP video and built one out real quick... but went back to Chuck's build because of the single radio issue.. Now that the RaspAP is using a secondary radio (usb) I really want to give this another look. BUT!!! with Chuck's build and this one I've found an issue. If you connect to the RaspAP and attach the WLAN1 to a travlel network... how do you navigate a captive portal if your hotel or coffeshop is using one? Because it is your Raspberry PI that needs to talk to that network before your devices can get on. Or is there a switch for CP passthru?

So I have the camlink 4K and I have the micro hdmi to hdmi cable but when plugging into the iPad via usb to usb c adapter I only see the top third of the video. The rest is a green block

opal be like 23$. i like how little power it uses with a gan usb-c power supply its like 8w less than my old router which means it pays for itself after 2 years lol. other models never bread even. i feel like older 2.4 wifi has better range... just a law of physics.

When I found out this feature is iPadOS 17, I was excited... my idea is to use it for Instagram Live Stream but using a good DLSR... unfortunately, instagram (so far) did not take advantage / it does not detect the external camera.... Yes I can do live stream on IG with the likes of OBS / mimolive, but with RTMP stream, you can't accept live guest during the live stream, which is what I really wanted to do.

Does it mean connecting to this router encrypts your data and prevents potential hackers from getting into your devices lets say your laptop? Im kinda confused, coz they say this router secures your connection, but then does it mean its the same functions as having a vpn then? and applying vpn to this router "further" secures your devices? Will greatly appreciate the response coz totally confused right now lol

what i noticed is that if you have the wifi dongle in when doing this it will use that automatically but if you plug it in after raspap is installed it uses it as the hotspot

Can u still use Ethernet cable at the end, so I use Ethernet on the router to the pi, or won’t that work? Also can I use an Ethernet cable from raspberry pi to a laptop? Do I need an adapter so usb to Ethernet or does the Ethernet port work already for it?

Thanks for the info on software control. I am using my GoStream to bring HDMI sources into my ATEM Mini Extreme SDI. (Via an HDMI to SDI converter). My cameras tend to be SDI based. The HDMI sources are typically Computers, and players. I have also used the GoStream for smaller standalone productions. Great little machine!

Great video and very well explained. Thank you. I use a USB 3 gigabyte Ethernet adaptor as the connection to the internet, where there is a cable available but switch it to a USB 3 wifi 6 adaptor when there is no cable but use your set up for the Wlan0 connection for the devices.

Question since your home wifi network has a password and lets you connect and it doesn't have a gate in front it's easy. Public WiFi hot spots often have a website where you must either login or agree to some terms before you have a valid internet connection. How can this be achived with RasAP?

Hi Mate, i've bought the same Wavlink display link with the updated DisplayLink drivers on a MacBook Air M2. Issue is that i can only get 1 monitor to display. Any ideas? Downgrade the drivers? or cables?
