I have been a devoted Jim Croce fan since my childhood, and as an adult I have been devoted to Tori. I always wondered why more people didn't cover his brilliant music. This video tells me why, No one could it justice like Tori did on this video.
“There’s something in my eyes You know it happens every time I think about the love that I thought would save me.” Jim Croce, one of, if not the very best singer songwriter who has ever existed.
You can tell she is thinking of her late brother when she sings the lyrics. "I've overcome the blow, I've learned to take it well, only wish my words could convince myself that it just wasn't reall" and so on. Such an emotional performance.
Got to get back inside my ❤️ and then start my new job tonight ( : Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 knocked on wood. Sitting on metal. Confusion city but I’m not lost about us
This was done in honor of her brother Michael, who was suddenly killed in a car accident in 2005, right before she recorded this. During this tour, she sang this song a few times for him.
To emotional. I do not like this version of this great song. It does not do the song justice. I am sorry, but it is like she has re-wrote the song or something. And the chord progressions are not correct in certain places in the song. She leaves out some of the chords in the song.
thats the point of doing a cover. if it’s just a carbon copy of the original in someone else’s voice, then there’s no point in covering it, just go listen to the original.
When life is hitting hard, I come back to this video.
It's the warm embrace I need, you know...

It has been seven years since I first discovered her and I am still convinced she is a goddess.
This has got to be one of her best covers.

I love this lady. Good lady.

Such an amazing cover. Breaks my heart and mends it all at once.
she blows my mind. a voice & sound all her own.
i'd have to say this is a great cover. Emotional and heartfelt.
this is by far one of my absolute favorite tori songs of all time. And its sad that Its not on any of her cds.
this song reduces me to tears
And I think it was my brothers favorite song to, when we were growing up 🤗
I always forget this exists. What a phenomenal performance. Crazy it was just a random webcast in a mostly looked-over era.
Thank you!!
Some of these comments...how can a performance be too emotional?! What a stupid thing to say.
Thank You 😊❤️
I love this. U
❤
My love of my life is always my sole mate. And my husband will never need to live up to my sole mate that way my heart stays ok.
So sad her brother died. RIP.
Beautiful. Let’s get stepping into me and soon
How does she come up with the names that she says in her songs like Nancy, Frank, Robert, and Peggy
Nancy (aka Beanie) was her best friend
This is the first time I've ever heard of a brother.

Since when?
But isn't that the point of making a cover? I mean, if her version is the same than the original... well, that's just karaoke.
Jim Crow-Shay is how its pronounced....
Hard to take a song like this and make it your own. I'll stick with the original.
i like tori amos a lot, but i'm not sure i enjoy this cover. the original is too good.
