i have a feeling these are wrapped with the same kind of machines i used to use when i worked in a magazine factory, they were called ARPACs. basically, it used 2 films of plastic, one on top and one on bottom. the box would roll thru, and then have a heat bar seal the 2 pieces together. it would run thru a 350 degree "oven" to get heat sealed in about 10 seconds. the bubbles you see are common with thicker plastic like this on one side is probably the back side of the box, as it comes out of the oven where its gets blasted with a fan to cool them faster.

Worked in an IBM print shop when I was young that had the same machine. A guy on my shift would use the machine to watch movies for free by watching, resealing and returning. God knows what else he resealed when no one was looking.

Awesome video on a very important topic.. I guess the only other thing I want is for some examples of re-sealing. Just like how you show actual fake cards along with real cards.
Real cards can be worth anything between less than 1 cent and 125000 dollars, so why would you put in fakes? That is just dumb. Fakes are more expensive. Also they can be identified as fakes.
I don't think you comprehended my comment. I am not implying that he actually PUT IN fake cards inside those starter decks.

Yea - Honestly, I heard that it is a REALLY BIG problem with Pokemon cards.. A ton of scammers selling re-sealed pokemon cards. Lots of young kids getting ripped off, sad.
being real here and not maymay as others choose to be, this is charity work here. Rudy legit took a hit to his wallet, to educate people and inform the masses of shady and scumbag Rudy's out there. I knew this was going to be a great channel to learn from, this video topped everything before it. (I do love the QnA videos tho, but the fact you made this that more personal, is god's work)

not to mention the fact when selling the box he doesn't reseal he just posts the link to the video of him cutting it open.

i found your channel a few days ago and im still impressed how can you tell the difference of a tampered box just from the wrapper (and know from what expansion is) to the little details of the cards at simple view

Who the hell pays $150 for a box of Fallen Empires or Homelands? The most expensive cards in either set are only worth a couple dollars. The fact that it's sealed 20 year old product can't add that much value to the box if the contents are underpowered and worthless. What am I missing here?

Rudy where did you the security gates for your store and how much did they cost you? do you think they are better than bracing a door. I am opening a new store and am curious about what safety options are the best to pursue.
14:25...and now it's 11k...that is 20x fold return on investment...for reference if you have purchased 10 boxes (a substantial position for 5 k you'd have a small house build on magic cards)
FYI, shipping companies will add your company logo to packaging wrap, std business. Know somebody that works there you can get card company logos on the wrap, just like new wax boxes 😊. I bet a lot of scammers use this route

Ice age was one of my favorites. I know it didn't have the most amazing cards and it certainly doesn't hold much value, but gosh I loved it. I wish I could get a couple of sealed starter and boxes and just open em up.

Every poly wrap has a mil measurement. It would do anyone good who buys sealed material to familiarize themselves with the mil of wizards poly wrap on particular product.

At my local Meijer Store, checked out 3 Mtg booster pack boxes. 2 were loosely shrink wrapped and had obvious tears in the cardboard. 1 was tightly shrink wrapped with no tears. So sad these stores have zero quality control for returns. (I would never buy from a big box store, just thought it was funny!)

This is why I don't buy from local comic and TCG stores. I don't trust them. I know depending on the area and state profit may be hard to come by. I go to Walmart because I don't see a trillion dollar company weighing packs looking for a 500 dollar card before shipping them to stores.
This plus searchable packs like AN and LG = nice double whammy. It doesn't have to be a starter box. I guess the next teachable lesson is showing exactly how easy searching packs is.

What you can do to avoid discoloration is use an induction hot needle which offers such a low/pinpoint profile that you can greatly diminish ambient heat thus minimizing fog a discoloration. At any rate I love shady Rudy he brings up the dark side of magic that no one is willing to admit exists.

I went to my lgs today and bought commander legends packs and they're resealed. Pack with No rare and all cards are out of order. Wrapper re glued and over sealed too tight, obviously re sealed.. individual booster packs... wth

people been getting scammed on sealed stuff for decades it was like selling NFTs to idiots before NFTs existed
Thanks Rudy I know now what to look for if i ever order any MTG boxes off the internet. But i mostly buy all my Magic products from my Local Game Store so i don't have to worry about shit like this.
I think you can get a pack of the 1st out of the box but you need two people. 1 person pulls one as far as possible then the 2nd guy should be able to tilt the other pack enough to get it one pack and if you get 1 you get them all.
You didn't show us what they look like once they've been resealed though. I wanted to see it.

thin piece of wood underplastic while heating with a hair dryer and applying pressure will heat the raper and let it stretch a little then you can pop out a pack do the stuff re incert and hit with raper again with the hair dryer and no pressure and it will shrink back to normal. takes practice but it works. or what works to is you can do like the shop buy me used to do and buy the same equipment they use in the factory and just repackage everything. but hope you never get noticed. the guy buy me did this for years and years one day he needed some help so he hired someone who new nothing about cards or so he thought and well the guy told people and someone robbed him 3 times the 3rd time the emploie who told went to the cops and sed he thinks he is getting robbed because of what he was doing. so the police did a stink on him and found the storage building he owned down the road was used for resealing cards and making fakes.
Hey Rudy, I've been selling some of my cards on the side, and sometimes I have trouble with my consumer. Like, I sell a $5 card, don't add a shipping label for tracking, then the consumer says that they never got the card and I end up paying for Ebay, PayPal, and Shipping fees.
The problem is that if I buy a shipping label it costs $3.30, and most of the time that's worth more than my package itself.
Is there a way that I can add tracking without constantly losing money, and my cards?
Because shipping without tracking is already like losing my money because of smart people taking advantage of me.
I've shipped a few hundred dollars worth of stuff, and i don't plan on stopping soon.

Nelliel That kind of stuff just sucks. Even tracking is no guarantee: I sold a tarmogoyf and got crazy insurance and tracking, but the tracking messed up, the buyer claimed he never got it, and USPS screwed me over on some bullshit reason for compensation.
Maybe I should down vote this?? Yeah I mean, that's capitalism for ya. Everyone is out to turn a profit and make/take what they can.

Interesting stuff -- would never have dawned on me. Makes me think booster sealed product is even more suspect because you can't even see the boosters from the outside. You could pull a "Raiders of The Lost Ark" move and put a steaming turd in the booster box approximately the weight of a subset of the boosters.

I bought a core 2020 bundle off of Ebay almost two weeks ago and after getting an a**hole reply when asked if it shipped, dude finally shipped it out like 5 days after that. So, I hope I'm not getting a resealed bundle that has been picked through. Is this even a concern when it comes to core sets? I'm kinda new to mtg although I had friends who played it back during the alpha and beta days but I didn't play then so I'm learning now.

Hey! I had a problem. I found my box had glue on the back part and one of the packs had one card that didn't have the same position like others, should I do something?
Like today I'm selling a prerelease Scorpion god promo for $14 plus 2.50 for shipping, but after buying a shipping label for tracking (and all other Ebay/Paypal/Shipping Fees) I'm only making $11 instead of $14.30 without the label.
I'm just a simple person trying to get value out of the cards I pull and will never use...
