- My parents traveled down to the Sunshine State to join us for some exciting events at our church for Mother’s Day! My mom was invited to be the guest speaker at a Ladies Banquet on Friday night and my dad as the guest Preacher for our Sunday morning and evening services!
We love our church family and it was such an encouragement to have my parents not only come to share time with us all and share their ministry, but to also see why we love our church and are so grateful to God to be able to take part in what God is doing through the ministry!
As the guest speaker at the Ladies Banquet and Sunday School on Mother’s Day, I was challenged and convicted by the wonderful study my mom shared with us ladies. As I sat and listened, I thought how special and helpful it might be for many of you who follow along on our channels.

I am seventeen years old and have been so encourged by Erin and Mrs. Bates since I was thirteen. This month I actually got the opportunity to talk to Mrs. Bates in person and she is such an encouragement to all!
If she ever wrote a book about her life, I'd totally buy it.

It’s so very true! My mom gave me a verse “Philippians 4:8” as a struggling teen. Kids at school were brutal, and she said that if I could focus on those beautiful, truthful things in my life, instead of hurt or pain. I loved how encouraging this was, and truly focus on the things that are True, not careless, angry, hurtful. I really appreciate this uplifting message.

My Mama was the most kind, thoughtful & soft spoken person in the world. I miss her so much, grace came naturally to her. I'm so different, always struggling to say things right or just be quiet. Its nice to see your mom, she has that same gift of grace in her words & spirit. No matter how old we get we always want our moms.
Your mom has so much energy at 57, still raising kids at home, traveling, always planning things, I don’t know how she does it. ❤

When it comes to ageing I think we're still far too hung up on numbers when the fact of the matter is that 57 is not the same as it was 30-40 years ago.
For example The Golden Girls were all in their 50s when that tv show aired back in the 80s and yet when we look at those women now with 2024 eyes they look like 80+ year olds. Certainly everyone is different but with all the advances in medicine and our lives in general being made much easier from a technological standpoint, 57 just isn't the same as it used to be, nor are your 60s for that matter.
@@music4thesoul80 good points. It I kind of think it was the opposite. Because of all the labor intensive jobs and hard work, people lived longer if you had good genetics or healthcare was available. I think genetics plays a big part and I’m not sure they own a tv. They are always on the go. Beautiful family regardless. I know I’m 60 and not as healthy as my mom was at same age. She lived to 89. I don’t think I’ll ever see 89. But longevity was in her genetics and she worked hard in her younger years. And had best health care.

What a wonderful lesson. I tend to get snippy with my husband when I get tired. I live with chronic pain and chronic illnesses. It’s not always what I say, it’s how I say it.
I am not a Christian, but, my goodness, I love and respect the Bates. I learned so much from this video, and I love the gentle way Kelly Jo delivers this message. This was as comforting as a warm blanket on a cloudy day.
Please become a Christian because Jesus is coming back.And you don't want to be left behind and go through the tribulation. The gospel 1 Cor. 15:1-4
John 14:16-18 KJV
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

If you come to know the Lord Jesus Christ, you will have the "Comforter" with you always, the Holy Spirit dwelling in you.

Recently retired teacher here, So right on... I'd find the "bad" kids and find a way to compliment something before I had a reason to "scold"... "Hey, nice shoes, my nephew's been wanting the same..." "Did you just kick that ball all the way across the yard...??? Can you do it again?" Often, these "bad" kids were so unaccustomed to a compliment or a kind word, it would disarm them and gave then a chance to return the "kindness" without putting them in the position of having to make the first move. Also, my "authority" was not put in question.
Can we have a Mama B youtube channel with bible study, please? This video has been so inspirational and I have learned so much from the Bates family

Pleeeease have more of these videos! Her wise words are something I desperately need to hear. My friends and I just complain our kids all the time haha! It's just such a bad habit and something I don't really think much about but definitely need to work on. Life can be hard and our children can be draining at times and we can get so consumed in the negative all around us. Hearing this is like a breath of fresh air. Such great reminders ❤

What a great word Kelly! So so true. Words are powerful and it is hard if we don't follow what the Holy Spirit wants us to do. Thank you for reminding us and convicting us to do much better with our words.
I am just a few years younger than Kelly Jo, and I do admire her very much. She is so wise, encouraging, and humble. These are the characteristics that I endeavor for in my life. I take great inspiration from her. But I would like to also say, that my life looks very different than Kelly Jo's. I am not at all traditional, I am not overly religous, and politically I imagine we are on different ends of the spectrum, but nonetheless, I have always felt a connection with Kelly Jo. I say all that because I think its more important to find and celebrate connection and not allow that which makes us different divide us. Thank you Erin for having your Mom share this with us all.
