- What is it like to be the 'Bringing Up Bates' mom of 19? I got to ask my mom some questions about how she managed to hold it all together, to cultivate a positive environment and invest into each of us 19 kids in what many might consider challenging or even chaotic upbringing.
Kelly Jo Bates shares the impact that faith and being in God's Word has had in helping her as a wife and as a mother, identifying ways to engage faith as a family and grow together to see the blessings of raising up such a large family.
I hope this conversation with my mom encourages you as it has encouraged me! We're thrilled to be able to share with you these conversations with our family members who were inspirational and instrumental in our lives!

I'm 71. I listen to these wise words. My reminder to encourage moms to take your godly advise is this: you will not get a do-over! And it can be the saddest while you have to wait for the Lord to undo what you messed up.❤

I love how y’all focused on not being negative or complaining about your kids, because as a woman who struggles with recurrent pregnancy loss it is so heartbreaking and irritating to me to hear moms complaining about their kids.

You know, I'm not a mom, but I'm going through Chemotherapy right now and I'm choosing gratitude and focusing on blessings every day. I agree. It makes a huge difference!! ❤

I pray that your mom would have her own channel filled with her wisdom about being a wife, mother, friend, grandmother, etc. The wisdom she shared in this video was such a blessing.
I love Momma Bates outlook on negativity. I remember when I was pregnant feeling so sick and this one night my husband and friend from church wanted to go eat Mexican of all things. I really didn’t wanna go but I pushed myself and just getting out of the house and fellowshipping made me feel so much better!

I so wish I had been raised by people like Kelly Jo and Gil Bates. You are such wonderful examples and your children are all so outstanding, each in their own way. My parents were the opposite. The world would be a whole different place if children had parents that cherished and loved them the way you do! I agree with everyone I see and hear... Kelly Jo and Gil are so missed! I’m 42 years old homeschooling my three teen girls l have five kids the older two are young adults l must say Kelly you have helped me in so many ways, lm so encouraged by your words. I love having Bible study with my girls. My husband does weekly devotions with the whole family.

Erin and Kelly I truly thank you for this video. I so pray many expectant mamas watch this..I grew up with a very mentally unwell mother, although I love and appreciate her for what she sacrificed for me, she was very down and stressed all the time. She was also insecure and I tried to be different as a mother but did not have the Lord in my life. My children are young adults and it's never too late to change, I have many health struggles and often lately find myself being more down than I wish, this has been a blessing for me to see as I am now a Christian and know that my Lord and Savior loves me, Thank you both again

Mamma Kelly went to God and gives God the glory when she was overwhelmed, we can take a lesson in that for everything in life.. Go to God, he will help!!

How much better the world would be if all parents would praise their children like Gil and Kelly . Had to be hard raising so many, but shows how much love was given the way they all turned out. Love Gil's ministry from his church. I also go to a Baptist church and watch his church on UA-cam.

Out of the couple of family channels of your guys’ that I follow, I’ve really noticed how much your mom makes time to travel around and visit everyone and is always there for the big events. Being more patient and pleasant is something I strive to do as a mom, so thank you for that advice.
