    I loved this tutorial. This was my first camera and I was told it was crap. Now I know I now have two good cameras.

    I’ve had a D3200 for about 13 years and I love it! Added a 55-300 lens and I’m set. It’s about 15000 photos old now and the only thing it needs is a good cleaning. Sure a D7500 is better but theD3200 is all I need. 11:40

    I have a D3100 and it’s a decent camera. My kids were stiff fairly young and in martial arts when I bought it. They’re now teenagers in marching band. It’s still a decent beginner camera. I have an even older Nikon model than this one D70, and still occasionally get it out. I highly recommend Nikon products.

    Good Intro, Rich. Thank you for this useful information about the Nikon D3200 Photo Camera and two thumbs up to Adorama TV too. You got me as another suscriber from now on and of course you got my like as well. Love the care and detail put into creating this video, I specially like the feature included under the description and above the comments allowing the viewer to know where to go with Chapters through the Index mode. Thanks, again, for delivering high-end quality videos to us.

    Great Video, good information. I just got my Nikon D3200 about a week ago, and I'm so anxious to learn all the features. I'm interested in eventually making documentaries with this camera. Thanks, again.

    Hi Dan, I am on the same boat you are. I am going for the D3200 as it has a newer sensor, but let me tell you that I had to struggle for a month before deciding which one to buy. The D5100 has the flip screen which is pretty useful when taking pictures on complicated angles. But still decided for the D3200 and I also agree that 24MP is too much.

    Generally, it's since camera sensor technology changes, the rule of thumb many photographers use is: buy the best glass you can afford, and less for the camera until you can get a good camera. So, your strategy seems sound.

    With a lot of effort I have finally managed to adjust the settings to display the HISTOGRAM but I am not able to find out how to view the histogram. I would be very appreciative if you would do a tutorial on how the set the camera (Nikon D 3200) to show the histogram and how to view the histogram. All the best

    Hi Adriano,
    Sorry your D3200 doesn't seem to be working. To troubleshoot your problem, we need more info. what happens when you turn the camera on? What happens when you press the shutter release? Are any of the controls not working? Is the battery charged? Have you tried taking the battery out for a minute and then putting it back in?

    Great instructional video, thank you! I spend a lot of time in the forest and I'm new with my D3200. I'm struggling to determine optimal settings for both video and stills in a forested area where the light levels can fluxuate. I want to be ready to shoot objects or animals that may appear around me. Any suggestions as to a starting point (settings)? Thanks in advance.

    My two cents.
    If you're gonna buy a camera of that class, from D3000 to D3400 current model etc.
    First invest in a nice cheap 35 mm DX prime lens easily twice the quality of the 18-55 mm kit(IMO).
    And second avoid using the built-in flash like the plague, I have yet to see a good photo taken with that thing on.

    Very good overview. I do however disagree that 3.5-5.6 is a "nice and fast" lens. What is a slow lens if that's fast? Most potential buyers probably won't understand how a lens can be fast or slow anyway (like me a few years ago), so maybe that's just something that could have been left out.

    I can't decide between the D3200 and the D5100!! I'm thinking 24mp is maybe 8mp too many, and apparently its crap in low light whereas the d5100 isn't, hence can't decide between the two cameras.

    Hi!I need some advice.I have a Canon 600D+a couple of good and fast lenses. I'm thinking about a transition to Nikon (I'll probably still use the Canon). The Nikon D600 looks amazing,but for the price of just the body I can get D3200+24-70 f/2.8.And maybe a Tokina 12-24 f/4 for ultra wide. Later on I would like to move on to FX.I know the D3200 is entry level but it has an amazing sensor and image quality.24-70 would look funny on that body,but I think it would be a great combo. Your thoughts?

    Damit...everyone says the same thing about turning off VR if your using a tripod but know one ever says why. Could someone maybe reply if they know?

    • @anshulkalra3096
      @anshulkalra3096 8 років тому

      Actually when one is capturing pictures with Dslr while using Hands,Hands shiver.To stable the Picture VR mode is On with which the picture will be stable inspite of shivering of hands.And while using Tripod VR mode is off because It does't shiver😄
      thats why we should off the VR mode while using tripod stand

    • @phlopalopagus
      @phlopalopagus 8 років тому +1

      +Anshul Kalra Lol are you kidding me? That is not an answer. That is just what the instruction say. The question is why do I need to turn it off? What harm does it do while being on? Why would we not just leave it on? Im sorry but you just did the very same thing I was taking about. You say to leave it on when holding the camera and turn it off when putting it on a tripod but the question is WHY?

    • @phlopalopagus
      @phlopalopagus 8 років тому

      +Anshul Kalra The reason I am asking is because im a walking talking tripod lol. I am very very stable. If the vr does something to diminish my quality for the sake of a shivering hand then I would never want it on to begin with.

    • @lodashnotebook5390
      @lodashnotebook5390 10 років тому +1

      5100 is a good choice for stills, even 3200 is good for video.

    • @dakoolguy111
      @dakoolguy111 10 років тому +2

      The d5100 performs better in low light, the d3200 has higher megapixel count, optimized for blowing up pictures into really big sizes, or anything else that requires you to have really fine details in your pictures. The d3200 is smaller and lighter, and the d5100 has a screen that can flip out and flip all the way around, useful for shooting at difficult angles and being able to see the screen when looking at the front of the camera.
